Welcome to Polk State College, home of the Eagles. Since 1964, Polk has been providing quality, affordable educational programming to students. Today Polk offers students Bachelor's as well as Associate's degrees and professional certificates. Join me and explore just a few of the highlights of our lakeside Winter Haven, Florida Campus!

Fine Arts Building

The Fine Arts Building hosts several programs in the arts ranging from Music to Theatre and Visual Arts. Polk State's performers present their work in the 500-seat Main Stage Theatre and the 90-seat Black Box Theatre. The Fine Arts Building houses the Winter Haven Fine Arts Gallery, featuring regular student and professional exhibits for the school and the public. The gallery also displays the private collections of well-known professional athletes and Florida Governors.

Located in the heart of campus close to the Fine Arts Building and Student Center, there's open, grassy space for a range of outdoor activities. Trees provide natural shade if you're looking to duck out of the sun. Students can read or bring their laptops to a patch of lawn, enjoy a snack, toss a Frisbee around, or just hang out with friends in a convenient, relaxed setting.

Polk State's Student Center on the east side of campus is where much of our student activity takes place daily. Students stop by to pick up textbooks at the campus Bookstore, watch TV or play a game with friends, or eat a fresh meal. Polk State offers dozens of student clubs and organizations as well, from Drama to Archaeology, Greek life and International clubs. Another important aspect of the Student Center is its LEED Green Building certification. This is the first fully-sustainable construction on campus and features recycled materials, a state-of-the-art energy management system, smart plumbing that reduces water use, and more.

The centrally-located Learning Resources Building (or WLR) serves as one of Polk State's primary academic buildings. This building was one of the four original structures on campus when the college opened its Winter Haven location in 1968. In addition to housing classrooms, labs and faculty offices, the building is also a destination for visiting guest experts, workshops and other special events.

Administration Building

The 55,000-square-foot Administration Building, located on the south side of campus, is home to several key Polk State offices. Students will come to the building for help with admissions and registration, academic support, financial aid, career guidance, and more. On the first floor students have access to computer kiosks where they can check grades and register for classes.

Chain of Lakes Building

Just west of the Administration Building is the Chain of Lakes High School Complex. Chain of Lakes is a collegiate charter high school operated by Polk State College, offering high school and college-level study to advanced high school upperclassmen. Students accepted attend free of tuition.

Health Center

Located on the west side of campus, directly next to the Criminal Justice Building, is the Winter Haven Health Center. The 30,000-square-foot building is open to students, staff, faculty and the community. It houses a beautiful gymnasium where the men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams play, and also a comprehensive fitness room with weight training and cardio equipment. For Eagle athletics, the center features athletic training facilities, locker rooms, meeting rooms and coaches offices.

Science & Math Building

The Science and Math Building, located on the north end of campus, is home to several Mathematics, Biological Science and Physical Science Departments. The building houses labs, classrooms and offices designed to support student learning guided by the outstanding faculty here.
