Memorial Hall
Tour stop audio transcript
Memorial Hall is at the heart of UD's campus and is the home of the English department and houses the Writing Center, where students get one-on-one writing assistance. It sits at the center of The Green, our sprawling tree-lined lawn where students meet up with friends, relax and get some work done under an elm tree. The Green is also the setting for many outdoor events, including 1743 Welcome Days, a week of activities welcoming new students to campus and culminating in a candlelight ceremony inducting students into our community of scholars. On the North Green, there are residence halls and academic buildings that house departments in pretty much every one of our academic colleges. Not only is The Green around Memorial Hall one of the most picturesque spots on campus, it's also the place where people come together to make their ideas a reality.
