This is Hofstra Hall, the historic home of Kate and William Hofstra. Hofstra was founded in 1935 on their estate and has been helping students succeed ever since. Science and Innovation Center

The brand-new Science & Innovation Center is Hofstra's newest and largest academic building on campus. It's home to Hofstra's Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies and the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science. Here, students get a collaborative, cross-disciplinary STEM education that offers the most up-to-date and immersive experiences for the engineers and nurses of tomorrow. As science and technology continue to transform our lives, Hofstra is investing in students and laying the foundation for graduates to emerge as the pioneers and innovators who are tackling the pressing challenges of our modern world.

Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing &Physician Assistant Studies

The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies is preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals! With a brand new, state-of-the-art building complete with simulation labs and a clinical skills center, students get the skills they need to not only succeed, but lead. At Hofstra, students get significant experience that starts on Day 1. Through Hofstra's partnership with Northwell Health, students also have the opportunity to get a clinical placement in an active hospital that allows them to work with real patients, making a difference in the community while gaining practical skills.

DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Sciences

The School of Engineering and Applied Science gives students access to a wide range of laboratory experiences, including labs devoted to Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, Electromagnetic Wave Measurements, Geotechnics, Cell and Tissue Engineering, Big Data, Embedded Systems, Autonomous Vehicles, Aerodynamics, Virtual Reality, Structural Design, and many more. Students have the opportunity to design and build in our Maker Space, as well as in a full service machine shop. Outside the classroom the range of opportunities that enhance skills and prepare for future careers in technology is headlined by a thriving Co-op program which has partnerships with upwards of 200 companies interested in hiring our students.

Shapiro Family Hall - Music

From rehearsal rooms to performance spaces, the BlackBox theater to The Big Hall, Shaprio Hall provides state-of-the-art facilities where students can perfect their craft and then put on shows in front of wide audiences. And the best part? The spaces have been engineered to offer the best possible sound! Throughout the year, the drama and dance departments stage plays and recitals. Students also enjoy taking the train to check out shows in New York City!

Adams Playhouse - Theater

Welcome to the Adam's Playhouse! It seats about 1,100 people and is home to the annual Shakespeare festival, which offers the most historically accurate re-creation of Shakespeare's Globe stage in North America. The playhouse is also home to productions like Legally Blonde, Dream of a Common Language, and Hair. It's also a popular venue for the music and dance departments. Students enjoy performances by the symphonic band and wind ensemble, as well as the fall and spring faculty dance concerts. And most events are free for students!

Calkins Hall - Fine Arts & Humanities

Welcome to Calkins Hall, home to Fine Arts and the Humanities. It's a space where artists in many different fields mingle and inspire each other. The building houses a wide range of studios for students to take advantage of, including a professional-level photography studio, a high-tech graphic design lab, a newly-renovated ceramics studio, and a language learning center that offers tools for ESL students. Best of all, the walls and galleries of this building are decorated with incredible student artwork.

Herbert School of Communication

There has never been a more exciting time in media and communication. If your passion is storytelling, if your ambition is to make a mark on the world, if you are ready to learn your craft and create your own vision The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication is ready for you! The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication is home to state-of-the-art facilities, including Hofstra's award-winning radio station, WRHU, and three production studios where students not only have classes also but produce films. Students can also get involved in clubs such as the Heat Network to produce a variety of shows.

Deane School of Law

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law offers JD degrees and LLM degrees in American legal studies, family law and health law, as well as joint degrees including JD/MBA, JD/MPH and JD/MALFL (forensic linguistics). The law school also allows students to complete three years of undergraduate classes and three years of law school in a program called LEAP. At Hofstra, the law's not something just to be studied - it is to be lived.

Gittleson Hall - Biology

Welcome to Gittleson Hall is Hofstra's home for Biology, Geology, Environment, and Sustainability Studies. This building offers state-of-the-art equipment to the teaching and research labs. From the high-tech imaging center to the rooftop greenhouse and field research performed abroad in Belize, students perform hands-on experience that will help them succeed and can make a difference in the world. Best of all, the research at Hofstra is done by our undergraduate students, and the small class sizes allow everyone to be able to take advantage of these opportunities.

Berliner Hall - Sciences

Berliner Hall houses the departments of Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy. In addition to incredible high-tech classrooms and equipment that bring material to life, the rooftop observatory puts sophisticated telescopes and computerized CCD cameras in students' hands so that they can ask life's big questions. The small class sizes encourage students to form excellent relationships with their professors, who are happy to provide extra help or advice about challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Zarb School of Business

At the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, students work with the same technology, software, and real-time data that business professionals do, and they have access to facilities ranging from one of the largest academic trading rooms in the nation to high-tech classrooms, labs, and centers dedicated to research and innovation in cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and consumer behavior. This real life training compliments the world-class internship and networking experiences offered at Zarb! Our degree programs and initiatives focus on the topics that affect our communities next door, nationally and abroad, including sustainability, entrepreneurship, finance, healthcare, big data, the role of women in business, and global leadership.

The Career Center

Welcome to the Center for Career Design and Development, an incredible resource to help students secure internships and full-time positions. Students can go to the career center as early as their freshman year. The staff is dedicated to helping students in any way possible through resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, career fairs, and more. The Center is closely connected to Hofstra's alumni network to help connect current students to professional opportunities. Even for students who are still deciding on their major, the Center does a great job of helping them discover what they're passionate about and would like to pursue as a career.

Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex

Between Shuart Stadium and the Mack Sports Complex, there are two incredible athletics facilities right here on campus! From sporting events to concerts, commencements, job fairs, NCAA championships, and even presidential debates, these spaces are where all of campus comes together, and every student will find themselves walking on these floors for one reason or another. The Hofstra community is called the Pride, a reference to the two lions on our logo. We are strong independently but even more powerful together.

Hagedorn Hall - Education & Health

Hagedorn Hall is the home to the School of Education and School of Health Sciences. Our education students are offered programs including teacher education, leadership, literacy studies, and special education and begin student teaching in their junior year. Hofstra's extensive field placement hours, provide invaluable teaching experiences, that prepares students to have their own classroom from day one of their careers. Hofstra's health sciences students will be ready to serve and advocate for their community as a well-rounded and culturally competent health professionals. Through instruction, field experience, and research training, students are educated to become effective and compassionate clinicians, evidence-based practitioners, policymakers, managers, and advocates who promote health equity.

The Mack Student Center is the center of student life. Inside, there's a bookstore, our post office, several dining options, and even a hair salon. It's also home to many student group offices. At Hofstra, students enjoy more than 200 clubs, so it's really easy to get involved. The student center even hosts film screenings, complete with popcorn and snacks.

Undergraduate Residence Halls

Hofstra offers a variety of housing options that include different buildings, rooms, and even communities that help students feel right at home. These include singles, doubles, and suite-style apartments, as well as an honors college that bringst together students who share a common goal to live and collaborate together. The Resident Assistants host events so that students can get to know one another and create friendships that will last a lifetime. Living on campus is a great way to make friends and always be in the heart of what's happening at Hofstra.

Netherlands Complex Residents Suites

Welcome to the Netherlands, the first-year residence halls! The Netherlands is set up as a few connected buildings or "houses" that surround a courtyard. Since everyone is new to campus, students go out of their way to meet one another and discover Hofstra together. Hofstra also offers living/learning communities, which are residences centered around a common major, career path, or area of interest. It is another fun way for students to follow their passions and make friends who share them.

This is Hof USA, another place filled with fun and entertainment. After class, students come down here for a bite, a brownie sundae, or even a chance to relax and catch up with friends. Between its seating and auditorium, it is also a site for many events and clubs.

Fitness Center

This is the Mack Fitness Center, a perfect place to stay in shape and blow off steam. Students enjoy state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines, group yoga, Zumba, and cycling classes. All of the club sports can be found here - from traditional sports to rock climbing and Quidditch. Best of all, everything here is free of charge to students, faculty, and staff.
