We have arrived at the Nathelyne Archie Kennedy Architecuture Building and Fabrication Center, home of the School of Architecture. The School of Architecture is dedicated to preparing students to play a leadership role in shaping the future, rebuilding America's cities, and improving the quality of the built environment. By offering a diverse curriculum led by an accomplished faculty in a computer - and studio-intensive environment, the School of Architecture, educates practitioners and leaders in the professions of architecture, planning, community development, and construction. The Fabrication Center is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology in laser cutters, CNC routers, wood & metal tools, and 3D Printers and it is one of the largest in the state of Texas.

It is time to have some fun, which brings us to the first stop of our student life tour. Welcome to Panther Plaza. This 16,570 square foot retail center houses our Bistro 1876 and other restaurants, a beauty supply, a coffee shop, the Panther Mart, and other support spaces for local businesses. The facility also houses the Panther Lanes bowling center, which is home to our Championship Bowling Team. This a fun area for students to relax, have a great meal, and grab essentials.

Now, we are standing in the Elmer E. Obanion Building that houses the university's largest academic unit, The Marvin D. and June Samuel Brailsford College of Arts and Sciences. It seeks to develop students in the traditional liberal arts skills of critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, and communication. From Chemistry to Political Science to Music and Sociology, the college offers the most varied programs PVAMU. The Undergraduate Medical Academy or UMA is a significant partner to the college and one of the only programs of its kind in the nation. We have made it to your "Home Away from Home." University College is a living and learning community managed by American Campus Communities and designed for first-year students. Students have access to many amenities in the courtyard, including a movie theatre, computer lab, fitness center, and laundry facility. The unique two-bedroom/one-bathroom floor plan offers students a sense of privacy while providing opportunities to foster relationships with their peers. Our upper-level students live in residential communities (University Square, University Village, and the University View) located throughout campus. As a bonus, many of the communities include a clubhouse, study rooms, and computer labs.
Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Farm & Ranch/College of Agriculture & Human Sciences

Prairie View A&M University's College of Agriculture and Human Sciences is home to the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch, a nearly 800 acre facility that supports the academics, extension, and research programs. Students can engage in high-quality, practical, hands-on learning, and experience impactful and novel research through the work of faculty, and effectively contribute to the greater PVAMU community through engaging extension programs. The farm specializes in cattle production, dairy and goat production, forage production, agriculture and natural resources, and horticultural crop production in both field and greenhouse settings.

Welcome to the Military ROTC building. Prairie View A&M University is one of the few Historically Black Colleges/Universities to offer ROTC programs representing all four military branches that is Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Navy). This facility includes classrooms, a computer lab, a Navy simulation lab, and an armory of non-active firearms. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serve in the Military after graduation as commissioned officers.

Welcome to the tallest building in Waller County and students' favorite place to study, our John B. Coleman Library. The library is comprised five floors and holds over 370,000 volumes, including over 700 print periodicals and close to 4,000 media materials. The building includes Jazzman's Cafe, computer labs and study spaces, the Special Collection and Archives, a Reading Room, an art gallery, and the Panther Collaborative Commons. Commonly referred to as the "ClockTower Building," the Agriculture and Business Multipurpose Building is a three-story building featuring a large two-story lecture hall, outdoor patio, classrooms, and private study spaces. In addition, The College of Business offers a Bloomberg Finance Lab that provides students with hands-on training. The College of Business is AACSB International accredited, the highest standard in business education, achieved by only 890 institutions worldwide. Students interested in pursuing careers in the evolving business world have the opportunity to enhance their course of study through hands-on applications or traditional business principles.

Welcome to the Engineering Complex. The complex encompasses 6 buildings and 11 state-of-the-art research centers. The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering is a unique community of students, faculty administrators, and scholars dedicated to the advancement and communication of knowledge in the field of engineering. As a top producer of African American students with bachelor's degrees in engineering, our graduates are prepared to impact the increasingly multi-disciplinary and diverse national economy positively. As you see the front of the building, it might remind you of a courthouse. Founded as the first of its kind, the college offers students a rigorous education specializing in training and research opportunities that prepare them for leadership in roles in academia, law enforcement, and clinical settings. You are now standing in front of the Wilhelmina F. Delco Building. Named after noted politician and higher education leader Wilhelmina Ruth Fitzgerald Delco, the building houses the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education. The College has produced some of Texas' most distinguished teachers, administrators, counselors, principals, diagnosticians, and superintendents. The building has advanced technology-infused classrooms to prepare all future educators and health and kinesiology professionals in an interactive and collaborative space. The College offers research-based instruction through comprehensive programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including a doctoral program and a teacher certification program.

Welcome to the prominent 55,000 square foot Athletics Complex. PVAMU is a charter member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and competes in the Western Division All 18 sports participate in NCAA Division I, and Panther Football plays in Division I FCS. THe Sports Complex encompasses six facilities that support our athletic teams. The complex features an all-grass soccer field, softball field, Tankersley Baseball field, IAAF certified running track, and The William "Billy" J. Nicks, Sr. Building basketball arena.

As we have journeyed through our beautiful campus, we are now standing in the birthplace of PVAMU, Prairie View A&M University is nicknamed the hill because this location is the highest point of elevation in Waller county. The university has six buildings recognized by the national registry for historic places. Here you can see the historic buildings named WR Banks, Evans Hall, Anderson Hall, Hilliard Hall, the Wolford building, and the Poindexter statue. Students will often refer to this area of campus as the yard. If you look around, you'll notice student organizations have decorated trees to recognize their fraternities, sororities and social clubs.

Welcome to the Willie A. Tempton Senior Memorial Student Center or MSC, our student hub on "The Hill" On the first floor of the building, you will find our student cafeteria with an adjacent Chick-Fil-A and Panther Grill, both of which are included in our meal plan. You can also purchase your official PV gear at the Bookstore, enjoy a study break in the Game Room, Check out a laptop at the Kiosk, or visit the computer lab. The Opal Johnson Smith Auditorium hosts various events throughout the school year that attract scholars and community partners. On the second floor are large ballrooms, a student lounge, the Student Government Association Chambers, and Student Engagement Offices. Located on the third floor is the "one-stop-shop" for Enrollment Services. This concept provides excellent customer service to students seeking assistance in completing their enrollment process.

Welcome to the Hobart Thomas Taylor Building, home to our largest and most active student organization on campus, The Marching Storm Band. The Storm is comprised of over 400 band students from various majors and geographical locations. The Department of Music and Theatre shares performance and classroom space in the building. The music program is designated as an All-Steinway School and is the 4th HBCU to receive this title. Our program offers students the opportunity to join the university choir or the Concert Chorale, wind, or orchestra ensembles. The Theatre Program and Charles Gilpin players produce two to four mainstage productions each year in the one hundred fifty seat Anne Campbell Black Box theatre.
