Acopian Engineering Center

Acopian Engineering Center houses state-of-the art facilities that support ABET-accredited engineering programs and our newest major: interdisciplinary engineering, which includes concentrations in bioengineering, robotics, and environment & energy. Newly renovated, the building features high-tech smart classrooms, enhanced interdisciplinary spaces and comfortable surroundings that promote collaboration among students and faculty. Popular capstone projects include the steel bridge competition and the Formula SAE electric racecar. Lafayette's engineering program even offers the opportunity for students to study abroad spring of sophomore year and still graduate within 4 years.

Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center (Biology/Computer Science/Environmental Science)

Our newest facility on campus, Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center is home to the academic departments of biology, computer science, environmental science and environmental studies. A unique internal ventilation system helps create a more energy efficient science building that meets LEED Gold status. Step inside the building and you'll also find the ECO café and the Office of Sustainability. Innovative laboratories, plus large social and study spaces position Rockwell as a center for student collaborations. Also housed in Rockwell is the Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education and the Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where students can continue to explore their creative capacity to lead and inspire change in the world.

Hugel Science Center (Chemistry/Physics/Biochemistry)

The Hugel Science Center is home to our Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics departments with areas for laser spectroscopy, computational chemistry, and radioisotope use. We offer opportunities in astrophysics, atomic and molecular physics, biophysics, and condensed matter physics. Each faculty member supervises a 600- square-foot research lab for collaborative student/faculty research, and many students are also involved with research through summer opportunities on campus, at research universities, or national and international labs.

Come to Scott Hall and the Academic Resource Hub for support and enrichment programs as well as the Accessibility Services Office. The Academic Hub partners with students and offers supplemental instruction, peer tutoring, and study skills assistance. The Dean of Advising and Co-Curricular Programs is also in this building to help you make wise choices as you map your college journey.

Kirby Hall of Civil Rights (Government & Law)

Kirby Hall of Civil Rights is home to the department of Government and Law as well as the Kirby Library, which contains volumes on American government, politics, and law, and comparative international politics. The largest lecture hall in this building is the site of many Brown Bags, or informal lunchtime lectures or discussions. There are typically as many as five or six per week, and members of the entire Lafayette community (students, faculty and staff) are often in attendance. Topics range from issues on homelessness and censorship, to more general themes such as Black History Month and Environmental Awareness Week.

Ramer History House (History)

Ramer History House holds the offices of Policy Studies and History. All faculty are active and important scholars in their fields, and courses are offered on Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Russia, Europe, and the United States. The Policy Studies program is for students who want to combine an interest in politics with technical knowledge in a specialized field. For example, a student interested in cyber security policy would take elective courses in computer science.

Van Wickle Hall (Geology/Environmental Geosciences)

Van Wickle Hall really rocks! You can find the department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences here, along with geophysical, hydrologic, optical, fluid-inclusion, gas chromatography, and x-ray equipment, and a full Geographical Information System laboratory. Van Wickle also boasts extensive mineral and fossil collections, and 9-meter long hydraulics flumes for modeling rivers.

South College (Residence Hall)

South College was built in 1833, making it the oldest structure on campus. Completely renovated in 2000, it is now a co-educational residence hall for 230 students from all four class years and includes two kitchen and laundry facilities on each floor. South is the largest residence hall on campus and also has an enclosed study lounge and four 24-hr music practice rooms. All students at Lafayette College are guaranteed housing for all four years, and options range from traditional residence halls to condos and off-campus houses.

Simon Center (Economics)

You can find the Economics department here in the Simon Center. As our most popular major, this department offers an unusually broad selection of courses relative to other small liberal arts colleges, including health economics, experimental and behavioral economics, monetary economics, international and development economics as well as courses in finance. The faculty are active researchers and students have many opportunities to participate in research or in our very successful Fed Challenge Team. A certificate in financial policy and analysis is also offered through the department.

Built in 2015, the Oeschle Center for Global Education is home to Africana Studies, Anthropology and Sociology, and International Affairs departments. This facility features accent walls constructed using reclaimed wood from around the world and flexible classroom and study spaces including the "Global Salon." As one of the most popular majors on campus, International Affairs is designed for students interested in thinking globally and viewing world issues from a variety of perspectives. Proficiency in a foreign language is required, and study abroad is strongly encouraged and embraced.

Pardee Hall (Humanities)

One of the oldest, largest, and most iconic buildings on campus, Pardee Hall sits on the south end of the Quad. Want to take courses like Gender and Science, Literature of the Sea, Food Writing, Evolutionary Game Theory, or Greeks and Barbarians? You can find them all here! Many academic departments and programs call Pardee home, including: Asian Studies, Classical Civilization, English, Foreign Languages and Literature, Jewish Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Women's & Gender Studies. You can also find the Math Lab, where Calc-Cavalry offers tutoring for students. Writing Associates, affectionately called "WA's," offer drop-in consultations, and are assigned to many writing intensive courses, including all First-Year Seminars.

Farinon College Center

Want to grab a bite to eat, a new Lafayette sweatshirt, or get involved with community outreach? Then head to Farinon College Center! Here you will find the offices of Residence Life, the bookstore, Post Office, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, Office of Intercultural Development, and two of our seven dining facilities. Many student-run clubs also have office space here. The Lafayette Activities Forum organizes movies, music and comedy events among other activities on campus, including our Spring Concert. Civic engagement is also important to our campus culture. In a typical weeks, nearly 300 students volunteer with children, inmates, senior citizens and the homeless in our larger Easton Community.

Hogg Hall (Career Services)

Our Gateway Career Center is housed here in Hogg (HOE-g) Hall. Through our nationally ranked, four-year Gateway Program, students are assigned a career counselor and can find support at all stages of career development: career exploration, experiential learning and internships, the job search, and graduate and professional school planning. More than 1,000 alumni and parents volunteer each year to support Gateway programs. Head into the basement if you want to get involved with WJRH, our campus radio station. Students handle all of the management for the station, and broadcast their own radio shows. No experience necessary! Finally, if you turn around, you'll find yourself on our spacious quad: the heart of campus. Whether you prefer to relax in an Adirondack chair, throw a Frisbee, or partake in one of many campus festivities, you quickly realize how much the entire campus community loves this welcoming space.

Skillman Library

Skillman Library, the main library on campus, was renovated in 2004 and has received an award from the American Institute of Architects for its design. Here you can find over half a million volumes, with approximately 10,000 books being added each year, the largest computer lab on campus, a Mac lab, video editing equipment, study rooms, 3D printers, and a café to grab a snack or Starbuck's coffee. Need some assistance with your research projects? Ask our Reference librarians! Lafayette was also awarded the 2014 Excellence in Academic Libraries Award from the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Oeschle Hall is the home of our Psychology department and Neuroscience program. The building features a lecture hall, multimedia seminar room, and cutting-edge laboratories for student and faculty use, including observation labs that allow for unobtrusive study of animals and people.

Kirby Sports Center

Here in Kirby Sports Center, you will find our newly renovated arena and natatorium, as well as our indoor jogging track and 6,600 square-foot fitness center complete with free weights, cardiovascular machines, a 35-foot climbing wall, group fitness rooms, racquet courts, and a game room. Just outside the doors is our 13,000 seat Fisher Stadium, where our Football Team plays their home games. We have 23 Division I sports teams, in addition to our club and intramural athletics. Several of our outdoor sports including baseball, soccer, and track and field compete and practice at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex, which is about three miles northwest of the College Hill campus.

Williams Center for the Arts

If you are looking to catch a dance recital or choir concert, look no further than the Williams Center for the Arts. This is the home of our nationally-recognized Performance Series which presents a busy schedule of music, dance, and theater productions as well as cutting-edge experimental performances in our 400 seat main stage theater. All of these performances are free of charge to students. The music department is also housed here, and opportunities exist for all Lafayette students in many performing ensembles including Concert Band, Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble. Students can also take instrumental and vocal lessons as well as courses in Art History. There is also an Art Gallery which displays curated works from visiting professional artists.

Williams Arts Campus

We are very excited to be expanding into Downtown Easton with our Williams Arts Campus, just at the base of College Hill. Here you will find the Williams Visual Arts Building, which contains a second art gallery and art studios to accommodate drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, digital art, architecture and photography. Buck Hall houses our brand-new Weiss Black Box Theater, complete with state-of-the-art LED lighting systems, dressing rooms, and scene and costume shops. Also situated within Buck Hall is the Landis Cinema, a 180 seat movie theater used by the Film and Media Studies Department and various student life organizations. The Film and Media Studies department is largely concentrated across the street in 248 North Third Street, where students have use of rehearsal spaces, a TV/shooting studio, advanced editing suites, media labs, a studio theater and a sound stage.

Downtown Easton City Circle

Just a ten minute walk from campus, Downtown Easton is a thriving and vibrant community full of street art, great restaurants inspired by cultures from all around the world, and a strong historical tradition. Few cities can boast that the Declaration of Independence was read from its center square on July 8th, 1776. Be sure to check out the Crayola Factory, walk along Larry Holmes Drive and the Delaware River, or see a show at the State Theater. Students also love the weekly Farmers Market (the oldest open-air farmers market in the country), and special events like PA Bacon Fest and Garlic Fest are not to be missed!
