Welcome Center and Honors College

The Welcome Center is located on the first floor of Centennial Hall, at the corner of Courtland Street and historic Auburn Avenue. It sits at the core of our campus and our city. No one knows the university like our Welcome Center staff, who love to show students and families around our downtown campus. The second floor of Centennial Hall is occupied by the Honors College, home to the university's highest achievers. This dedicated space carves out an intimate community for Honors students to collaborate within our larger research institution.

Aderhold Learning Center

Surrounded by Broad Street's restaurants, Aderhold Learning Center is one of Georgia State's most popular academic buildings. Aderhold boasts spacious classrooms and lecture halls equipped with the latest audiovisual, distance learning and instructional technology. A highlight of the building is the Creation and Technology (CAT) Lab, where students can check out state-of-the-art equipment for multimedia projects and access the audio recording studio, outfitted with professional software. When you need a breath of fresh air, check out the sunny balcony on Aderhold's top floor for sweeping views of Atlanta.

Rialto Center for the Arts

With roots stretching back to 1916, the Rialto Center for the Arts is downtown Atlanta's premier venue for acclaimed music, drama and dance performances; art exhibits; and independent film screenings. Once the largest movie theater in the Southeast, the Rialto also provides Georgia State students with opportunities to gain experience, perform in professional settings and study with master artists from a variety of creative disciplines.

Robinson College of Business and Andrew Young School of Policy Studies

Overlooking Woodruff Park, the towering building at 55 Park Place is a hub for both the Robinson College of Business — the oldest business school in Georgia — and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. The 12th floor's innovative Delta Student Success Center helps students develop business communication skills, access experiential learning opportunities, and connect with businesses for internships and jobs. Occupying several floors of the building, the Andrew Young School takes advantage of is location in one of the world's most dynamic global cities to tackle complex societal issues.

College of Law

Operating from a beautifully modern building located just blocks from the State Capitol and critical business, government and nonprofit organizations, Georgia State's College of Law offers students access to an expansive law library, mock courtrooms, research centers and clinical opportunities. From part-time law to clinical training and healthcare law, the College's programs are regularly recognized by U.S. News & World Report as among the nation's top graduate program choices.

Career Services and Advisement Center

Another Woodruff Park neighbor, University Career Services and the Advisement Center are housed in a 26-story high-rise. Students can access Career Services for resume help, professional headshots and more. Students with fewer than 90 credit hours meet regularly with their designated adviser in the Advisement Center to plan coursework and progress toward graduation. The building is also the headquarters for the College of Arts & Sciences — the largest academic unit on campus — and the Writing Studio, where students can get one-on-one help with papers and research via the English Department.

Creative Media Industries Institute

Offering programs in media production, graphic and sound design, and music management, the three-story, multi-million-dollar Creative Media Industries Institute (or CMII) prepares students for careers that transcend traditional degree programs. With cutting-edge equipment, advanced studios in niche areas like motion capture, and production suites, CMII provides students and faculty an unrivaled, direct connection to Atlanta's booming film, music and video game industries. It also serves as the homebase for Georgia State's nationally acclaimed esports program.

Panther Entrepreneurship

Panther entrepreneurship includes a commitment to innovation and a collection of special workspaces enabling students to develop and deliver products and services. At the core of this hub is the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute. Once a year, the institute offers students from any major the opportunity to present their business ideas and compete for financial support from the Main Street Entrepreneurs Seed Fund. Through university incubator LaunchGSU students have the physical resources and support to advance their startups. In the ExLab makerspace, students can design products and use 3D printers.

Campus Greenway

Bordered by lush lawns, the campus greenway links key thoroughfares Peachtree Center Avenue, Collins and Courtland streets and key university buildings via a series of landscaped walkways. An apex for congregating, from here students can easily access both wings of the University Library, Langdale Hall and the Arts & Humanities building, which features a stunning art gallery. Check out Library South's Collaborative University Research and Visualization Environment (CURVE) and interactWall and Library's North's student-run coffee shop, Saxbys. Plus, get a great view of the greenway from Library North's rooftop terrace.

Student Center

Student Center East is a focal point for the social life of Georgia State's diverse university community. A great place to catch up on work and catch up with friends, Student Center East boasts a 425-seat auditorium and ballroom, several dining outposts and lounge areas, the headquarters for many student organizations, an art gallery, an entirely student-run radio station and Cinefest, our very own movie theater. Bonus: There are concessions, and films are free!

Hurt Park

Set just steps from the Student Center, recently renovated Hurt Park adds another layer of serene, green space to our metropolitan campus. Featuring a fountain focal point, the nearly 2-acre triangular park borders Edgewood Avenue, Gilmer and Courtland streets. In addition to hosting events like Greek step shows and campus fairs, Hurt Park provides a perfect backdrop for studying or socializing between classes.

Science and Research Center

Outfitted with state-of-the-art, R1-level technology, Georgia State's 10-story science and research center complex comprises wet laboratories, teaching laboratories and classrooms that support the university's research programs in the health and life sciences. In partnership with the region's leading hospitals and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the teams and projects at work here employ some of the world's top researchers and scientists in their quest to advance scholarship.

Student Recreation Center

Exercise, relax and release your energy at the Student Recreation Center, a multilevel, modern fitness complex free to all students. Featuring everything from stacked weight rooms, tracks and multi-sport gymnasiums to an impressive climbing wall and dance studio, the center offers fitness classes in yoga, martial arts and more. Check out the eight-lane lap pool with a diving board as well as the leisure pool, in-house spa and sauna

Patton Hall First-Year Residence Hall

Cozy and inviting, Patton Hall is a student residence option featuring single- and shared bedroom suites and bathrooms. Reserved for first-year students, Patton is nestled at the corner of Edgewood and Piedmont avenues. It's home to just 331 residents and features its own ground-level own dining hall filled with healthy and tasty options. Just blocks from the Student Recreation Center and prime classroom buildings, Patton Hall is conveniently part of the Atlanta Streetcar's 12-stop route. With special amenities like free laundry facilities and covered parking, rooms fill quickly.

Piedmont Central First-Year Residence Hall

Housing 1,144 Panthers, Piedmont Central features comfortable two-bedroom suites with bathrooms, plus gathering spaces, community kitchens and multimedia rooms that promote socialization and learning. Piedmont Central also boasts its own dining hall with extended weekend hours. Another cool feature? You can get a text when your laundry is done!

University Lofts

With high-rise views and stylish layouts, some of Atlanta's most desirable residence options are part of University Housing. Home to around 575 students — primarily sophomores and above — University Lofts features 14 floors of loft-style apartments with luxury vinyl tile flooring, exposed ceilings, open floor plans, full kitchens and bathrooms.

Piedmont North Residence Hall

The Piedmont North residence hall offers homey single-, double- and triple- occupancy rooms for 1,060 students. Piedmont North's layout represents a traditional, suite-style residential facility with a bathroom in each room. Convenient common areas include a courtyard, ground-level dining hall and the Piedmont North Learning Center, which can be specially reserved for tech access and study sessions.

University Commons

Nearly 2,000 Georgia State students enjoy living at the University Commons, where they can choose from two- or four-bedroom apartments across four buildings. This popular spot is known for its coveted greenspace, sense of community and spectacular city views. Convenient to the Student Health Clinic, dining options and downtown attractions, every unit in the University Commons includes a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, and every floor features its own study lounge.
