College Hall

We’re beginning our tour at the statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola in front of College Hall, Gonzaga’s oldest and most storied building. If you’re visiting campus in person, this is the entrance you’re looking for. Built in 1898, College Hall houses the Office of Admission, Registrar, our Student Newspaper -- The Bulletin, and many faculty offices. College Hall also serves as one of Gonzaga’s primary classroom buildings. On the first and second floors of College Hall, you will find the Rogues Gallery, a living yearbook of Gonzaga, with pictures dating back to the University’s founding years. The University Chapel, located on the third floor of College Hall, is where student masses are held during the school year.

St. Aloysius Church

We’ve now arrived at St. Aloysius Church. Built in 1911 the church primarily serves St. Aloysius Parish. St. Aloysius Gonzaga is the patron saint of youth who selflessly gave his life in the service of people who had the Black Plague in 1591. Sometimes referred to as St. Al’s, the Gonzaga Community also enjoys this beautiful church. At the start of your school year, your professors and Gonzaga staff from across campus will line the walkway to St. Al’s to clap and cheer for you as you and the other students make your way to the symbolic beginning of your fall semester – Gonzaga’s Academic Convocation. St. Al’s also holds daily parish services. To the east of the church you will find the Grotto, devoted to Mother Mary, dedicated in 2012.

Tilford Center

We are now at Tilford Center, home to Gonzaga’s renowned Nursing department. Gonzaga Nursing provides exceptional training for the next generation of nurses. Nursing graduates enjoyed a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the NCLEX exam in recent years. As a nursing student, you will have access to phenomenal nursing simulation labs located here, as well as a state-of-the-art media classroom. Nursing graduate and doctoral programs also make their homes here.

Jundt Art Museum

Gonzaga University is a place that promotes the arts and artistic expression through many opportunities, programming, and spaces. Welcome to the Jundt Art Center and Museum. Opened in 1995, Jundt houses Gonzaga’s art department and includes studios for painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. Jundt also serves as a museum open to the public, featuring the Jundt Galleries, the Arcade Gallery, and the Chancellor’s Room, which showcases an 800-piece blown glass chandelier by world renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly, as well as many of his other works. The Museum displays traveling exhibits and pieces from Gonzaga’s growing permanent collection of art, including works by Rodin, Rembrandt, Goya, and Picasso. During the spring, artwork from Gonzaga seniors is displayed in the art gallery – imagine your art being displayed in the same building as Rembrandt and Picasso!

Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center

Opened in 2019, the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center along with the Jundt Art Center and Museum form the keystones of an arts village on Gonzaga’s west end of campus, anchoring programs in music, theater, dance and the visual arts. The facility features a 750-seat performance theater, a 150- seat recital/rehearsal hall for music and dance, and dedicated space for instruction and projects. The stage features a proscenium arch and a fly loft, as well as an orchestra pit designed to create various stage configurations. The Woldson Performing Arts Center advances Gonzaga’s legacy of excellence in the performing and visual arts in the Inland Northwest and honors the rich heritage of the arts in the Jesuit tradition.

Jepson School of Business Administration

We have arrived at Jepson Center, home to the School of Business Administration, including undergraduate and master's programs in accounting and business administration with 11 different concentrations covering almost every aspect of business. The Jepson Center houses the largest lecture hall on campus where some of the most influential business leaders like the CEO of Nike have come to speak directly with current Zags. As a Zag business student, you also have access to the Jack H. Hemmingson Finance Lab to invest real money in the real stock market using both simulative and real- time trading technology, including a 45-foot stock ticker. As a student in the School of Business, you will have many opportunities to build your resume and secure internships prior to graduation. The Jepson Center is also the home of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, and the Thomas Hammer Coffee Shop.

Hughes Hall – Sciences

We have made our way to Hughes Hall, Gonzaga's primary sciences building. If you're a student studying Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or any health science program, many of your classes will be in Hughes. The building is home to research and teaching labs, classrooms, and offices for Gonzaga's biology and chemistry programs, so you will have ready access to your professors. Students in the sciences have opportunities to participate in faculty-student research, science education within the Spokane community, internships, field studies, and volunteer experiences.

Bollier Center for Integrated Science & Engineering

The John & Joan Bollier Family Center for Integrated Science & Engineering takes STEM education to a new level of engagement and real-world preparation. Be prepared for hands-on projects and new friendships! Opened in 2021, the 82,000-square-foot building offers students from science and engineering backgrounds, as well as others, the opportunity to work together on meaningful projects and generate new ideas. From climate change and public health research to biochemistry, psych and electronics labs, this Jesuit-inspired space creates space for engineering and applied and natural sciences to live and grow together. There are 18 labs in the Bollier Center, including: Circuits, Structures, Materials, Tribology, Dynamics & Vibrations, Environmental Engineering, and Computing. This building was awarded a LEED Silver Certification as an environmentally healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green building.

Herak Center – Engineering

We are now at Herak Center, the home to Gonzaga's School of Engineering and Applied Science. It has been an important part of Gonzaga University for almost 90 years. As one of only four Jesuit universities in the West with accredited engineering programs, Gonzaga is committed to excellence in engineering education — and the nation has noticed. The School proudly trains students to become civil engineers, computer engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and computer scientists. You can even earn a degree in engineering management where the worlds of business and engineering meet. The Herak Center also houses the departments of physics and mathematics. As a Gonzaga student in STEM, you will have the technology and tools to master the fundamental principles of your demanding discipline and prepare you to make a meaningful difference in your future career. The facilities even include an in-house machine shop to provide hands-on opportunities for your college journey.

PACCAR Center for Applied Sciences

Welcome to Gonzaga's first building to be awarded the LEED Gold certification, a national certification for environmentally friendly buildings, the PACCAR Center for Applied Science. This "green" building houses sophisticated laboratories dedicated to robotics, artificial vision, and transmission and distribution line engineering, as well as classrooms and faculty offices. These laboratories will allow you as a student to obtain hands-on experience in a world-class research facility. You will be more prepared to make an immediate difference in your career and in the world around you. Foley Center – Library

Welcome to the Foley Center! Foley is Gonzaga's primary library, and it is a favorite study location for Zags. Each floor has a different level of allowable noise, so students who need to have noisy background chatter can hang out in the basement group study area while those who like to study in ultra-quiet environments can be on the third floor in The Rare Books Room - the floors get progressively quieter the higher up you go. Also, with over 334,000 books, research databases, and an inter-library loan system, you will always have access to the information you need to succeed in your classes. The Rare Books Room even has manuscripts dating back to the 1400s! Foley is also the location for all of the free tutoring that is available to you as a Zag in the Center for Student Academic Success. That's right, you can always sign up for a free tutor to help you better understand those challenging subjects or write amazing papers. The Center for Academic Success also includes a writing center and support for students with learning and physical differences. Fun fact: From an aerial view, Foley Center is shaped like an open book.

Crosby Center

Welcome to the Crosby Center. Crosby is named after the famous singer and actor Bing Crosby who attended Gonzaga 1920-1924 before leaving to find his illustrious career in Hollywood. Crosby is a hub for important services for you while you're a Zag. Here you will find the Office of Housing and Residence Life, Student Financial Services, the Office of Health Promotion. You'll also find New Student and Family Programs which is responsible for new student orientation and family weekends, the Resolution Center for Student Conduct and Conflict, the Center for Career and Professional Development, and the Center for Cura Personalis – Gonzaga's primary, whole-person support center for students. Whether you want to speak with somebody about financial aid, improve your resume or interviewing skills, find internship opportunities, get some career coaching, speak with somebody to receive more support for yourself or a fellow Zag, you can find it all from the helpful people in the Crosby Center. The best part - it's conveniently located near the center of campus for maximum accessibility.

Hemmingson University Center

The Hemmingson Center is the primary student hang out on campus. It is a place for Gonzaga students to live in community, meet others, learn, discover, and grow in every aspect of life; mind, body, and spirit. Hemmingson Center houses 10 unique and fun dining areas, including the COG - our main dining hall, The Bulldog restaurant, Qdoba, Iggy's Market and Sandwiches, and Starbucks. You will also find Mission and Ministry, the Unity Multicultural Education Center, the Center for Community Engagement, the Center for Global Engagement, the Center for Leadership Development, Lincoln LGBTQ+ Resource Center, Gonzaga Outdoors, a U.S. Bank branch, student government offices, a center to support the 100+ student clubs and organizations, study abroad offices, and a space for transfer, Veteran, and returning adult student populations. Additionally, the building offers a video wall for storytelling, a state-of-the-art roof top hydroponic greenhouse/learning lab, a 200-seat theatre, an 800-seat multipurpose ballroom, a reflection room, Next Gen Tech Bar for help with your technology issues, TV lounges, outdoor terraces, a fire pit, and other meeting spaces. And don't miss the Hemm Den Student Lounge in the basement. Basically, if you want to do something or be involved but don't know where to start, come to Hemmingson!

Rosauer Center – Education

Our School of Education is located here, in the Rosauer Center. Within the School of Education, we offer certifications in Secondary and Elementary Education, as well as degrees in Community, Culture, and Language, Special Education, Kinesiology, and Sport Management, and an extensive list of graduate programs. This building contains media equipped classrooms, observation rooms with one-way mirrors, an active learning center, and an early childhood center for preschool children with and without special needs.

Gonzaga University School of Law

We have arrived at Gonzaga University School of Law, founded in 1912. This new building is situated along the banks of the beautiful Spokane River and enrolls almost 500 students, faculty, and administrators. The building houses the Chastek Law Library, the Barbieri Courtroom, and a chapel. It also houses the Center for Law and Justice, which serves the needs of many indigent and marginalized people in the Inland Northwest.

UW-GU Health Partnership Building

Gonzaga University is the first private institution to join the University of Washington School of Medicine as a full partner. The Health Partnership Building is the shared home for Gonzaga Human Physiology students and University of Washington medical students. Human Physiology students, many of whom are preparing for medical school themselves, can work and study in the same state-of-the-art learning spaces as active medical students. The Health Partnership Building features classrooms, an anatomy suite, research labs and health-specific equipment provided by Nike. For all students who are interested in human physiology or who are preparing for a career in a medical field, you will have many meaningful experiences in this building.

Martin Center – Fitness Center

We are now at the Martin Centre, the main physical fitness and athletic building on campus. Inside you will also find The Rudolf Fitness Center where you can get involved with intramural and club sports, swim, work out, play a pick-up game of basketball, run on the indoor- track, lift weights, play racquetball, and even get a smoothie. The Martin Centre is also home to our Division 1 women's volleyball team and its 2,000-seat pavilion. Students are able to attend home games or matches for all of Gonzaga's Division I sports teams for free. This includes baseball, basketball, crew, cross country/track, golf, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. Just east of campus, students can also cheer on Gonzaga's tennis teams at the Stevens Center, home to our indoor golf and tennis facility. The Volkar Center for Athletic Achievement located just south of Martin Center houses student-athlete support services, a weight room, nutrition center, basketball practice court, and the Gonzaga Athletics Hall of Fame.

McCarthey Athletic Center

We have now arrived at The McCarthey Athletic Center. This is home to our Gonzaga men's and women's basketball teams. Also known as The Kennel, this arena seats 6,000 people, and 1,200 of those seats are free and reserved for students. McCarthey also hosts many student and special events, concerts, performances, and presentations. For many home basketball games, Gonzaga students will camp out to make sure they get the best seats possible in The Kennel. Go Zags!

The Zag Shop is the best location in the world to find Gonzaga gear to show your school spirit! The BARC is also where you will go to check Campus Mail and visit the friendly and knowledgeable people in University Advancement.

Gonzaga is located in the University District of Spokane, Washington, right here along the beautiful Spokane River. We end our tour on the Don Kardong bridge situated on the south side of campus. This bridge was designed by Gonzaga Engineering students as part of a senior design project. It is also part of the Centennial Trail, a paved path along the Spokane River stretching from Nine Mile Falls west Spokane, through Gonzaga's campus, all the way past Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Using the trail is a great way for students to explore the area. Gonzaga is only a 15-minute walk from downtown Spokane making it easy for students to go shopping, grab dinner with friends, catch a movie or hang out in Riverfront Park. Gonzaga's location also provides excellent opportunities for student internships in Spokane and the Inland Northwest.
