The Front Door to Your Academic Future. The Main floor of the Student and Community Services Center houses student services. Whether it's applying for admissions, scholarships, checking on financial aid status, meeting with an advisor or enrolling in courses, it can all be addressed in one visit. Also included is an inviting space for individuals looking to refine job skills, enhance lifestyle, complete a GED or polish English language skills through our Community Services Division. The second floor of our building also houses our National American University campus. GCCC and NAU have partnered to offer the support, convenience, quality education, and affordability you need to finish your bachelor's degree.

Warren Fouse Science and Math Building

Our Warren Fouse Science and Math Building is home to a lab truly unique among community colleges. Garden City Community College is one of just three Kansas community colleges-and the only one in the western half of the state-with an on-campus cadaver lab. Science and math classes cap at a capacity of 24 with labs specific to biology, chemistry, physical science, physics, and ecology. This allows students a competitive edge in the increasingly demanding medical and health science fields.

Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building

At the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building, you will find art, band, choir, English, speech, and theater programs. With various performances, gallery events, and classes whether it's an original play or a production of a Broadway musical, Christmas Vespers concert, or a rock/jazz band ensemble this building is always a buzz. Also home to a ceramic art studio, students are able to display their work and invite guest artists to the Mercer Gallery.

Thomas Saffell Library

The Thomas Saffell Library offers access to computers, writing labs and more than a million magazine, journal and newspaper articles online. The library is also home to the Mary Jo Williams Comprehensive Learning Center, which offers free tutoring to students. You can also find our Student Support Services program next to the Mary Jo Williams Comprehensive Learning Center. SSS is a program that helps students successfully complete their Associate Degree at GCCC and transfer to a four-year university.

Academic Building

The Academic Building is home to our accounting, business, computer science, education, economics, geography, government, social work, sociology and psychology classes. The Academic Building also houses one of two campus lecture halls, which has a maximum capacity of 136 although class size rarely surpasses 30 students. The Academic building is also home to the late night writing lab that allows students to continue working on assignments after the Thomas Saffell Library has closed.

Penka Building of Practical Arts and Sciences

Nursing and Cosmetology highlight the trades in the Penka Building of Practical Arts and Sciences. The cosmetology programs uses the Pivot Point platform and operates as a full-service salon to prepare students for state licensure. The adjacent Ereden Corley Simulation Lab provides an exciting opportunity to nursing students. This state-of-the-art lab, equipped with high-fidelity mannequins that allows nursing and allied health students to gain pre-clinical experience. The Penka Building is also the practice space for GCCC's College Quiz Bowl team.

The Beth Tedrow Student Center offers students an opportunity to unwind from academic responsibilities while enjoying numerous games, activities and Student Government Association special events. Students also have access to a Student Health Nurse that offers services to all students at Garden City Community College. The Beth Tedrow Student Center also houses our on campus cafeteria that offers meal plans for students living on and off campus with a new menu on a daily basis. On their free time students can stop by and shop at the Broncbuster Bookstore and stock up on their Buster gear!

Looking for a home away from home? Look no further than residential life! With five different living options to choose from there's a perfect place for almost everyone. Featured on this part of the tour, we have our East Units, West Hall, and Apartments. Three-bedroom apartments afford the luxury of privacy, and space to personalize living quarters. The West Hall dormitory illustrates prototypical college living with direct access to the cafeteria. In the East Units, a blend of apartment and dormitory have converged. Our Broncbuster Suites and Broncbuster Houses are both located across the street from the main campus on Spruce Street.

The Task Force Broncbuster partnership is the first of its kind amongst community colleges in Kansas. This partnership includes the Kansas Army and Air National Guard, and Garden City Community College.The new linkage will provide an opportunity for soldiers to gain valuable civilian and military education in a traditional student setting on the Garden City Community College campus. In addition to educational access, this new partnership will provide Kansas National Guard soldiers with access to a Readiness Center for use in accomplishing military training.

The Welding Technologies Program at Garden City Community College offers students the chance to develop and upgrade their skills in the rapidly growing field of welding. At GCCC, welding students will learn in state of the art facilities and gain certifications through the American Welding Society as well as KBOR approved degrees and/or certifications.

A state of the art Live Fire Burn Tower has been built on campus in a partnership between the City of Garden City and GCCC. The Live Fire Burn Tower and surrounding Tactical Course and Challenge course provide multiple training opportunities for Fire, Criminal Justice/ Law Enforcement and EMST. Emergency responder training and classes in fire fighting, rappelling, rescue and special tactics techniques are available.

Located on the south side of Spruce Street across from the main campus, our Broncbuster Houses offer roomy interiors and up-to-date bathrooms, housing style living at its best! Broncbuster Houses consist of four bedrooms, two restrooms, furnished living room, furnished dining area, limited cooking area, lockable storage room and two linen-closets in the hallway. Each room includes extra-long twin beds, closets, desks, chairs, and three-drawer dressers.

Full amenity living at its best, the Broncbuster Suites provide a fully furnished kitchen including stove, full size refrigerator, garbage disposal and dishwasher. Each suite has a furnished living room, restroom and its own washer and dryer! Each room includes extra-long twin beds, closet, 3-drawer dresser and wardrobe. The suites are located one block south of Spruce Street and the main campus.

In the fall of 2014, the college opened its brand new Phase I, multi-sports complex with seating for 3,000 spectators. The new sports complex is home to Track and Field, Soccer, and Broncbuster Football. The Complex is located near campus housing and other field sports offered at GCCC. The inaugural game was played against Highland Community College on August 30, 2014. The complex has quickly become a hub for the community events, and hosted the 1A Regional Track meet in 2015 and 2016. GCCC hosted the NJCAA Region VI Track & Field Championships in May 2016.

On the court or on the field, Broncbuster athletics provide a source of pride, and gives fans the opportunity to come together and cheer their teams on to victory. The Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex is home to the athletic training facility where student athletic trainers ensure that the athletes for baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance team, football, golf, rodeo, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball are taken care of and ready to take the field as part of one of the nation's toughest conferences – the Jayhawk Conference. The DPAC is also home to the community wellness center, racquetball courts and Hall of Fame Room.

Williams Stadium is home to Broncbuster baseball and was built in 1988 from donations from Gary and Janet Williams. In addition to the collegiate baseball field, there are also quality bullpens and batting cages.

If a hands-on approach is preferred-then, the John Collins Vocational Building is the place to be. Programs housed within the vocational building are agriculture, animal science, automotive technology, criminal justice, emergency medical services and technology, fire science, John Deere Ag Technology, student media and welding. In the neighboring Gary E. Technical Annex the industrial production technology and ammonia refrigeration programs, enable students to receive the technical training necessary for the workforce.

Across the street from the Student and Community Services Center you can find our Access and Opportunit Center. The Access and Opportunity Center offers ESL classes for adults who want to learn English while receiving education in life skills, work skills, civics and basic technology.There are four levels of education allowing each student to receive proper help. Level four is a bridge class helping students who want to further their education.
