Hello and welcome to Presbyterian College! Here, you'll discover many of the things that make us as unique as our nickname: the Blue Hose. Located in Clinton, South Carolina, our campus sits in the heart of the Upstate, within easy reach of Greenville, Spartanburg, and Columbia. PC has offered its transformative liberal arts education since 1880. You can choose from 90-plus majors, minors, and pre-professional programs. Our three renowned graduate health science programs include the School of Pharmacy, the Physician Assistant Studies Program, and the Occupational Therapy Program. Admissions

The Patrick Center is where you'll find the Admissions Office and where students begin their in-person campus visit. Our admissions staff and student ambassadors love welcoming students and families to PC and showing them around campus. They're eager to answer all of your questions about PC, from "How can I get involved on campus?" and 'What is the vibe like on campus?" to "What exactly is a Blue Hose?" The Patrick Center is also home to the Office of Financial Aid, where you can learn more about scholarships and financial aid opportunities available to you.

Campus Life

Springs Student Center is the heart of campus life at PC. Springs is the place to go to shoot a game of pool or ping pong, study with your friends, or just hang out. Springs is also the hub for student activities and the home of offices like the Office of Student Involvement. You'll find plenty of ways to get involved and serve at PC. Volunteer to help those in need. Play intramural or club sports. Join an academic club. Join a fraternity or sorority. The list goes on. When you get involved on campus, you're able to explore your interests, develop leadership skills, and build long-lasting friendships.

Student Health & Wellness

A comprehensive fitness center is also inside Springs Student Center. Here, you'll have access to cardio equipment, free weights, and workout machines. Springs is where you'll find yoga classes and play intramural sports like basketball and volleyball. Beyond physical fitness, PC prioritizes student well-being through accessible health and counseling services. Students can receive medical support both on and off campus, with counseling available at no charge. These services offer flexible options, including in-person, phone, and virtual sessions. Rest assured you'll receive the help to address your individual health and wellness needs.

On-Campus Dining

You'll find two main dining spots on campus that accept student meal plans: Springs Food Court and Greenville Dining Hall. Springs Food Court is the go-to spot for grabbing a burger or a deli sandwich. You can order to-go if you're in a hurry or enjoy your meal with friends. Plus, there's a Starbucks and grab-and-go snacks available inside Springs. Greenville Dining Hall, or GDH as students call it, offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a spacious setting. Inside GDH, you'll find a variety of options, including grilled and traditional entrées, pizza, comfort foods, and dishes that are free of the top nine major allergens.

Upperclassman Living

As you progress through your college journey, PC's Upperclassman Housing offers a taste of independence and community. Located behind Springs Student Center, these apartment-style residences provide a mature living experience. Each three-story building features four-person units with private bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a shared common area, and a kitchen. With direct outdoor access, surrounding green spaces, and convenient parking, these apartments give students the perfect balance of privacy and social connection. Resident Assistants in each building ensure a supportive environment, helping you transition smoothly into more independent college living.

Humanities Majors

The Humanities represent the heart of our liberal arts tradition. Housed in the iconic Neville Hall, these majors explore the fundamental questions of human experience through disciplines like literature, history, philosophy, and religion. When you study the humanities, you dive deep into critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding—skills that will be essential in any career you choose. The Cornelson Center provides a vibrant gathering space, while Kuhne Auditorium hosts classes and student meetings. Chances are, you'll take classes in Neville, and you'll also pass through it on the day you graduate: It's tradition for students to walk through Neville Hall on Commencement Day, symbolizing their intellectual journey.

Science Majors & Lab Spaces

Research at PC equips you with critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity—skills essential for any career. In the labs of Richardson and Lassiter Halls, students have the tools and space to pursue meaningful research. Whether working independently or alongside professors through the Center for Inquiry, Research, and Scholarship, PC students engage in projects in science-based and all other majors. While the center supports all types of research, science majors often tackle initiatives sponsored by the NIH, NSF, NASA, and others. Many of these projects begin in our labs. Students go on to present their findings during Honors Day and at local, regional, and national conferences.

At PC, you'll find the academic support and resources you need to excel in the classroom. The James H. Thomason Library offers extensive study spaces, including individual and group study rooms, zoned study areas, and a 24-hour study area. With 16 public computers, research databases, and access to nearly 100,000 print volumes, the library helps you reach your highest potential. Need writing assistance? The Writing Center in Neville Hall provides support for any writing assignment. Tutoring services in subjects like business, foreign language, history, math, and science, ensure you have the help you need to succeed.

Career Development

The Office of Career and Professional Development is located in Laurens Hall. This is where students go to explore careers, get help finding internships, and prepare for careers after college. The Tartan Threads career closet is in Laurens Hall too: Here, students choose professional clothing to wear to job interviews, career fairs, and other networking opportunities. Choosing a career is probably not on your radar now. But when the time comes to decide what you want to do after college, the Office of Career and Professional Development in Laurens Hall helps make sure you'll be ready.

International Programs

Brown Commons houses the Office of International Programs and Center for South Korean and Asian Studies. At PC, you'll find study abroad opportunities designed to expand your worldview while earning academic credit. During Maymester, you can travel with faculty for one week to a month, with recent destinations including Fiji, France, Ireland, Japan, and Scotland. You can also study abroad for up to a semester in various global programs. Whether choosing a short-term or extended experience, studying abroad provides transformative learning beyond traditional classrooms, enabling you to immerse yourself in new cultures and perspectives.

Students and graduates often say they fell in love with PC the moment they stepped foot on campus. It's easy to see why: With its grassy plazas and stately red-brick Georgian and Neoclassical buildings, campus is always Instagram-ready. The 240 acres offer lots of space for students to enjoy. You'll often find students throwing the football or frisbee, reading or studying, or catching some rays on Vance Plaza or the East Plaza. Intramural fields provide additional space for students to play sports. Some professors like to hold class outside when the weather allows. Two outdoor spaces students love include the pond on campus and outside Springs Student Center.

Athletics

On several Saturdays in the fall, you'll hear fans cheer for the Blue Hose football team here at Bailey Memorial Stadium. We're the only school in the world with the nickname Blue Hose. It originated when the football team wore blue socks (or "hose") in the 1900s, evolving from "Blue Stockings" to "Blue Hose." The name now pays homage to our Scottish heritage, symbolizing fierce Scottish warriors. We're an NCAA Division I Program with most of our 19 teams in the Big South Conference. Our football team competes in the Pioneer Football League, while men's wrestling competes in the Southern Conference. Beyond competition, our athletics program cultivates leadership, sportsmanship, and community for student-athletes.

Visual Arts, Music, and Theatre

Belk Auditorium is the home of the music department at PC, where we're committed to nurturing creativity and community through the arts. If you're a musician, you can major or minor in music, but you're not required to. Join ensembles like Wind Ensemble, PC Jazz Band, choir, and more. At PC, there are opportunities for you to continue making music in college. If you're a visual artists, pursue an art major or explore art classes through electives. Students exhibit work in the Harper Center Gallery and visit museums in New York and Washington, D.C. Our Introduction to Theatre course offers hands-on experience in creating and adapting plays.

Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy

The compounding lab inside the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy is one place where students balance classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience. Our award-winning faculty are experienced practitioners and student advocates who believe that showing how the classroom relates to practice is fundamental to understanding the profession. And the results speak for themselves: The PC PharmD program has posted the state's highest passage rates on licensure exams. Plus, an average of 97% of students are employed shortly after they graduate. At the PC pharmacy school, you'll enjoy small class sizes and an 8:1 student-faculty ratio in a collaborative community where students build strong professional relationships and gain a comprehensive pharmacy education.

Physician Assistant Studies Program

Students in the Physician Assistant Studies Program, housed in Richardson Hall, access cutting-edge equipment and lab space while preparing for in-demand careers. This two-year master's program offers a comprehensive approach to medical education through classroom learning, lab work, clinical experience, and community service. Students benefit from low student-to-teacher ratios that ensure personalized attention as they prepare for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam. Our small cohort gives students the opportunity to truly connect with classmates who will soon become their medical colleagues. Graduates from our PA program serve in almost every area of medicine.

Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program

In the newly renovated Bailey Hall, Occupational Therapy students have access to a robust environmental simulation center and lab spaces. This eight-semester doctoral program offers a comprehensive mix of classroom learning, lab work, clinical experience, and service-based community involvement. The approach prepares students for the work of an OT, which is to help clients who have experienced injury, disease, or illness restore and enhance their daily occupations. Many faculty are practicing clinicians who help students gain real-world insights and professional connections. The field shows promising growth, with a significantly higher employment increase expected until 2030. OT is an exciting career path if you're aspiring to become a healthcare professional.
