Welcome to Moravian University. With small class sizes and expansive academics, Moravian University is both selective and accessible, rooted in an "education-for-all" inclusiveness that we pioneered. Moravian has constantly evolved over 280 years and now carries university recognition, reflecting the richness of our undergraduate, graduate, and research offerings. We begin the tour of our Main Street Campus by crossing Main Street to the front of Comenius Hall, one of the university's historic academic buildings. Comenius Hall contains classrooms and faculty offices for the History, Religion, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics and Business departments. Comenius Hall includes Borhek Chapel, a 70-seat sanctuary, enhanced by all-original furnishings and stained-glass windows. While we have a rich history, we also offer a 21st-century education, utilizing technology for today's ever-changing, fast-paced world. In fact, Moravian provides a MacBook Pro and iPad to every incoming student and has been named an Apple Distinguished School since 2018.

The Academic Quad is where you'll find many of your classrooms and faculty offices. Memorial Hall houses classrooms. If you're looking for the Academic Dean's office or the Registrar, you'll need to visit Monocacy Hall, which also houses the Accessibility Services Center. Zinzendorf Hall is home to our English Department. It contains classrooms and the Writing Center, a student-staffed tutoring center providing assistance with all types of writing assignments. There's also Hamilton Hall, which houses faculty offices.

Here we are in Reeves Library, which has more than 300,000 print volumes and offers access to countless electronic resources, journals, and databases. The Veteran's Lounge can be found on the first floor. On the lower level, you will find periodicals, journals, newspapers, our rare books collection, the Zinczenko New Media Center, and the IT Help Desk. It's a comfortable place to hang out, do homework, or get together with friends.

A reminder of Moravian's founding date, the 1742 Plaza is at the very center of the Main Street Campus. It marks the spot at which our first-year students gather each fall to begin the traditional Moravian Mile walk with our President to our South Campus, as part of their orientation weekend. It is also the starting point for the homecoming parade, with the Greyhound Marching Band leading the way. Our sorority and fraternity members have a blast riding their floats to the football game every fall.

The Collier Hall of Science features a SuperLab complex for chemistry, a computational modeling and geographic information systems lab, and a renovated faculty research lab, lobby, and seminar room. The GIS laboratory allows for high-end computing and sophisticated analysis of scientific data. Chemistry is located on the first level. The lower level houses Physics and Earth Science, and the upper level houses Biology. Each floor has general labs for class meetings, research labs for faculty and student use, as well as periodical rooms with reference books.

The Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex, also known as PPHAC, serves as the academic hub for the university's Main Street Campus and features many technology-enhanced learning spaces. It contains classroom space, computer labs, and faculty offices. It houses the departments of Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology, and Education. From small seminar rooms to tiered classrooms, the spaces are built to deliver an optimal learning experience.

In 2017, Moravian University opened the doors to the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences, a 55,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility hosting classes for both undergraduate and graduate programs, including nursing, informatics, math and computer science, and the health sciences. The building is named in honor of former Moravian trustee, Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz and, when opened, featured the region's only virtual cadaver lab.

The Haupert Union Building or HUB for short is where student wellness, mental health support, and academic and career resources take center stage. By fall 2025, students will experience a new student center focused on their success as a whole that includes a revamped health and counseling center, a reimagined space for veterans, a larger footprint for the Career and Civic Engagement team to prepare students for their dream job, and much more! Even during construction, students, faculty and staff can stop in to the Star Restaurant or any one of our additional dining options for a coffee, burger, or even sushi. In the new HUB students will connect with others in our Student Life Suite…and crush their stress in our Wellness Center.

The Blue & Grey Cafe is your convenience location on our Main Street Campus, featuring lunch, dinner, and late-night options. The cafe serves burgers, sandwiches, burritos, milkshakes, fresh Mediterranean food, sushi, and more. Plus, you can always grab a Starbucks coffee, chai tea, or hot chocolate. Another option available in the HUB is The Star Restaurant, a bright, modern dining area that serves a variety of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—including a sustainable table, omelet station, and pizza cafe. The Star is our largest on-campus dining facility and is a completely nut-free dining experience. Moravian is recognized nationally as a top campus for food allergies.

The athletic complex behind the HUB is called John Makuvek Field, and includes a turf field, lights, and a press box for the complex. The field is home to our men's and women's soccer teams, our field hockey squad, and our men's and women's lacrosse teams. Makuvek Field is in the heart of Moravian's campus, surrounded by residence halls, and is used for recreation all year long. Soak up a panoramic view of Makuvek Field and cheer on your fellow greyhounds from one of our new outdoor terraces at the HUB student center. Each May it is transformed to host Moravian University's commencement ceremonies.

There are so many great housing options at Moravian University. Some upperclassmen opt to live in the Laurel Street Townhouses or Hillside residences. There are five-and six-person townhouse suites where students either have single or shared bedrooms, a common living area, kitchen, and bathrooms.

Around the dorm circle are the residence halls where our first year students live. Both Bernhardt-Wilhelm and Rau Hassler dorms are co-ed residences. They have four floors, with a bathroom with shower facilities on each floor. A laundry room and kitchen are located in the hall's basements. There are also great lobby spaces equipped with fireplaces and large TVs to enjoy with friends. Nearby is Jo Smith, one of Moravian's all-female residence halls.

Moravian University's 10,000 square-foot fitness center has cardio equipment and weight machines that can help keep anyone active. Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, summit climbers, stair masters, and rowers are lined up ready for use. The equipment includes plugs for earbuds to access one of six 55-inch televisions. And a full line of strength equipment covers every muscle group. You'll also find a large free-weight area in the fitness center. The athletics and recreation complex also includes the Breidegam Field House where teams practice and Johnston Hall where our volleyball and basketball teams practice and play their home games.

At the Steel Athletics Complex, our football team plays on Rocco Calvo Field. The Track and Field teams compete on the nearby Timothy Breidegam Track, which features an eight-lane Mondo Super X Performance track, the same surface used in the stadiums that host the Summer Olympics. Overlooking the field is the Steel Field Grandstand, a unique feature of the complex and a fan favorite, originally built by Bethlehem Steel for their club soccer team in the early 1900's. Also at the complex are the Blue and Grey softball field, the Hoffman tennis courts, and Gillespie field where the baseball team competes.

Moravian University opened the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in 2016. The 43,000 square-foot building is home to the university's Master of Science in Athletic Training, Doctor of Athletic Training, as well as the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate, and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs. 10,000 square feet of the building is also designated for St. Luke's University Health Network.

Moravian University's Hurd Campus or South campus, as it is commonly called, lies at the heart of historic downtown Bethlehem. Considered by Money Magazine as a top city in the country to live, Bethlehem has an active downtown, offering students a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and more. There is a noticeable college town feel to Bethlehem thanks to the nearby campuses of Moravian University and Lehigh University.

Founded in 1745, the Moravian Book Shop is the oldest bookstore in America, the oldest continuously operating bookstore in the world, and home to the Moravian University student bookstore.

One of the most historic buildings on campus is Brethren's House, which was built in 1748. During the Revolutionary War, George Washington visited Bethlehem and used it as a field hospital to treat wounded American soldiers. The building houses Moravian University's distinguished All-Steinway Music Department. Classrooms, practice rooms, and studios line its first two floors. Moravian's talented music students perform in Foy Concert Hall, an outstanding venue for music and dance, and Peter Hall, a concert hall with large stained glass windows depicting music, drama, literature, religion, science, and education.

As you look around our South Campus from the Pleasure Gardens, you'll see the statue of Moravian University's founder Benigna von Zinzendorf. She is surrounded by a number of interesting places to live, eat, and play. Main Hall is a women's residence. Clewell Dining Hall is the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You'll also find Payne Gallery, an exhibition space for art students, faculty, and contemporary artists. The Art Department is located nearby, with classrooms for painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics. Senior Art students are provided with private studio space where creativity happens.
