Welcome to the University of La Verne! We're at the Campus Center, which includes classrooms, the Admissions Office, Academic and Career Center — where students can meet with their academic advisors, and the Honors Lounge — which provides free snacks and printing for students with a 3.75 GPA. If you want a quick bite, stop by Barb's, our to-go café with a fully functioning Starbucks. Our student lounge, Leo's Den is also in our Campus Center. The lounge offers games and hosts student life events. You'll also find the offices for our Student Government, Greek Life and Campus Activities Board here.

First & Second Year Housing

Citrus Residence Hall is our central hub for first and second-year students living on campus. The residence building is conveniently attached to our dining hall The Spot so students can quickly and easily grab a bite to eat just steps from their rooms. The hall also features a community kitchen, study rooms, laundry, two-story central lounges and elevators only accessible with key cards. Students can stay in double or triple rooms on our co-ed floors, which offer single gender and gender neutral bathrooms.

Upperclass Housing

Vista Residence Hall is a contemporary residence hall that's ideal for students wanting more independence and private living. Featuring suite-style rooms with their own bathrooms, Vista Hall houses our second, third and fourth-year students as well as our CAPA and graduate students. Floors are co-ed with all single gendered rooms. The shared living rooms come fully furnished, with a flat screen TV and cable service. The building also offers a community lounge on each floor, complete with a TV, full kitchen and stove.

Dining

The Spot is our student dining hall. Featuring multiple food stations with vegetarian and gluten-free options, students can enjoy our large indoor seating area or either of our outdoor eating spaces. Students enter the dining hall by swiping their ID cards. Next to The Spot is our Executive Board Room, which hosts a variety of special events and speakers.

Athletics

Home of the La Verne Leopards, our NCAA Division III athletes compete in the SCIAC Conference. Our Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion, known as "SSAP" or "Tents", is home to many of our athletic programs, as well as the Athletic Training and Kinesiology classrooms. The area also includes our volleyball and basketball courts and weight room for our student-athletes. Our track is open to the greater La Verne community. The SSAP includes a fitness studio that hosts different workout classes and the athletic training lab, which is available to students in the kinesiology program.

Johnson Family Plaza

Johnson Family Plaza is a hangout area where students socialize and work on their studies. It's one of the central gathering places on campus. The plaza hosts special events such as lunar festivals, art displays, spring boutiques and more. You can find different clubs and organizations setting up their booths here to promote their events and activities all meant to bring our community together.

Dailey Theater

The Dailey Theater features two stages where students produce and perform a major production each semester. Students in the theater program also share their senior projects here. You do not have to be part of the theater program to participate in any of the department's productions or events. Non-theater students take classes as part of their general education requirements and can audition for all the major productions. No experience is necessary. All the props seen on stage are created by students in the scene shop, located inside the theater and one of many 'creative expression' G.E.'s that we offer.

Campus Traditions

Founders Hall is our second oldest building on campus. Here you'll find our general education courses. Outside of Founders Hall is The Rock, a landmark on campus. It's tradition for fraternities, sororities, clubs and different departments to paint The Rock to advertise different events, programs and special dates sponsored by that organization. The Rock gets painted four to six times a week, depending on the season, which causes the paint to build up and make The Rock bigger every year!

Community Engagement

The Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding, and Community Engagement is a multi-million-dollar facility supported by a significant gift from Art and Sarah Ludwick of 1994. Opened in the Fall of 2019, the center provides a space for students, campus members, and the greater community to gather, collaborate, and enjoy meaningful interactions. It is home to the Interfaith Chapel, Office of Multicultural Services, Neurodiversity Office, Office of Civic & Community Engagement, Office of International Services & Engagement and our Sacred Space, a designated area for any religious or cultural services or celebrations.

Fitness & Health

The Randall Lewis Center for Well-Being and Research offers resources for physical, emotional, and mental well-being; teaching and collaborative research opportunities; and wellness programming for students, faculty, and staff at zero cost. The Center also partners with a wide network of community and health organizations to provide fitness opportunities, nutrition and well-being workshops, as well as informational resources. Here you'll find gathering and collaborative spaces, a research and assessment lab, fitness space with a wide range of cardio and strength training equipment, locker rooms, two well-being studios and a wellbeing plaza and outdoor space. It is also home to the Leo Food Pantry.

Sneaky Park

Sneaky Park is where CAB, our campus activities board, and other organizations host their events. You'll also find club and career fairs here. The area features the statue of La Verne's mascot, a leopard, as well as orange trees that showcase our school colors: green and orange. Sneaky Park is home to Wilson Library, which offers resources and collaborative working spaces to all students.

College of Education

The LaFetra College of Education is home to our undergraduate and graduate education programs. Whether you are starting your educational journey or are looking to take your career to the next level with a credential, certificate, or graduate degree, the LaFetra College of Education's programs equip students with the knowledge and skills to address the challenges of today's schools and educational organizations. Across the street, you will find our campus bookstore. This is a great place to purchase Leo gear, school supplies, textbook, scantrons and more!

Downtown La Verne

Just 30 miles east of Los Angeles, at the base of the Angeles Foothills, you'll find Old Town La Verne. Downtown La Verne is a student favorite for unique shops and eateries. You'll often find students grabbing food or shopping on our local downtown street, known as "D" street. Some highlights include Miss Donuts, Warehouse Pizza, Argo and Nambah Coffee.

Arts & Communication

The broadcasting studio is a space for students to create and produce film and tv media that can be showcased on our very own television station. Since 1994, the university has contracted with the city of La Verne to manage our channel LVTV. The facility allows students to get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art film industry equipment. It can also be configured to accommodate a range of sets and scenes, from a hospital wing to a living room.

The University of La Verne has a proud tradition of providing a supportive educational environment for veterans, active duty and reserve service members, National Guard and military-connected spouses, registered domestic partners and their dependents. Whether studying at the central campus in La Verne, at one of our regional campuses, at Naval Base Ventura County, or via La Verne Online, our dedicated staff will assist you. Through the ACVSS, active duty military and veterans can access computers and printing as well as referrals for tutoring, psychological and counseling services, local VA and other resources.

Health Center and Accessibilities

The Student Health Center is conveniently located on the La Verne campus and staffed by a university-employed medical doctor who provides services for acute and chronic medical concerns. We also have registered nurses and a medical assistant who offer care. There are no out of pocket charges for visits through Student Health Services or for prescription medications available through our on-site pharmacy. A short walk away, our Accessibility Services department is located inside our Oaks Residence Hall. This department gives students with disabilities access to all academic program and university resources. Reasonable accommodations are provided to minimize the effects of a student's disability and maximize their potential for success.

Campus West Fields

Campus West is where our baseball fields are located. Here, our softball and baseball teams practice and host games. The facilities include NCAA-compliant playing fields, lights for night use, batting cages, press boxes, a clubhouse and ample parking. Apart from sports, some student events are also held at Campus West.

Mainiero Science Labs

The Mainiero Science Labs is a facility featuring lab classrooms for chemistry, biology, and other natural sciences. Here you'll find the university's largest lecture hall, La Fetra Hall, which holds up to 220 students. Visit the third floor and you'll encounter reptiles that are cared for by our science students.

Arts & Humanities

Miller Hall is our oldest building on campus and houses the Humanities Dept., the Religion and Philosophy Dept., Foreign Language Dept., which includes a language computer lab, as well as several offices with our Legal Studies Dept. In the basement you'll find our Photography Dept. and The Carlson Gallery, one of three art galleries on campus. The art galleries hold student and outside artwork during the year. We also have our own newspaper, the "Campus Times", with newsstands all over campus, all run by student journalists and photographers and advised by one of the journalism professors.

Academics

At La Verne, the academic experience is centered around theory and practice. Classes require application of real-world scenarios with hands-on learning opportunities. Students work in state-of-the-art facilities using innovative technology. Plus, over 60 percent of classes have no more than 19 people, so professors can work closely with students and provide one-on-one attention. Even after graduation, students continue to grow both personally and professionally.
