The main entrance to the Center is a lively gathering area where you can pick up your mail, chat with other students, and check out announcements about upcoming events.

Students use the Center library to study, have group meetings, and browse books for fun or for research.

The Center's computer lab is a busy hub where students check email, do research, and write dossiers.

Join other students and the occasional staff or faculty member for lunch in the Center's kitchen. Many students save money by keeping lunch supplies in the fridges and cupboards, and preparing lunch at the Center. It's a great place to practice your social French!

The Center has several study areas, with this room being one of the largest. Students bring their laptops and books to this quiet study area which, like the rest of the Center, has a distinctly charming French feel.

Students can relax, study, plan trips, or just chat with friends in this cozy lounge area. It's not uncommon to hear students practicing piano here, either.

IES Abroad courses are held in classrooms like this one at the Center. The rooms are comfortable and conducive to both lectures and conversation.

IES Abroad offers housing in homestays throughout the city. Some host families have been welcoming IES Abroad students for decades!

Situated right across the street from the Center is the Cours Cambronne, a stately park where you can catch on up your reading, or just stroll through on your way into the city center.

Escape the city life of Nantes for an afternoon at the Ile de Versailles, which features a Japanese-inspired garden with massive bamboo and cherry blossoms that bloom in the spring.

This iconic spot, surrounded by cafes and shops, often serves as a meet-up spot for students, or a place to just sit, people-watch, and soak in the charm of Nantes.

The last of the famous Loire châteaux before the Atlantic Ocean, students can visit this icon in the historic heart of the city. Aside from the Cathedral, the castle stands as the oldest historic building in the city, built in the Middle Ages.

Another green getaway in the city, the Jardin des Plantes is a great spot for a relaxing stroll after class. Check out the oldest tree in the park (planted in 1807), visit the Orangerie, or just walk along the waterways.

Construction on the Nantes Cathedral, or the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Nantes, began in 1434, and took over 450 years to finish. Many students opt for a tour of this famous cathedral during their time in Nantes.

The third-tallest building in all of France, the Brittany Tower, or Tour Bretagne, juts out of the Nantes skyline. The bar and café on the 32nd floor offers a 360 degree view of the city.
