Welcome to Lane Community College, a two-year community college located on a hilly campus in Eugene, Oregon. Students can pursue Associate degrees in the Arts, Applied Science, General Studies, and Science, as well as one and two-year certificates. Nearly 20,000 students attend classes each semester at LCC where the motto is "Transforming Lives Through Learning." Student Services

The Student Services building, also called Building 1, is a campus student center home to the Enrollment office, Counseling and Advising, Disability Services, The Multi-Cultural Center, and Student Government. Also housed inside this building is The Women's Center, which provides programs and services to women on campus and strives to create a campus climate that is respectful of gender issues.

Administration

Diagonally across from Student Services is the Administration Building, home to offices for Research & Development, Human Resources, and Academic and Student Affairs. The Administration is fortunate to be one of the buildings on campus home to several Art at Lane works of art. The Art at Lane collection includes pieces in a variety of mediums from area artists, students, and faculty members.

Center Building

You will probably frequent the Center Building on a daily basis, for it is home to Lane's library, bookstore, cafeteria, and writing center. The library is the third largest community college library in the state and contains more than 37,000 volumes. In addition to these amenities, many English and foreign language classrooms are also found in the Center Building.

Math/Science

The large Math/Science building is located at the southern end of campus, adjacent to the Science Green House. Students can enroll in transferrable mathematics and science courses should they choose to continue studying at a four-year institution. Similar classes can be taken in preparation for attending a school with programs in engineering, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine.

Electronics

Just north of the Math/Science building is the Electronics building, which houses several of the Advanced Technology programs. Hands-on instruction leading to certificates is offered in fields like Electronic Technology, which prepares students to test circuits, measure voltage, use basic hand tools, troubleshoot, and repair electronic machinery and equipment.

Center for Meeting and Learning

The Center for Meeting and Learning is a 35,000 square-foot facility utilized for a diverse array of events. It is conveniently equipped with a full catering service. Rooms include a computer training lab, a demonstration kitchen, an auditorium, and a 6,900 square-foot open space. The Center for Meeting and Learning has hosted fundraisers, Iron Chef-inspired team-building events, Enterprise Rent-a-Car training days, and even a multi-course mushroom meal.

RTEC/Art

RTEC stands for Regional Technical Education Consortium, which is an assortment of technical classes available to high school juniors and seniors. These classes are considered introductory or pre-requisite courses that enable high school students to get a head start on their careers. They fall into a number of fields including computer technology, criminal justice, culinary arts, early childhood education, and flight technology.

Auto/Diesel

There are several options available to students who are interested in pursuing an automotive or diesel-related career, such as the programs Automotive Technology or Diesel Technology. Students learn basic auto mechanics and repair techniques in state-of-the-art laboratory classrooms and proceed to take related exams that lead to technician certificates. LCC helps students apply their knowledge after graduating by providing detailed "career pathway" charts and listing current employment opportunities.

Manufacturing/Auto Body

This large building housing the Manufacturing and Auto Body offerings at LCC. Programs include Auto Body & Fender Technology and Manufacturing Technology, both of which can lead to well-paying, detail- oriented jobs. The manufacturing instruction facility consists of 10,000 square feet of space featuring 40 major machine tools.

Performing Arts

Here we are at the Center for the Performing Arts, a venue utilized by the Music, Dance, and Theatre Departments. LCC encourages all students to become involved in the arts, either through their course studies or extracurricular activities. This facility features a music technology lab, a recording studio, and a library of music theory resources. Performances and events hosted by the Center include the Oregon Jazz Festival, a Shakespeare Showcase recital, and a ballet based on C.S. Lewis' Narnia books.
