Welcome to Maryville University of St. Louis, a small private university located in the city of Town and Country, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. The school was founded in 1872 by a Roman Catholic order and initially existed as a junior college for women. Today, Maryville University is a coeducational liberal arts institution that awards four-year degrees in academic areas like the humanities, social sciences, health professions, business, and education. Located near the library, the Art and Design Building houses classrooms and studios for those students enrolled in classes in interior design, printmaking, painting, and photography. The Pre-College Art & Design Summer Program allows high school students to utilize the college facilities and hone their art skills under the guidance of the Maryville faculty.

The 30,000-square-foot Anheuser-Busch Academic Center is a bustling academic facility home to the following: The College of Arts and Sciences, the John E. Simon School of Business, and the School of Health Professions. It directly connects to two other academic buildings and also houses faculty offices and computer labs.

Duchesne Residence Hall is one of several residence options at Maryville and houses both male and female students. Rooms are double occupancy and come furnished with beds, dressers, desks, and closets. The ground floor features snack machines, a kitchen, a large common area, and a 24-hour computer lab.

Inside Gander Hall is the important Student Service Center; this is where you will head for course registration, transcript requests, and inquiries regarding your academic records. It is also home to the Center for Civic Engagement and Democracy, as well as the Center for Global Education. In addition to the above, you will frequently find yourself in Gander Hall for its dining facility, which serves three meals a day, seven days a week.

Kernaghan Hall is home to science classrooms and laboratories used by several departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. The building is named after Sister Marie Kernaghan, who was the first female to receive a Ph.D from Saint Louis University; she also taught at Maryville University for more than fifty years.

The Maryville University Library serves students by supplementing classroom instruction through its collection of print and digital materials. With 54,000 square-feet of space and a recent renovation, the Library contains approximately 250,000 volumes. If you cannot find a particular book, interlibrary loan opens up the collections of other Missouri libraries to Maryville students.

McNally House is named after the university's fifth president, who greatly expanded the nursing school options. It serves as the continuing education center, which helps current professionals maintain their licensures and update their skills. Classes, programs, and training sessions meet at a variety of times in order to offer schedules that work for all continuing education students.

Reid Hall was one of the first buildings constructed on the Maryville campus. It is named after Mother Mary Reid, who served as president of the university for a number of years and was responsible for transitioning Maryville from junior college to four-year university. Today, Reid Hall is primarily home to classrooms as well as a technology help center.

The John E. and Adaline Simon Athletic Center is an integral facility for the athletic pursuits of Maryville students. They can choose to compete on a varsity level or take advantage of intramural offerings that include dodge ball, soccer, and Frisbee golf. The fitness center housed within has long hours of operation to accommodate the varied schedules of students and it is free to the entire campus community.

The Office of Student Life is responsible for facilitating social and meaningful extracurricular activities and programs; it also supports the more than fifty-five student organizations at Maryville, many of which are headquartered here in the Donius University Center. Swing by the bookstore, located inside for all of your course materials, technology software, and basic school supplies.

The Charles M. Huttig Memorial Chapel is named after a Maryville University Advisory Board member. It is a non-denominational venue that serves the entire campus community by providing a spiritual setting for contemplation and prayer; there is also a reading room for quiet study.
