Welcome to Thomas Jefferson University, home of innovative academic programs in architecture, business, design, engineering, fashion & textiles, health, medicine, nursing, science and social science. Thomas Jefferson University was founded in 1824 as Jefferson Medical College, and Philadelphia University, was founded in 1884 as the Philadelphia Textile School. In 2017, these two universities merged to become the incredible university we are today. Right now, you're on the Jefferson East Falls Campus, specifically at White Corners, where you'll find admissions and financial aid.

The Kay and Harold Ronson Health and Applied Science Center

Our newest building on campus is the 60,000-square foot Kay and Harold Ronson Health and Applied Science Center, home to the College of Health Professions and the College of Rehabilitation Sciences. Inside, you'll find six Nexus Learning Hubs and collaborative breakout areas; a health innovation makerspace; and labs dedicated to the study of clinical simulation physical diagnostics and gross anatomy (and with a 6:1 cadaver-to-student ratio!). The LEED Silver building, which includes a green roof, seamlessly connects with Hayward Hall and its fashion and textile programs. A stairwell at the intersection of the Ronson Center and Hayward Hall serves as a ceremonial cross-roads of our allied health, engineering, and comprehensive design programs.

Fashion Design Studio

Interested in fashion design? You'll spend a lot of time here in Hayward Hall's state-of-the art facilities, complete with industry-standard tools and machinery. The highly ranked fashion design program at Jefferson trains student designers to have a vision for the future, to problem-solve, and to contribute to the global marketplace. You'll learn traditional patternmaking and draping techniques alongside digital design software (Adobe and CLO). You'll create custom prints, textiles, accessories, jewelry and hardware. And you'll participate in cross-disciplinary opportunities with textiles, industrial design, visual communication design students and more.

Industrial Design Studio

Make drawings and 3D models. Build prototypes. Share ideas with others to gain their input. It all happens in Hayward Hall's open and collaborative studio environment. From creating better backpacks for airline travel to developing music players made from bamboo, industrial design students learn how to design things that transform the lives of people everywhere. They also work closely with business, technology and engineering students, among others, to solve real problems for real companies.

Textile Design Studio

Also in Hayward Hall is where our textile design students bring their ideas to life and collaborate in ways that mirror the real-world fashion industry. On any given day, they're working with leading-edge looms to produce actual printed, woven and knitted products, or taking studio and technical courses in weaving, knitting, printing, materials technology and more. They also spend a lot of time in our revolutionary, 14,000 square foot Fashion and Textiles Center, which gives them a 360-degree view of the supply chain and unparalleled opportunities to work with industry partners on exciting projects.

The Architecture and Design Center (the A&D Center) is our College of Architecture and the Built Environment, whose mission is to educate the next generation of design and construction professionals to create an equitable and sustainable future. Inside, you'll find third, fourth and fifth-year students who have their own individual studio space and are given after-hour access.

Hayward Hall / Architecture and Design Center

Hayward Hall and the Architecture and Design Center, or the A&D Center was built in 1967, the A&D Center was originally the University's first library – today, the A&D Center is home to the College of Architecture and the Built Environment. Hayward Hall houses the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce, and the College of Life Sciences.

Kanbar Campus Center / The Gallagher Athletic, Recreation, and Convocation Center

The Kanbar Campus Center is the main hub of campus where students meet with friends, hit the bookstore, grab a bite, get your mail, explore study abroad, or play foosball. Next door is the Gallagher Athletic, Recreation and Convocation Center. The homebase for our athletics department, the Center offers everything from aerobics to basketball, a state-of-art gym and even an underground parking garage. In this photo, you're also looking at the Robert J. Reichlin House, a historic home dating back to 1911. Now, it's the main administrative building and includes the Office of the President and Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Herb Magee Arena

Located inside the Gallagher Center is the 1,200-seat Coach Herb Magee Arena. Named for Jefferson's men's basketball coach for 55 seasons and winningest men's basketball coach in NCAA Division II history, the arena is where Jefferson's men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams shine. (FYI: Jefferson is an NCAA Division II school with 17 varsity sports!) In addition to the arena, this space features locker rooms, a fitness center, elevated track, auxiliary gym, racquetball courts and an aerobics room. Interested in intramural or club sports like ultimate Frisbee or field hockey? We've got plenty. And get this: Daily classes in things like yoga and Zumba are included in tuition.

Ronson Hall Residence

Welcome to the Ravenhill side of campus, which includes the Ravenhill Dining Hall, Ravenhill Mansion (a beautiful 19th-century campus jewel, actress Grace Kelly attended school here!), Ravenhill Chapel, Weber Design Studios and residence halls such as Partridge Hall, Mott Hall, Fortess Hall and, what you're also seeing here, Ronson Hall. One of our largest residence halls, Ronson Hall has co-ed wings, an all-male wing, an all-female wing, with predominantly two-person rooms and a community kitchen/social lounge and common-area bathrooms. The wings are connected with an interior central court that has security check-in and lounge. And also, it's air-conditioned!

Common Thread

Inside Kanbar, you'll come across Common Thread, one of three dining halls located on campus. All first-year students living on campus will be assigned the premium meal plan, with the option to change to the standard plan after you enroll. Common Thread is open throughout the week and has a bunch of customizable stations. Think sandwiches, salads, grilled foods, daily specials, and also vegan and vegetarian options. And don't miss Chicken Finger Thursday, it's a big deal around here. If you're looking for an on-the-go option, hit up Ted's for wraps, pizza, and more. They also offer Starbucks coffee. Here's a tip: If you're in a hurry, use mobile ordering.

Lawrence N. Field Design, Engineering & Commerce Center - Forum

Built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards, the Lawrence N. Field DEC Center is a one-of-a-kind space designed to advance the project-based learning and problem-solving curriculum of its namesake, the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering & Commerce. It offers flexible learning spaces for studio time or team projects for students in fashion design, business and other programs, as well as the DEC Forum, one of our larger lecture halls for guest speakers. The Center's benefactor, Larry Field, was a real-estate entrepreneur and philanthropist who supported our University's innovative vision.

Jefferson's award-winning library houses an extensive array of printed and online materials, as well as computers and equipment for you to print, scan, etcetera. When you walk in, you enter on the main floor, which has plenty of tables and individual desks. The top floor, shhh, is completely silent, perfect for focusing. The bottom floor is a quiet floor and has a technology help desk. The library has a VR Studio too, and is the primary location for our Honors Institute. Best part? The librarians are available to help in-person or online.

Townhouses / Kanbar Campus Center / Lawrence N. Field Design, Engineering & Commerce Center

The townhouses are situated in the middle of campus, between the Kanbar Campus Center and the Lawrence N. Field Design, Engineering & Commerce Center. These are three-story residence halls for upper-class students, complete with five single-occupancy bedrooms, shared bathroom, living/dining room and kitchen. The facility is furnished and air-conditioned. Just outside of the townhouses, you'll find seating and barbecue areas—a great spot to catch up with friends.

Search Hall Architecture Studio

Search Hall is where our first and second year architecture and design studios are located. The desks are set up to encourage group work and collaboration. Upstairs we have our math and health science professors' offices. Professors always have office hours in case students have questions or need extra help. And downstairs in this building, we have our photography studios, which any student can take as an elective. Fun fact: Built in 1967, Search Hall was named for Theodore Search who founded the Philadelphia Textile Institute in 1884. It was the first textile school in the U.S., and later became PhilaU, which merged with Jefferson in 2017.

Arlen Specter Center for Public Service

Arlen Specter was Pennsylvania's longest-serving Senator. That's why you'll find a collection of the Senator's historic papers, photographs and political documents on display here. Named after him, this Center was established in 2011 inside the historic Roxboro House at Jefferson. This is also where Jefferson's Law & Society and Communication programs call home, and where you'll find numerous events, such as Roxboro Roundtables and the Katz Memorial Lecture.

The Tuttleman Center

The Tuttleman Center is hub for the School of Business, but it also hosts classes for many other programs. Named for its benefactor Stanley Tuttleman, father of David Tuttleman '83, the building features a 300-seat auditorium, high-tech classrooms, computer stations, rooms designed for Nexus Learning, and also Tuttleman Café, which serves coffee, light breakfasts, soup, sandwiches and salads.

Center for Sustainability, Energy, Efficiency and Design (SEED) – Fabrication Lab

Every day, there's a lot of exciting things happening at the LEED-certified, multidisciplinary facility we call the SEED Center. Our fabrication lab features almost thirty 3D printers at varying sizes, and 2 laser cutters. This facility is accessible to students during the building's open hours and the laser lab is staffed 7 days a week Architects, engineers, builders and developers also use the Center as a regional resource for specialized training, sustainable building design strategies and green product/material integration.

Ravenhill Dining Hall

Feeling hungry? Ravenhill Dining Hall is a 350-seat, all-you-can-eat dining option that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on the weekends. Students love the variety of cuisines here, as well as the theme nights, like Midnight Breakfast before exams in the fall. Downstairs is the Raven Hub, a popular hang-out spot for students on the Ravenhill side of campus. This brightly decorated and sunny space includes TVs, pool and ping-pong tables, lounge and study space, and breakout rooms. It's also home to WPHU, Jefferson's student-run radio station.

Alumni Field and Rams Athletics

Home to the Jefferson Rams' baseball team, Alumni Field was the very first athletic field built on campus. Fans can cheer on our student-athletes from the bleachers, the grass lawn and hill along the first base line, or from outside the fence. Jefferson also features on-campus softball, lacrosse, and soccer fields, and tennis courts.
