Welcome to Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, fully accredited by the American Bar Association. Since 1947, the Law School has been a catalyst for initiating courageous conversations and leading the field in equality, diversity, and opportunity in keeping with the values and ideals of our namesake, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. Our law school has empowered the disenfranchised and underserved by preparing students to practice law and shape social and public policy. TSU empowers our students through high-quality academic and experiential learning programs. Courses are designed to enable students to become excellent critical thinkers, evidence evaluators, rule-makers, problem solvers, and authors of well-crafted legal documents. The Thurgood Marshall School of Law Library houses 350,000 volumes and volume equivalents. The Library has an annual budget of one million dollars to manage library resources. Electronic legal databases including Lexis and Westlaw are available online for law faculty and law students who have completed their first-year legal research class requirement. The Library participates in TexShare, a statewide consortium that permits our patrons to borrow materials directly from connected libraries in the system. An interlibrary loan system is also available. The library is a selective government depository and there are nine professional librarians available to assist law patrons.

The Thurgood Marshall School of Law has two computer laboratories located in the Law Library. Labs in both rooms 122 and 126 can accommodate up to two dozen students with HP desktop systems on the "lawstudent" domain. The podium system has a projector and plasma display with audio and microphone, and allows inputs from PCs, laptops, a dedicated USB connection, DVD player, and document scanner. The computer labs are open seven days a week, excluding holidays. Check the TSU website for schedule details.

The Moot Court, located on the first floor of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, has a moveable partition to create multiple configurations. It's a combination court/presentation space with 24 seats, and a six-seat jury/panel area. Law students experience legal proceedings in this space, as they would in an actual court of law. This area can be combined with auxiliary rooms for large events. The Courtroom podium system has a projector output with audio and microphone, and allows input from PCs, laptops or other VGA devices, dedicated USB connections, a DVD player, and document scanner.

Two presentation rooms are located on the first floor of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Room 106 is equipped with 70 seats, while room 107 has 85 seats. The rooms can be combined with room 105 for large events. The combined space is used for guest speakers, legal series and related seminars. The podium systems have a projector output with audio and microphone, and allows input from PCs, laptops or other VGA devices, a dedicated USB connection, a DVD player, and document scanner.

Two smaller classrooms are located on the second floor of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Two dozen students can be seated in rooms 211 and 212. Each space is equipped with digital connections, a projector and plasma displays with audio and microphones. These rooms are designed for student presentation and lectures.

There are three dedicated student classrooms, each with 56 seats, and all have hard-wired network connections. The podium system has a projector output with audio and microphone, and allows input from PCs, laptops or other VGA devices, a dedicated USB connection, DVD player, and document scanner.

The second floor of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law has seven large classrooms, all with hard-wired network connections. Rooms 202 and 203 have 112 seats, the School's largest spaces. The rooms have podium systems with a projector output for audio and microphone and other state-of-the-art visual and digital connections.
