The Dennos Museum Center is the largest multicultural center north of Grand Rapids, Michigan and along with multiple changing art galleries, houses one of the largest Inuit Art collections in the nation. A recent 50,000 square foot addition has created more gallery space for both temporary and permanent exhibits, making it one of the regions 'must see' venues.. Within the Dennos Museum Center is the Milliken Auditorium, a 350 seat performance hall that hosts numerous cultural events including: concerts, performances and TedX. Admission to the museum and the events is free for NMC students.

Scholars Hall contains general purpose classrooms, the photography laboratory, International Services, the Writing & Reading Center, the White Pine Press student newspaper office, faculty offices for Communications and Social Sciences and many student study areas. It's also the home to our 120 seat lecture hall, but you'll never have a class in it. Here at NMC, we don't believe in large classroom sizes. With a student to professor ratio of 19:1 and an avg class size of 24, you're guaranteed individual attention and a personal learning experience.

The Tannis Building is our administrative building and for your convenience, houses the Enrollment Services office, which is your true one-stop shop. NMC understands all too well how overwhelming college can be, so we built an office to make sure you have everything you need once you walk through our doors. So whether you have 1 question or 101 questions, we can handle it all in one convenient location. NMC's math center and Technology HelpDesk are also located in the Tanis Building.

Attached to the Health Science and Tanis Buildings, the Biederman building is the home to classrooms, our Health Services Office and the faculty offices for our math, science and health occupations departments. As you have already heard, NMC's commitment to students goes well beyond the classroom and ensuring that our students are healthy, is a top priority. Because of that, our Health Services Office provides free medical services for its students, that are typically provided at community Walk-in-Clinics or Urgent Care facilities. You will also find a comfortable atrium that celebrates the diversity and culture that students from 29 different countries bring to our campus community.

Centrally located on campus, the Health & Science Building houses NMC's bookstore, our Health Occupations Program and our Math and Science programs. The Health Science Building is also home to our nationally accredited nursing and dental assistant programs. NMC is a proud partner with Munson Medical Center, one of the nations Top 100 hospitals; they are magnet certified for nursing and are a teaching hospital. Along with the bookstore, the buildings is the home to our state-of-the-art nursing and dental assisting labs, our Science Center, greenhouse and various classroom settings.

Welcome to East Hall, the first year/freshman experience that provides a community conducive to healthy living and learning. The residence halls features a convenience store for easy meal and snack options, open community spaces for the students to hang out, and offers regular academic and social events. Each room in East Hall is suite-style, with two rooms adjoined by one bathroom. It comes with free cable TV, free WiFi, a mini refrigerator and a microwave. Although NMC does not require that students live on campus, doing so makes for a rewarding and traditional college experience for our students coming right after high school.

Our newly renovated and rededicated Fine Arts Building houses our music and art programs. The Shirley S. Okerstrom Fine Arts Building was the last building in the United States designed by famed director of Bauhaus, and architect, Walter Gropius in 1969. Whether for leisure or toward a degree, the Fine Arts building offers an array of great opportunities in the visual and performing arts.

The Beckett Building was named for James J. Beckett and is home to our Business, Computer Information Technology and Visual Communications programs. With Traverse City being a thriving town comprised of varying businesses, this building houses one of our more popular academic programs and includes a number of computer labs; including a dedicated Mac Lab with 3D printing capabilities.. The Beckett Building, along with the Fine Arts Building, is located toward the back of campus.

NMC has 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom on-campus apartments that are ideal for students 21 years of age and older. All apartments are non-smoking and pet-free. Our apartments are unfurnished and equipped with major kitchen appliances. Basic utilities are included in the rent. There are laundry facilities in the basement of each of our three apartment buildings. Assigned parking is available for tenants and guests, as well!

The Rajkovich Physical Education center has a gymnasium, dance studio, yoga studios, classrooms and a childcare center. In 1969, it was named after Nick Rajkovich, a former faculty member who developed the NMC physical education program. The childcare center, in partnership with Munson Hospital, is a great opportunity for our students with children; all PE programming, intramurals and drop-in sports are in this building as well.

In August 2017 NMC opened its second year or transfer student Residence Hall. The four bed, two bath, fully-furnished apartment-style suites feature a full kitchen and living room with private key card entry. Amenities include free cable TV, air conditioning, wireless internet and data ports in every suite. Both East and North Halls offer laundry facilities and free access to the on campus fitness facility.

So it's no surprise that NMC was listed as one of the Top 50 colleges in the nation to attend in the summertime.
