Hepburn Hall

Welcome to Hepburn Hall. Opened in 1929, this historic landmark is the original building at NJCU and now serves as the university's welcome center. It houses the Office of the President, and all student enrollment services such as the offices of Admissions and Financial Aid. The President of NJCU is firmly committed to student success and making college affordable to every student. Evidence of this commitment is Washington Monthly's recent ranking of NJCU in the Top 10 for "Best Bang for the Buck" institutions in the Northeast. NJCU tuition is the lowest of the public four-year universities in New Jersey, with over 75% of our students receiving financial aid

Guarini Library

The Guarini Library is the central academic resource and one of the most popular student and research gathering spaces on campus. The recently renovated library has been upgraded with the latest is technologies to facilitate individual student and small group research and studies. Home to numerous special collections and online databases, the team of student-focused librarians are committed to working with students to take their academic work to the next level In response to our students' needs, the library also now houses a state of the art tutoring center, known as 'The HUB', which offers numerous workshops, resources and individual or group tutoring services available to all students

Raines Plaza

Raines Plaza is our beautifully landscaped oasis that is at the center of campus and serves as a wonderful place to meet up with your classmates to the get the latest 411 before heading off to your next class. At the center of Raines Plaza is the infinity fountain, which runs year-round and is a favorite spot for students to hang out and wish for luck before their next exam

Vodra Hall

Vodra Hall is one of three residence halls at NJCU and has been designed to foster a vibrant living learning community. All suites in this residence hall are laid out in a suite-style with four students sharing two bedrooms and a private connecting bathroom. Vodra has laundry facilities, shared kitchen and lounges on each floor, game rooms, as well as a full cafeteria. NJCU has intentionally located the centers for Academic Advisement and Career Services in Vodra Hall, as well as the Health and Wellness Center, to insure that these important resources are always easily accessible

Rossey Hall

Rossey Hall houses a number of our highly acclaimed academic programs…including the Music, Dance, and Theater program. Billboard Magazine ranked NJCU's Music Business program among the top ten in the United States and many of their music and theatre performance alumni have gone on to successful careers on Broadway Rossey is also home to our fast-growing and competitive Nursing program that was recently ranked the 2nd best in New Jersey and top 20% nationally by Nurse Journal

The Professional Studies building houses NJCU's public safety and security programs, the departments of Criminal Justice, Fire Science and National Security. Our National Security program has been designated a center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the US Department of Homeland Security. The College of Education prides itself on focusing on preparing students for real life teaching experiences. Our graduates leave us ready not just for a teaching job, but for a teaching career. NJCU recently was ranked first in the state of New Jersey for 'resiliency' in the teaching profession, with more alumni still teaching after five years than any other program in the state

This is the Science Building where research, technology, and experimentation meet! A major renovation of the Science building is nearly complete and this expanded and modernized facility will provide significantly more state of the art laboratories, technology, and classroom space to the campus and to our fastest growing programs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology. The new Science building is designed to facilitate student engagement in research projects with their faculty research mentor. Research is the cutting edge of discovery, and students graduate from NJCU knowing that they have asked original questions and have something real to show for their work when they are ready to kick-start their career.

The Gilligan Student Union Building, known to us as G-SUB is the social hub of NJCU and the center of campus life. This building houses our Student Government Organizations, Fraternities, Sororities as well as our student clubs and societies. It has a gourmet student dining hall, our bookstore, game spaces and art galleries…and is home to the Gothic Times, our award winning student newspaper. Most days and nights at G-SUB are packed with activities, parties, and performances and if you aren't careful can easily distract you from your studies. But most importantly, G-SUB is where most students come to hang out, lounge in between classes, and build lasting friendships

Welcome to our newest building on campus, Karnoutsos Hall! The facility is dedicated to the arts and sciences, features state-of-the-art classrooms, 10 different computer labs, and is home to the extraordinary NJCU Honors Program. Our Honors students are challenged to take up leadership roles, drawing upon both their academic work and hands-on experiences, to seek deep understanding and solutions to society's most complex and culturally diverse issues. Coop Hall has traditionally been where our new students call home during their first year at NJCU. Conveniently located, Coop is a traditional corridor-style residence hall with common area bathrooms, laundry and kitchen facilities as well as study lounges and computer labs. From your first step onto the grounds of the Visual Arts Building, you can't help but being provoked to dream and create. At the center of the garden courtyard is an installation of world-renowned artist Maya Lin's sculpture named simply, "Art". You will often find students sitting among this inspiring piece of public art planning their next artistic endeavor. The Visual Arts Building is a modern day oasis for students to explore and cultivate their creative expression. NJCU has lively programs and dedicated studios and lab spaces for ceramics, drawing, jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Welcome to the John J. Moore Athletic and Fitness Center or simply, the J-MAC! This state-of-the-art building features a 2,000-seat basketball arena, a fully-equipped fitness center, regulation-sized pool, racquetball courts, an elevated jogging track, and exercise rooms. All available to our students free of charge! J-MAC and the nearby Gerrity Athletic Complex is home to our competitive Division III athletics programs in Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball. NJCU is a member of the New Jersey Athletics Conference, one of the most competitive Division III conferences in the country In addition to our varsity sports, J-MAC is also central to all our lively intramural sports programs

"NJCU is currently in the midst of a major expansion, which will allow our students to live, work and succeed without having to leave Jersey City. In the Fall of 2016, the first of our buildings opened on the West Side Campus, officially welcoming residential students to University Place. This expansion nearly doubled the physical footprint of the university and transformed the opportunities available for our students. We are in the process of creating the model of the new urban campus and in addition to a new residence hall, we will have cafes, shops, a Performing Arts Center, and public outdoor spaces The new residence hall, features suite-style apartments, each with living areas, kitchenettes and private bathrooms. We are currently accepting applications and encourage you to explore and apply for housing at this new state of the art facility. "
