Welcome to Truckee Meadows Community College! Our College serves more than 16,000 students each year in credit and noncredit programs at four educational sites. We offer convenience, flexible schedules and affordability, with more than 70 programs of study leading to more than 160 degree, university transfer and certificate options. You can explore TMCC in a number of ways: you can click on the forward facing arrow to begin a walking tour.

V. James Eardley Student Center

The V. James Eardley Student Center is our central area for students and staff to meet and interact; on any given day, students use the Center to socialize, or just to hang out and study. It's home to TMCC events such as student club activities, award ceremonies, and job fairs, as well as community events. It's also the gateway to the TMCC Bookstore and the Main Art Gallery. The Academic Advisement Office, located on the south end of the Center, is your home for academic planning assistance. Hungry? Just upstairs is the TMCC Cafe Verde.

Welcome Center

The Welcome Center is your first step to navigate TMCC, where our friendly staff can guide you to getting started. Future students, this is your starting location for requesting an in-person tour, getting a student ID and taking a placement test. The IT Customer Service desk provides assistance with your computer-related or technical questions. Behind the Welcome Center are offices for the Counseling Center, Disability Resource Center and the Student Government Association, as well as computers you can use to register for your classes. Our Diversity and International Services Center, called the Disco, is a welcoming place for all students to hang out between classes.

The third floor of the Red Mountain Building is the hub for essential services to students. Here our knowledgeable staff can help you with admissions and records, making a payment, and recruitment services. Just across the hall, the Financial Aid staff can help you identify financial aid options, scholarship opportunities, employment options, including student employment, and veterans benefits. And if you're a veteran, be sure to also visit our Veterans Resource Center downstairs.

Pennington Dental Wing

The fourth floor of the Red Mountain Building features the William N. Pennington Dental Wing, home to our Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting Programs. In addition to academic classes, TMCC students practice in a fully-equipped dental clinic, allowing them to gain extensive practical experience. The clinic also provides dental care to the community. From this level, you'll have a nice view of the Atrium, where indoor plants flourish and students gather to study, or share a meal.

Dandini Campus Plaza

The Plaza is the heart of the Dandini Campus. Every day, students enjoy the beautiful view of downtown Reno and the Sierra Nevada mountains while they relax between classes. Throughout each semester, student clubs and organizations host events here, such as barbecues and club fairs. Our E.L. Cord Child Care Center is located off the Plaza, offering full-time, part-time or semester-care options for children from infancy through preschool.

Vista Building

TMCC's Math and English Departments are located here in the Vista Building, including faculty offices and classroom spaces. The building's architecture includes two sections which highlight one of the most scenic vista points facing the Sierra Nevada mountains and downtown Reno. This view can also be enjoyed from inside one of our larger classroom spaces, which is also used for events and large presentations.

Sierra Building

The Sierra Building is the home of many Liberal Arts, Business and Social Sciences programs. Our faculty bring research expertise to the classroom, share their knowledge of technology, and bring experience from local industry. Our largest auditorium-style classroom is found here, and you may take a lecture-style course in this room, such as Art Appreciation. A student computer lab is available for academic research in a quiet work area, with convenient hours. And stop in at the coffee bar for some refreshment between classes!

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is a modern study area including the Library, Tutoring and WebCollege. Named for TMCC's first librarian, the Elizabeth Sturm Library houses books, periodicals, videos and films, laptops, and course reserve materials. The library features many services for students, including reference and research assistance, desktop computers with printer access, study space and study room reservations. TMCC's Tutoring and Learning Center provides free tutoring to students in many subject areas such as mathematics, writing, languages, sciences, and college study skills. Upstairs, the library has quiet study areas, while downstairs the Tutoring and Learning Center is a lively space to learn and work together.

Sports and Fitness Center

The beautiful 20,000 square-foot Sports and Fitness Center includes a full size gymnasium, three full-size fitness rooms, and 3,000 square feet of strength and conditioning space in the fully-equipped weight room. William N. Pennington Applied Technology Center

The William N. Pennington Applied Technology Center is located near the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, on Edison Way, and seven miles away from the Dandini Campus. Here we offer a wide variety of programs for students to prepare for employment in technical, high-wage and high-demand fields. This location bursts with up-to-date technology and is home to the Technical Sciences Division, including such up-and-coming fields as manufacturing and production technology. On a typical day, students in labs here also study machining, welding, air conditioning/HVAC, and automotive and diesel repair.

IGT Manufacturing Hub

In the center of the Pennington Applied Technology Center is the IGT Manufacturing Hub, a large space used for students to gather and study, or to hold events. The hub serves as the entryway to the welding and machining labs, as well as the Advanced Manufacturing labs, where students learn advanced robotics. You can also take advantage of computer labs, smart classrooms, and a student resource center. Many students here benefit from flexible class times and are working towards a certification, a Certificate of Achievement, or are on their way to an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Meadowood Center

The Meadowood Center is comprised of two buildings conveniently located in central Reno, near the Meadowood Mall and nine miles from the Dandini Campus. Meadowood is home to programs like the Frank N. Bender Center for Applied Logistics Management, Veterinary Nursing, and Certified Nursing Assistant, as well as Veterans Upward Bound. You can also enroll in a full selection of classes towards a two-year transfer degree here. Our Adult Basic Education programs are available for English Language Learners and students seeking their High School Equivalency. Meadowood also houses the EPIC department, Educational Programs Inspiring the Community, which offers northern Nevada's largest selection of non-credit personal enrichment courses.

William N. Pennington Health Science Center

The William N. Pennington Health Science Center is located in south Reno, near the Mount Rose Highway and about 16 miles from the Dandini Campus. The Center includes the Maxine S. Jacobs Nursing Program, as well as the Radiologic Technology and Emergency Medical Services programs. Additionally, for students interested in becoming a first responder, the Public Safety Department includes college credit education and training programs in Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management and non-credit programs as well.

Health Science Center Lab and Lounge

Inside the Pennington Health Science Center, the Nursing program has four high-tech simulation rooms with life-like manikins and two state-of-the-art teaching labs. Radiologic Technology has an X-ray suite and viewing room where students hone their craft using manikins with real bones. Paramedic students save patients in a mock-up apartment and learn to keep them alive in ambulance simulators. Students can use an on-site computer lab, a library resource center, and plenty of space for group projects and independent study. A modern facility, complete with outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the Truckee Meadows, make this a beautiful site to complete your studies.
