Inside the Tarleton Center you will find many important offices in our One Stop Shop, including: Admissions, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Texan Card Services, Registrars, Residential Living and Learning. Across the lawn from the Tarleton Center, we have the College of Graduate Studies where students can pursue one of our 24 masters programs or a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.

Heritage Park

Heritage park provides a place on campus for current and past students to hang out, play Frisbee and reconnect. In addition one of Tarleton's most heartfelt traditions, Silver Taps, is held in Heritage Park during the Spring semester to honor any fallen member of the Tarleton Family.

E.J. Howell Building

The E.J. Howell Education building is the oldest building on campus; it originally served as our administration building until we began to expand. Today, it houses the College of Education, where our students have a 98% pass rate on their certification exams, and have the opportunity to enter the classroom setting earlier for observation.

Trogdon House

The Trogdon house was built in 1923 for Dean J. Thomas Davis. Dr. W.O. Trogdon was the last president to reside in the home, from 1966 to 1982, until it was renovated in 2009 for our current president, Dr. Dottavio. Nearby the Trogdon house, is the Mathematics Building, which offers academic support in the form of a Math Clinic, as well as two on campus radio stations.

Alumni Island

Alumni Island features statue of our founding father, John Tarleton and his pet duck Oscar P. This statue is 10 feet tall and is a symbol of history, tradition, and far-reaching vision.

"The Mathematics Building is home to many math and psychology classes. This is also the home to our two faculty and student lead radio stations. Students are also able to utilize the student disabilities services office and testing center located inside. Also, to help service students, the building houses a free tutoring resource for students called," The Math Clinic," where students can receive help with all their math questions from graduate students or undergraduate students with a strong math background.

Dining Hall

The Dining hall is the main location where students are able to eat on campus and interact with other students. It's buffet style with a variety of food options. There are also additional eating options available around the Dining Hall. Every on-campus student has a minimum 10-meal a week meal plan that comes with a set number of dining dollars to use at our other on campus food retailers like the Study Grounds Café and Texan Star Food Court. Students can select a larger meal plan if they choose.

Barry B. Thompson Student Center

The Thompson Student Center is where students are able to sit back and have some fun. Students may able to enjoy a variety of food in the Texan Star Food court, play Ping-Pong, Xbox 360, or shoot some Pool. Academic Advising, Office of International Programs, Student Success, and Study Abroad are housed on the lower level. Our Health and Counseling center is located on the top floor and offers students free services covered by tuition.

Honors Hall

Honor Hall is a co-ed facility for 440 incoming and returning Honors College students, featuring three room styles at three different price points, all with private baths. Honors Hall also features a spacious lobby, study spaces, courtyard, classrooms, community lounges with kitchens, and the administrative offices of the Honors College. As a student in the Honors College, you can participate in extensive academic curriculum and cultural enrichment, with a community combining the advantages of a small liberal arts college with the diversity of a comprehensive state university. A number of scholarships are available ranging from $1,000 to $9,000 annually.

Lamar Johanson Science Building

The Lamar Johanson Science building is home to the largest classroom on campus, as well as the offices of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geosciences, and Physics. Of our Pre-Health Profession students with a 3.5 or higher GPA, about 90% are accepted on their first try to medical school. The most prominent feature is the planetarium, which is one of only three of its kind in the State of Texas.

Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall is one of the newest residence halls on campus, completed in 2014. This residence hall houses Living and Learning Community students and features a split room bedroom layout with suite-style bathrooms. By Fall of 2016, Tarleton will have seven residence halls built in the past six years. Tarleton even offers housing specific to Honors students, in a newly renovated residence hall. The honors program offers an enriched learning experience for students seeking a more comprehensive education past what is included in their major, which includes a Study Abroad experience in Urbino, Italy

Nursing Building

The nursing building opened in Spring of 2011 and is 53,000 square feet. This State of the Art facility offers a mock hospital on the second floor featuring high fidelity mannequins with a simulation learning center and holds a 100% job placement rate within three months of graduating.

The Rec Sports Center is the place for students to work out, play sports, and enjoy intramurals with other students who live on and off campus. Students gain access into the Rec with their Texan Card and rent equipment for various activities. Group Exercise classes are offered without an additional charge and are taught by current Kinesiology students.

Home of the Texan Football Team and Track & Field Team, Tarleton Memorial Stadium houses our largest Block "T." School spirit is a large part of our student life at Tarleton, and Saturdays in this stadium definitely bleed purple!

Wisdom Gym is the home of the Men and Women's Basketball and Women's Volleyball teams, as well as, ROTC, the Child Development Center, Laboratory for Wellness and Motor Behavior, and Kinesiology department. Our Olympic size swimming and diving pools and Athletic weight room are also located inside. Attached to the building is the University Police department.

The Business building houses the College of Business and Administration. Students with the majors such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Management will take their classes. Our graduates are recruited by top global organizations including Microsoft and the United Nations, as well as the Accounting program boasts a consistent 100 percent job placement rate.

The Fine Arts building is home to our Theatre and Fine Arts department, including music and art. Our Theatre program performs two plays each semester – Spring, Summer, and Fall. Tarleton offers two bands, The Sound and the Fury and Foul Play, four different choirs, and several ensembles. Outside is the ULTRA, gifted to us by Ernie and Hugh Wolfe. This 18-foot-tall compass needle's name stands for Unlocking Limitations that Restrict Achievement.

Joe W. Autry Agriculture Building

As one of our three Agricultural centers, the Joe. W. Autry Agriculture building is home to the College of Agricultural and Environmental Science. Off campus, we offer the College Farm where students can gain hands on experience in animal science, and the Southwest Regional Dairy Center, the only fully functional dairy center on a college campus in the state.

Dick Smith Library

The newly renovated Dick Smith Library offers a Learning Commons Center where students can collaborate and use computers, and an expanded Study Grounds Café with Starbucks Coffee, along with the tutoring office and Tech Spot on the main floor. On the top floor there are study rooms and quiet zones so that the students may choose to study in the environment that benefits them most.

O. A. Grant Humanities Building

The O.A. Grant Humanities building is home to the new Communication Studies suite, Texan TV News Studio and media convergence center, public relations and event management lab, and University Writing Center. The offices of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts can be found on the third floor, along with the Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Social Work classes.
