Welcome to Texas State Technical College, part of a state-supported system of two-year technical colleges, with this branch in Waco being both the oldest and main campus. Students primarily work toward an Associate of Applied Science degree and the graduation rate is impressive, as is the post- graduate employment rate. While taking coursework relevant to a specialized program, students can also enroll in English, math, psychology, sociology, and humanities classes that can transfer to four-year schools.

John B. Connally Technology Center

Although the Computer Science Technology (CST) program has been at TSTC for over 30 years, it may as well be new due to how quickly computer technology and software change. The John B. Connally Technology Center houses this ever-changing program with courses in Server Systems, Unix, Graphics, and Gaming. CST boasts a job placement rate of 90% or better for 12 years and counting. In the same Center are also the following programs: Digital Forensics Technology, Network Security, Systems Administration, and Computer Maintenance.

Industrial Technology Center

The Avionics Office is located here in the Industrial Technology Center, offering programs in aircraft testing and avionic systems. Rather than learn in a simulation classroom, students work in a real Avionics Repair Facility. The Electronics Technology program, where students learn about the electronics used in radio, radar, sonar, and navigational equipment, also calls this Center home base.

Transportation Technology Center

Because of a partnership between TSTC and Toyota, the Toyota Training & Education Network calls the Transportation Technology Center home. Here students become trained as apprentice technicians and will go on to work at Toyota dealerships. Benefits of this program are paid educational opportunities, scholarships, and placement assistance when it's time to find a job. This facility is also used by the Auto Collision & Management Technology program.

Provence Graphics Communications Center

At the Provence Graphics Communication Center, students can specialize in Architecture/Civil Drafting and Mechanical/Electronics Drafting, where they will consult with designers and engineers to turn their sketches and ideas into something concrete like a new product or a skyscraper. Internships and co-ops provide real-life scenarios, and students have the advantage of small classes and faculty members who work in relevant industries.

Technical Studies Center

The Chemical/Environmental Laboratory Technology program partners with multiple relevant industries so that your hands-on work here in the Technical Studies Center can be directly applied in the real world. Also housed here are the programs that lead to Safety and Environmental Compliance Technician Associate Degrees, Health Physics Advanced Technical Certificates, and a Radiation Protection Technology Associate Degree. These lead to jobs in the relatively new and intersecting fields of environmental health and science, and of nuclear medicine and emergency response.

Library

Open six days a week, the Library has 62,000 books and 250 periodicals, including technical journals that may be of interest during your academic career. There is also a large collection of videos and DVDs, both for educational and fun purposes. The Library also houses a computer lab and provides resources online to those taking part in Distance Learning, TSTC's program for attending college from off-campus.

Student Services Center

The Student Services Center is home to the Tornado Alley Café, which will be your main destination whether or not you have the TSTC meal plan, serving all three meals during weekdays. Also here, you will find the Financial Aid office, the bookstore, Campus Services, and Health Services. There are many types of financial aid available to students, but it's important to look into these as soon as you can. When it comes to Health Services, because many students will have daily contact with mechanical and electrical equipment, there are low-cost insurance plans available.

Electronics Center

Texas State Technical College Waco is credited with starting the country's first Laser Electro-Optics Technology (LET) program, back in 1969. This two-year program operates out of the Electronics Center and is an exciting career path because of its well-paying jobs in science and medicine. Also on the cutting edge and located here is the Instrumentation, Computerized Controls & Robotics program, which leads to detail-oriented jobs in the processing and manufacturing industries.

Dr. Roy G. Dugger Center

Tutoring services can be found in the Student Success Center, which is just one part of the multipurpose academic facility called the Dr. Roy G. Dugger Center. The Social & Behavioral Sciences, English, Mathematics, and Business Management departments are all headquartered here.

Recreation Center

If you cross Campus Street coming from the Student Services Center, you will end up here at the Recreation Center, the hub of student activity and containing an office of the same name. The Student Activities Office works hard at filling the calendar with extracurriculars like movie nights, karaoke, bingo, and Xbox tournaments. Also in the Rec Center are a basketball and volleyball court, racquetball courts, a weight room, a game room, computer lab, and ping pong tables. Outside and adjacent to the Rec Center are softball fields, tennis courts, and a soccer field.
