RFU's six colleges and schools include the Chicago Medical School, College of Health Professions, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, and School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Collectively, these colleges offer 30+ healthcare and biomedical science degrees. Each school and program provides specialized degrees and training, uniquely equipping students for fulfilling and successful careers. Sheinin Gross Anatomy Lab

The Gross Anatomy Laboratory serves as a large active learning space for you if your curriculum requires anatomy or clinical anatomy course content. The lab is equipped with 40 touchscreen workstations which you can use to access course notes and dissection videos. Our facility truly shapes the dissection experience by aiming to support your learning in an interactive environment. Additionally, you also have the opportunity of advancing your knowledge through tutoring and small group learning which is supported by the technologies and learning centers of the Anatomy Resource Center.

RFU has a variety of lecture halls and other classrooms that can be used for events and gatherings when class is not in session. Some of these events include Biopathways - a monthly event series featuring prominent bioentrepreneurs, biotech executives and biotech venture capitalists - president town halls, and presentations put on by some of our colleges. In addition, these spaces serve as a hub for student organizations. RFU has over 100 student organizations offering opportunities to relax, pursue other interests, and connect with others who share your interests and offer new perspectives.

RFU's Center for Advanced Simulation is proud to provide you with advanced technology that simulates many facets of clinical practice. In these learning spaces are an Outpatient Clinic that simulates an actual physician's office; the Inpatient Critical Care unit, which replicates an authentic hospital setting; and an operating room that simulates actual surgical settings. Our accredited Center for Advanced Simulation offers the most authentic introduction to real-life practices and technology designed to enhance your clinical skills.

In addition to our simulation center on campus, we also have a Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare located at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital in Huntley, Illinois. This accredited simulation center uses a wide range of methods and technology to guarantee you a highly realistic learning and assessment experience. The 30,000-square-foot facility provides a "virtual health system" that simulates inpatient hospital rooms, a birthing suite, operating room and ambulance. Students practice clinical encounters on high-fidelity manikins and with standardized patients.These simulations spaces provide a safe environment for learning and developing clinical skills, without risk of harm to actual patients.

Innovation and Research Park

In our one hundred thousand square foot Innovation and Research Park, scientists and students are discovering new ways to diagnose and treat devastating diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cystic fibrosis and cancer. But the groundbreaking work in our labs is just the beginning. Changing and saving lives also takes close collaboration with industry partners — innovators who can help translate and accelerate our lab discoveries into desperately-needed therapeutics and diagnostics. Each floor of the building includes shared spaces that facilitate conversation and collaboration between researchers and industry.
Interprofessional Community Clinic

The Interprofessional Community Clinic is a free clinic for the uninsured that serves our surrounding community and provides a valuable clinical opportunity for RFU students. On Thursday evenings, interprofessional teams of clinicians and students from programs including Allopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Podiatric Medicine, and Psychology come together at the RFU Health Clinics to provide basic primary care, behavioral health, physical therapy and podiatric care. In response to community needs, the ICC is expanding its offerings to include specialty services. Leadership opportunities are available for students through the Interprofessional Clinic Initiative, the student organization that coordinates ICC operations.

Clinical partnerships with hospitals and health systems in Chicagoland and throughout the United States provide RFU students with a broad range of experiences serving diverse patient populations. Our clinical partners offer opportunities for our students to learn from leaders in multiple urban, suburban and rural healthcare settings, rather than completing rotations in a single affiliated hospital. RFU students begin clinical training early on and are well-prepared to work in interprofessional teams. This progressive educational training model ultimately yields benefits for our clinical partners in enhanced patient satisfaction, quality patient outcomes, and employee job satisfaction.

Both on-campus and off-campus student housing options offer an independent community with the conveniences of traditional residential programs, such as live-in student community managers, opportunities for community building, and organized activities. RFU's campus and housing facilities are surrounded by abundant green spaces that encourage recreation and socialization. Students often venture outdoors to play disc golf, sand volleyball, tennis, or basketball, or to gather with peers and relax on the lawns. Additionally, many enjoy running or walking along the adjacent trails that wind through our picturesque campus grounds.

Just ask a member of the spirit store's friendly, knowledgeable staff, and they will be happy to help. The city of North Chicago is located in Lake County, Illinois, approximately forty miles north of Chicago and 60 miles south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While you have easy access to bustling, world-class Chicago, Lake County offers a quality of life that is more affordable and slower-paced, with quaint towns, miles of hiking trails, and Lake Michigan's shoreline nearby. The neighboring towns of Lake Bluff and Libertyville are home to some of our students' favorite restaurants and coffee shops. RFU makes scheduled shuttle runs to and from the Metra Union Pacific North commuter train line in Lake Bluff, making trips into Chicago convenient for students.
