Brookside
Tour stop audio transcript
Our tour starts at Brookside, the building where everything started. Though we were founded in 1890, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration moved the university to Fort Wayne in 1944. USF is a Franciscan Catholic university, but students of all faiths are encouraged to attend. We have two thousand four hundred students and over one hundred acres of wooded campus surrounding Mirror Lake. Students use the building for all kinds of activities and club events, including Murder Mystery Dinners and dance lessons in the third floor Ballroom.

Pope John Paul II Center

We're now at Pope John Paul II Center, which is our newest academic building on campus. Inside is our library, academic and career services and my favorite, Cyber Fresh Café, which is a Mac computer lounge and dining area.
The USF library offers study rooms, over sixty eight thousand volumes including more than four hundred and fifty periodical subscriptions. Students can also check out laptops and video cameras. The librarians can help you with research, whatever your project. And if we can't find what you're looking for on campus, USF is part of the inter-library loan system and we can get you materials from across the country.
Doermer Health Sciences
Tour stop audio transcript
Inside Doermer, you'll find all of our on-campus healthcare laboratories. We provide state-of-the art facilities for each of our healthcare programs. Having these labs on campus means we don't have to work around hospital schedules, and you can use the facilities when it is convenient for you.
The simulation lab, which is used by all of our healthcare majors, has patient simulators that respond to student care. Simulations are recorded, and afterwards students sit in small groups with a professor to discuss what went well, and what we can do better next time. These simulation labs give students the confidence to do well during their clinicals.

Ian and Mimi Rolland Complex

This is the Rolland Art Complex, which houses our Creative Arts program. Students have access to painting, wood-work, sculpture, textile, photography, and ceramic studios. We also offer industry-standard equipment and studios for graphic design, animation, communication and music technology students.
Our campus houses five separate art galleries, which routinely exhibit celebrated international, national and regional artists. Artists from these galleries regularly speak on campus as part of our Closer-Look Lecture Series, so students can learn directly from artists about their work.
If you want to study art, music or communication, come to Scholarship Talent Day, and our professors will review your portfolio for scholarship consideration.

USF offers some impressive science programs and equipment, and they're all inside Achatz Hall of Science. Our science hall features laboratories and classrooms, a greenhouse, planetarium, and cadaver lab. As a small campus, our students get to use the lab equipment early and often throughout their education.
Our science professors come to us from an impressive variety of backgrounds, giving our students a variety of experts to work with when they're doing their own research. USF students often work one-on-one with professors, attend research conferences and go on field-research trips to places like Australia's Kangaroo Island and the world's third-largest barrier reef in the Bahamas.

Campus Ministry Center

Students use Campus Ministry as a gathering place to discuss scripture, do homework and hang out. Our peer ministry team leads campus-wide activities like the Fair-Trade Coffee House and Koinonia, which in Greek means "community", and it's a weekend-long retreat at the beginning of the semester.
Father David serves as our on-campus university Chaplain and comes to USF with over fifteen years of service as an Army National Guard Chaplain.
Student Center

The USF Student Center was once a carriage house for the Brookside Estate. Now, it's home to the late-night Cougar Café, Student Government Association and Student Activities Council, the student group that plans all of our on-campus events.
It's also a hang out area for students. We have big screen TVs, pool tables and games that include everything from X-Box and my personal favorite the old-school Mrs. Packman arcade games.

This is the Bishop D'Arcy Stadium at the University of Saint Francis, home to the USF Cougar Football Team! Our football team has won ten conference titles in the last fifteen years, and we've got the longest consecutive stretch of being named in the Coach's Top 25 Poll.
In the end zone is the Bruce Dye Football Training Center, which has a special weight room for our student athletes, box seats and extra stadium seating.
USF students have a special student section in the stadium and are encouraged to be part of the team from the stands.

Every hall lets you customize your room with stackable furniture, individual temperature control and wi-fi.

Trinity Hall holds the main student dining hall. It's newly renovated, and we try to stock it with as many organic and locally-sourced products as we can. Trinity is also home to the admissions and financial aid teams. As one of our students, you'll have a personal admissions and financial aid counselor. You can come in whenever you have questions!
USF offers one of the lowest tuition rates of any private institution in the state of Indiana. We awarded over 14 million dollars in institutional aid last year.

The USF Performing Arts Center is housed in the historic Scottish Right building in downtown Fort Wayne, and is a new building for USF. Aside from the classroom space, it offers a two-thousand seat auditorium and a large ballroom.
Every year USF hosts two theatrical performances and a variety of community speakers. We've also partnered with a few Fort Wayne radio stations that use our space as a concert venue for nationally recognized musicians.
