Whether you're a communication major or just have an interest in learning something new, you can participate in student-led teams in publications, radio, video, web or sports. Sycamores run two award-winning radio stations, produce and publish the Indiana State newspaper (the Statesman) and even broadcast Sycamore Athletics live with ESPN3 and ESPN+.

That is why Indiana State has made it easier than ever for Sycamores to find their home-away-from-home with Living Learning Communities. With more than 15 communities to choose from, every student can engage with others around a common academic or interest area. Indiana State has 10 different residence halls as well as 2 apartment complexes. All Residential Communities at State are supported by both professional and student staff who are equipped to help you transition to life away from home.

Sycamores can choose from two main Campus dining options. The Sycamore Dining Hall, located at the base of the Sycamore Towers, features an all-you-can-eat buffet-style selection with a variety of options for every palette. The Commons, located in the Hulman Memorial Student Union, features a collection of fast-food restaurants. And of course, you are never far away from coffee on campus whether you are grabbing a latte from Starbucks or meeting up for a study session at Jazzman's Café.

Recreation and Wellness

The health of students is a top priority. That's why we offer a number of resources for health and wellbeing. Students stay active through activities in the Student Recreation Center which houses a natatorium, consisting of a lap pool, leisure pool, 22-person spa, and sauna, -a three-court gymnasium, fitness center and work-out classes and intramural sports! In addition to exercise, Indiana State is committed to your mental and physical health. The ISU Health Center is a full-service walk-in clinic in partnership with Union Health. To support your mental health, the Student Counseling Center and the Psychology clinic offer counseling and therapy services.
