Welcome to the Temple University School of Pharmacy. We've been educating pharmacist since 1901. Our programs support our mission to create opportunities to transform lives through pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance. My name is Alexis Vitale. I'm a second year Doctor of Pharmacy candidate. Pharmacy became a huge part of my life after I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and then started working at CVS. I absolutely loved my job. I even looked forward to waking up and going to work. There was no question that I wanted to go back to school to become a pharmacist. I chose Temple because it offers everything I need to achieve my goals. Take a look!

Temple University School of Pharmacy Programs are dynamic. You will learn in a variety of environments among classmates, faculty, and staff who will quickly become your colleagues and even family. Here, in classroom 414, which was built with collaborative learning in mind, Doctor of Pharmacy program faculty are leading students in a team based learning exercise as part of the first year Intro to Pharmacy course. Team based learning supports application, analysis, evaluation, and creation of concepts and methods. This exercise here focuses on pathophysiology and therapeutics of managing anemia. Students work within teams to answer case-based questions relating to anemia and get feedback on thought processes and team work skills

Lab Learning

You will create some of your earliest bonds in the first-year Pharmacy Lab courses right here in this room, the Dolores Leidich Clinical Practice Lab. You will use mathematics to prepare and evaluate pharmaceutical inhalers, ointments, creams, and more. You will become familiar with prescriptions and physician orders. Over time, each class year becomes a small family within the big family of the Temple University School of Pharmacy. Teamwork makes the curriculum much more manageable, so we stay close and support one another the whole time. The hands-on aspect of the curriculum and our highly-engaged professors, make the learning experience engaging and exciting.

This medical practice - Temple Internal Medicine Associates - is one of the largest primary care providers for the North Philadelphia community. In year four, you could work here alongside ambulatory care faculty in managing patients with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, HIV, and more.
