West Village

West Village is home to one of TU's 2 student unions, eight residence halls, and the Enrollment Services Building. At the center of it all is West Village Commons, which includes one of TU's three all-you-care-to-eat dining locations. Student groups also use the commons for weekly meetings. Nearby, apartment-style student housing is offered in Marshall, Towson Run and Millennium halls. You can also find our premium housing in Tubman, Douglass and Barton Houses. The Enrollment Services building is in this part of campus, too where the billing, records, admissions, registration and financial aid offices are located. Most services are also accessible online.

Athletics and Campus Recreation

Burdick Hall is home to TU's brand-new fitness center, featuring a Ninja-warrior style training course, expanded workout areas, juice/smoothie bar, sprint hill as well as a state of the art cycling studio, boxing room, indoor volleyball courts and a soccer gym. You'll also find the swimming and diving teams and Campus Recreation Services here. Next door, you can take in Division 1 baseball at John B. Schuerholz Park named after an accomplished Towson Alum and current President of the Atlanta Braves. Across the way you'll find Burdick Field, a turf field enjoyed by dozens of club and intramural sports teams. With all the options, how will you stay fit?

Colleges of Liberal Arts and Education

The Liberal Arts building is a hub of academic activity, and with good reason—TU's strong foundation in the liberal arts means that every undergraduate student will take at least one course here. Of the many majors and minors in the College of Liberal Arts, psychology is among the most popular. Also located here is The Writing Center, with helps to improve your writing skills. Next door, Hawkins Hall & the Psychology Building are home to the College of Education, a distinguished leader in preparing teachers, school leaders and education specialists. You can also dine at one of TU's most popular lunch spots Au Bon Pain. The Study Abroad office, which offers more than 800 programs worldwide, the Military & Veteran's Center, and the Office of International Initiatives are also located in the Psychology building.

Health and Counseling Center

The Health and Counseling Center at Ward and West Halls offer student health services, including checkups, prescriptions, diet planning and much more The Counseling Center provides group, individual, and substance abuse counseling. Helpful monthly workshops are also available, including topics like time management, body image, meditation, relationships and even test taking. At TU, we're here to support you in any way we can.

Residence Life, East Campus

The newly renovated Residence Tower is a 13-story quad-style residence hall offering views of our campus and uptown Towson, as well as plenty of open student spaces and meeting rooms. Nearby Newell Hall was the first residence hall on TU's campus, and the building offers a wide range of living arrangements, including community and suite styles. The building also houses Newell Dining Hall, the second of three all-you-care-to-eat locations, featuring a Mongolian Grill, Omelet Bar, bakery, deli, and kosher dining. Right next door, Prettyman and Scarborough Halls are co-ed, community-style residence halls with a shared outdoor quad. The buildings have large lobby areas, study lounges, music rooms, and each has its own recreation room. Richmond Hall is home to our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math residence hall. Across the street, The Residences at 10 West is home to upper-classmen and transfer students and features one and two bedroom apartments.

Stephens and Van Bokkelen Halls

Stephens Hall can easily be identified by its iconic clock tower and is one of the original buildings on campus. It's home to our College of Business and Economics, accredited by AACSB International for its accounting and business administration programs. This is the highest standard of achievement a business school can receive. Less than 6% of schools worldwide are accredited for business, and only 2% are accredited for both business and accounting.

Science Complex

The brand-new Science Complex is the largest academic building on Towson University's campus. Located just south of Stephens Hall, it supports modern scientific research and instruction with teaching and research laboratories, open-air classrooms, lecture halls, and collaborative student spaces, plus a planetarium, observatory, rooftop greenhouse, rain garden, museum and vivarium. Home to the Fisher college of Science and Mathematics, majors offered here include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Geology, Environmental Science and Studies, and pre-professional programs. Regardless of their chosen major, all students will complete some of their core coursework here.

Administration & Student Support

Inside the 7800 York Road building, you'll find the Computer & Information Sciences department, Department of Mathematics and the Honors College. Across the street, the Administration building houses the Hearing & Balance Center, part of the Institute of Wellbeing which also includes the Speech & Language Center, the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism and the Occupational Therapy Center. Our centers provide services to the community and collaborate to offer a variety of programs for the public good. The Administration building is also home to the President’s office, the office of graduate studies, office of sponsored programs & research and more.

Albert S. Cook Library & Media Center

At the Albert S. Cook Library, students can take advantage of resources like computer labs, research assistance, study areas, copy and print services, equipment rentals and TU's Tutoring & Learning Center. There's also a Starbucks Café located on the third floor. Next door, you'll find the Media Center, which houses TU's Electronic Media and Film and Mass Communication & Communication Studies departments. Student-run radio and television stations also operate in this building.

Center of Campus

Outside Cook Library, the "Beach," as it's known, is a prime campus gathering spot. One of four tiger statues is located here. When you graduate, it's a TU tradition to take a photo of yourself with one of the tigers in your cap and gown. Nearby is Linthicum Hall, the current home to TU's College of Health Professions and nursing simulation labs. Expect TU's brand-new, six-story health professions complex to become home to all health professions majors in 2024. Nearby is Freedom Square, located underneath the Lecture Hall. Freedom Square is a place to express and debate issues of civic concern. TU promotes freedom of expression and speech in an atmosphere of critical thinking and debate.

The Glen Complex & Student Union

The Glen complex includes four high-rise towers, the Glen Marketplace, and another all-you-care-to-eat dining facility. These residence halls feature Living Learning Communities, allowing you the opportunity to pursue common interests with other students. Nearby is Glen Woods, where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of campus to relax in the Maryland Arboretum or check out our Challenge Course. Next door, TU's newly renovated University Union is the central hub of campus. Within the Union's additional 85,000 square feet, you'll find a 300-seat auditorium and movie theatre, a brand-new food-hall style eatery, and double the space for student activities. The Union is home to the Ustore, post office, and student organizations. You'll also find student services such as the Office of Accessibility and Disability Services, the Office of Civic Engagement and Leadership, the Career Center and more.

Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts is home to the Dance, Art + Design, Music, and Theatre Arts Departments in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, as well as, the Asian Arts and Culture Center, the Community Art Center, and Community Dance. The building has four theaters, three art galleries, two concert halls and a café. Some famous TU alums have walked these halls including John Glover, Mike Rowe, Amy Schumer, and Brian Stelter. Whether you're an arts major or not, you have the opportunity to experience many art, music, dance, theatre, film and communication events presented each year.

Go Tigers! Towson University is Baltimore's home for college sports. With 19 NCAA Division I varsity teams that compete in the Colonial Athletic Association, the nation's top mid-major conference. We've got a sport for every type of fan at Unitas Stadium, SECU Arena, and our softball and field hockey complexes. SECU Arena is also the location for one of your proudest TU moments, graduation. The newly renovated StartTUp houses several programs and offices focused on community engagement and outreach, entrepreneurship, continuing education and workforce development.
