Thousands of students, faculty, staff and future Spartans pass through the "Heart of Campus" that is known dearly as the "Quad." Serving as a focal point for Norfolk State University, it creates a culture and sense of community for everyone in all walks of life. It consists of the newly construction library, communication tower, state of the art academic classroom building, renovated performing arts theater, nursing and general education building. NSU has warmly embraced the new additions to the campus.

The Student Center is widely known as the hub of the Spartan campus experience and is committed to providing a gathering place for educational experiences among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community. It is a great place to hang with fellow Spartans, grab a bite to eat at Chic-Fil-A or Tropical Smoothie, workout, or grab a special item from the university bookstore.

Our Student Services Center here on our campus offers you a one-stop shop for all of your student needs. Deciding to apply to Norfolk State University and start your legacy means that you are committed to educational excellence. We are determined to help you reach your full potential from our Admissions office, to Financial Aid, Counseling, and Career Services. Located on the first floor of the Student Service Center, our Spartan Lanes offers good bowling fun in a great environment. IT'S GAME TIME!!! Joseph G. Echols Hall with a seating capacity of 4,500 people is ranked in the upper half of the MEAC in terms of total capacity. As Norfolk State's primary athletics facility it features a brand new $1.6 million video board and sound system and a floating floor that provides more give to help lessen the potential for injuries.

BEHOLD THE GREEN AND GOLD! Built-in 1997, the recently renovated William Dick Price Stadium named after the winningest football coach in NSU history has a seating capacity of over 30,000 people and is recognized as one of the largest sports and entertainment venues in Hampton Roads. This home of the Spartans is also one of the largest Division I Football Championship Subdivision on-campus football stadiums in terms of capacity. Featuring a top-of-the-line million-dollar artificial turf field, and two new state-of-the-art LED video display boards this home of the Spartans and award-winning Marching Spartan Legion is surely one to be reckoned with.

The Lyman Beecher Brooks Library is the center of Norfolk State University's campus. Here you will be provided a state of the art environment with access to broad and diverse scholarly resources and innovative technologies that empower users to transform information into knowledge thus developing them into lifelong learners, engaged leaders, and productive global citizens.

The New G.W.C. Brown Memorial Hall is a three-story, 154,000 square foot academic building. Brown Hall houses the School of Business, the Ernest M. Hodge Institute for Entrepreneurship, as well as the Honors College. Students will also find our brand new Mass Communications lab, state of the art classrooms, meeting rooms, study areas, and student lounges.

This is the new home of the nationally recognized, award-winning NSU Theatre Company. The building houses the box office, costume shop, scene shop, Mainstage Theater, Studio Theater, and Amphitheater.

The Mass Communications and Journalism Department offers instruction in theory, skills and criticism. The Department prepares graduates for careers in the media industries. Students have access to a state-of-the-art video production studio, advanced editing facilities, and thriving campus media that include a newspaper, a radio station, and two cable channels.
