Welcome to the University of Central Missouri (or UCM), home of the Mules! UCM, founded in 1871, offers challenging academics, some of the nation's top-ranked graduate school programs, and an active student body with more than 200 student organizations to choose from. UCM alumni have risen to the top of a number of professional fields including business, athletics, science, media and the arts. Join me now and explore just a few of the highlights of this 1,561-acre Warrensburg campus, less than an hour away from Kansas City.

Elliott Union

This is Elliot Union, one of the main social, dining and services destinations on campus. Here you can take out cash or spend cash; get a classic burger or sushi; find a quiet area to study or bustling lounge environment where you can meet new people. The Union also houses the University Store, Gilbert Student Activities Center, and the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs, just to name a few of its features.

Morris Building

The Morris Building is home to both UCM's math and science programs, the latter of which include biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, and computer science. Also housed within is the Nahm Auditorium, a facility that is named after UCM's first female faculty member to receive a doctorate; Nahm Auditorium is used for large lectures and presentations.

Ward Edwards

Ward Edwards Hall is an important stop for all your UCM records and transactions. Inside you can manage your Admissions, class Registration, and Financial Aid and Scholarships. The recently-renovated structure is also home to the International Center and facilities of the Harmon College of Business Administration.

Administration/Hendricks Hall

Both the bulk of UCM's Administrative offices, and the largest performance venue on campus, Hendricks Hall, are housed here in the Administration Building. In addition to the many business offices of the University, the Administration Building is where you'll find the Provost, Academic Advising and Assessment & Testing. Hendricks Hall seats about 1,400 guests and hosts the popular Performing Arts Series.

Student Recreation and Wellness Center

Here at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center you can take a group class, meet with a personal trainer, dive into an intramural league, or work out on your own. If you are a student of Kinesiology, this is your home base. The Center houses strength training and cardio facilities, Garrison Gym, an indoor climbing and bouldering wall, a walking track and several studios. When you've worked up an appetite you can visit Einstein Bros Bagels, and there are plenty of places to kick back and socialize.

Kirkpatrick Library

The Kirkpatrick Library, the University's main library, houses a collection of more than 2 million items and more than 23 miles of shelving. In addition to its collection, the Library features the first-floor Harmon Computer Commons where students can access over 300 computers, as well as additional computer workstations spread throughout the Library. The Library also features a range of study and instructional spaces, including multimedia and distance learning classrooms. On the third floor you can access tutoring services at the Student Success Center. If you're craving a snack or drink while you're here, you can pick it up on the ground floor, and you can also check out the ancient artifacts, rare specimens and collections at the McClure Archives and University Museum.

Art Center

UCM's College of Art & Design is headquartered here in the Art Center. Inside, students hone their skills in several disciplines from Graphic and Interior Design to Printmaking and many more. In addition to grooming gifted artists, the College also offers tracks for students interested in becoming arts educators. The Art Center also houses the Gallery of Art and Design, where the UCM community and the public can explore the work of professional artists, faculty and students.

Wood

The Wood Building is where you'll find many of your classes in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. It's also where you'll find Twomey Auditorium and Patton Broadcast Center, where you can gain valuable real world media experience as a volunteer at NPR station 90.9 or PBS member station KMOS TV.

Highlander Theatre

The James L. Highlander Theatre is the main performance venue of the Department of Theatre & Dance, and also hosts an array of guest artists from across the globe. The Theatre seats up to 442 patrons and features a motorized orchestra apron lift, advanced lighting and sound. Behind the stage are classrooms, makeup and dressing rooms, and costume and scene shops.

Yeater Hall

Historic Yeater Hall is home to approximately 140 female UCM students. Residents enjoy close proximity to campus dining, shopping and recreation, as well as the Library and athletic facilities. Rooms in Yeater are fully-furnished and include private bathrooms, hardwood floors, and Wi-Fi. The Hall hosts several memorable events throughout the year including an annual Yeater Haunted Tour and Jell-O Wars.
