Welcome to Hamline University! Before we get started, let me explain the many ways you can explore our beautiful space. You can click on the forward facing arrow to start walking around. You can jump to the next stop by clicking on the "Next" button. Now, if you already know where you want to go, you can select any location by using the list OR by clicking directly on the map. Lastly, remember that you can explore any particular location in more detail by clicking the supplemental icons. Sound good? Okay! Then let's begin. Founded in 1854, Hamline was Minnesota's first university and is now home to over 2,000 undergraduate and nearly 1500 graduate students. Where we're standing, Old Main Mall, is named after the most iconic building on campus, Old Main, which is on the National Registry of Historic Landmarks and at one point housed the entire university. This expanse of lawn is where students graduate each spring and is a popular spot for study groups, frisbee, and meeting up with friends during the year. It's even the site of one of our most popular annual student experiences, Theatre on the Lawn, which showcases a student-developed and -produced production.
