Welcome to the entrance of Creighton Hall, the primary home for the School of Pharmacy, along with various other programs. In this location you see other important features of our shared space. We have a cafe for coffee or a quick bite to eat. You also see a Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center Clinic and Pharmacy which is housed in our building. Some of our faculty practice ambulatory care pharmacy in this clinic and many students will complete projects or 6-week rotations here during their final year. Having a clinic on site provides ample opportunity for collaboration and learning.

Our biomedical library is located on the second floor of Creighton Hall. The library provides quiet study spaces as well as various research references, both online and in print. Most online resources, such as drug information databases and electronic textbooks, are available to students anytime via web portals. The College of Health Professions Library has its own full time health science research librarian who can act as a resource for refining research questions or finding resources for students and faculty.
Pharmacy Classroom

Here we find one of two main classrooms at the School of Pharmacy. Each classroom holds around 100 students and is where students spend the majority of their time during the first two years in the program. Each room is devoted to either the first- or second-year students, and provides a great opportunity to build strong relationships with peers while on campus. Each room is bordered by 6 breakout rooms for team-based learning in which tables and large computer monitors allow ample room for small group discussion and collaboration. Lectures are displayed via dual projectors from computers or document cameras with full connectivity for audio and video recording.
Curricular Innovations Lab

Our Curricular Innovations, or CI, Lab is a multiuse room capable of various configurations to support student learning. The space contains an accordion wall, movable height adjustable tables, and stackable chairs to allow for different room configurations for a variety of activities. These include occasional compounding labs, frequent small team activities, hands on clinical practice labs, presentations using the multiple screens, student organization meetings, and more. When not used for curricular activities, students use the spaces for studying or eating lunch, since the student lounge with multiple refrigerators and microwaves is conveniently located next door.

Pacific prides itself on being learner centered and student driven while ensuring low student to teacher ratios. We strive to provide students with the focus and attention needed to succeed. Most faculty offices are located on the same floor as the classrooms, with faculty having an open door policy for students to reach out with questions. Our faculty are experts in a wide array of specialty areas including primary care, infectious disease, oncology, community pharmacy, and pharmacy sciences research. We strive to build strong relationships between students, faculty, and staff, and look forward to welcoming new students to the Pacific University family.
Pharmaceutical Science Research Lab

Our 4500 square foot pharmacy science lab provides space for faculty and students to conduct foundational research in areas such as pharmacokinetics, medicinal chemistry, toxicology, oncology, neuroscience, infectious disease, and natural products. We use cutting edge instruments and techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry, fluorescence microscopy, microarrays, and flow cytometry to conduct chemical and analytical analysis, molecular biology, and tissue cultures. Students may be involved in research through summer research scholarships, elective courses, a research learning track in our curriculum, advanced pharmacy practice experiences in the program's final year, and through our dual degree Masters in Pharmaceutical Science program.
Downtown Amenities

As important as school is, we also think it's important to enjoy time away from campus to rejuvenate. Our campus is centrally located in Hillsboro, OR and is only about a 5 minute walk to downtown Hillsboro where students can find cafes, pubs, coffee shops, bakeries, and various shopping options. This is an example of a downtown Hillsboro coffee shop that is a Pacific University student favorite. If downtown Hillsboro amenities aren't enough to satisfy your search for adventure, our campus is also centrally located between the Oregon Coast and Mount Hood, where you can surf, ski, hike, or bike, with Portland city life in between. Truly something for everyone!
