Welcome to New York Institute of Technology's Long Island campus! This campus is nestled among 176 wooded and landscaped acres in Old Westbury that comprise several former Gold Coast estates. Here's the Academic Quad—one of the most active places on campus! Between classes, the quad is always full of students hanging out, eating lunch, or catching up on some work. Around you, you'll see three buildings—Anna Rubin Hall, Harry Schure Hall, and Theobald Science Center. Our small class sizes offer a collaborative learning experience, with dedicated faculty members who are experts in their fields and bring real-world experience, clients, and challenges to the classrooms.

Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center and Business Incubator

The Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC) is a business accelerator that brings together industry, government, and academia to foster economic development across the New York metropolitan region. The ETIC has been designated as a certified incubator by the Empire State Development Corp. to provide support for start-up businesses, including entrepreneurial and high-tech training, commercialization guidance, networking opportunities, and staff recruitment. New York Tech students gain practical, on-the-job experience and develop entrepreneurial skills and professional networks that help them launch careers after graduation. You'll learn to apply the knowledge you gain in the classroom with real-world, open-ended design projects with the guidance of industry experts and advisors.

That's why we're consistently updating and upgrading our classrooms with the latest technologies to make sure you get the most out of each and every class. Computer Labs

Many of our classes blend online and in-person coursework. We have several computer labs on campus so you can do research, write a paper, run complex simulations, test your designs, and map a blueprint... basically whatever software you need can be found in one of our computer labs.

Engineering and Computing Sciences Lab

See how classroom theory translates into applied research in our on-campus labs and facilities. You'll work with the same tools and equipment used by computer scientists, engineers, and other industry professionals. Some of the engineering facilities on our Long Island campus include an Aerodynamics Lab, a Bio-Nanotechnology and Biomaterials Lab, a Cybersecurity Lab, a Fabrication and Rapid Prototpying Lab, and a Geographical Information Systems Lab...just to name a few!

Biological and Chemical Sciences Labs

At our sustainably designed Theobald Science Center, you'll conduct experiments while researching molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and histology, among other areas of life sciences. We offer a variety of degree programs, including dual degree programs in the health professions which allow you to graduate with two degrees in less time. In addition to appropriate technical instrumentation, each state-of-the-art lab has a large TV monitor and writing surfaces that deliver shared instructional information. Our biology and chemistry laboratories accommodate the needs of individuals as well as teams, and are supported by skilled technicians who maintain the equipment and necessary chemicals and specimens for efficient, effective instruction.

Health Professions Labs

We have many health professions labs where aspiring nurses, occupational therapists, physician assistants, and physical therapists are being trained to meet health care needs. These students gain practical experience in classrooms integrated with technology that includes simulated patients and sophisticated medical equipment. Comprehensive clinical experiences follow classroom learning. Our Center for Global Health gives students from all disciplines the opportunity to travel to underserved countries such as Ghana, Haiti, and El Salvador to learn about global cultures and health care issues, engage in research, and help communities.

NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine

As one of the largest medical schools in the United States, our College of Osteopathic Medicine provides research, clinical training, and job opportunities for our students. Medical students collaborate with faculty on Parkinson's Disease, heart, and kidney research and participate in health projects around the world. Research activities at NYITCOM encompass a range of areas—from basic biology, clinical medicine, and patient outcomes to health policy, global health, and medical education. Additionally, the Riland Academic Health Care Center provides medical services to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community, and gives students hands-on experience.

Medical Quad

This is the Medical Quad. The surrounding buildings are where students in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and School of Health Professions take a majority of their classes. Students often come outside to study under the trees or practice their new techniques outdoors among their friends and peers. The quad is home to perhaps the most visible commitment to student wellness: The Healing Path, which winds around the iconic pond near the medical school. The student-led initiative, opened in 2017, leverages the beauty of the Long Island campus to create spaces for self-reflection and decompression.

3-D Motion Capture Lab

In the Midge Karr Fine Arts Design Center, digital artists work closely with an accomplished faculty of professional artists, designers, and animators. It is home to our 32-camera Motion Capture Lab—equipped with technology used for animation and video game development, as well as interdisciplinary research in healthcare and engineering. Digital art and design students students use motion capture, gaming, 3-D printing, and state-of-the-art graphics hardware and software. They may specialize in computer graphics, graphic design, art and technology and UX/UI design and development. The interior design program offers opportunities for students to gain real-world experience, such as designing homes for the disabled or presenting at worldwide fairs and competitions.

Architecture and Interior Design Studios

Within Education Hall, there are classrooms, studios, an architecture library, and an art gallery for students to work on designs, renderings, and projects. Our architecture and design programs offer a cutting-edge curriculum and hands-on projects that start in the classroom, branch out into the community, and may even take them around the world. Our Fabrication Labs connect you to advanced digital maker fabrication technology and facilitate the production of highly accurate physical models through a range of equipment including computer controlled laser cutters, 3-D printers, CNC routers, and traditional wood shop machines. Our experienced staff is on-site and available to train and help you operate the equipment.

Your college experience will also be shaped by the way you choose to spend your time outside the classroom. We encourage all students to get involved in extracurricular activities in one way or another... You can participate in more than 60 clubs and organizations around campus. Gain practical experience, participate in conferences and competitions, and learn from experts in professional organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Student Nursing Association, the American Institute of Architecture Students, and more. Or, volunteer and grow your skillset (and your resume!) doing community service or by participating in events like our annual Relay for Life.

We offer several dining locations to grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a quick snack whenever you want. At our convenient locations like Cafe Orso (Orso means Bear in Italian) in the Student Activities Center, and in Salten Hall, Education Hall, and Riland Cafe, you can hang out with friends and enjoy a diverse menu of delicious food, drinks, and snacks, all with distinct diets and allergy considerations in mind.

NYIT de Seversky Mansion

Walk through the estate's manicured gardens and grand rooms and find yourself transported to the heyday of Long Island's opulent Gold Coast. Built in 1918, the NYIT de Seversky Mansion embodies the glamour and style of the era. Many student events, conferences, and celebrations take place in the mansion in addition to weddings and corporate events. You couldn't ask for a more tranquil or beautiful setting on campus to study in our outdoor seating areas on the lake behind the mansion.
