Welcome to the Hope Barber Shull Academic Resource Center, commonly referred to by students as "The ARC". Completed in the Spring of 2015, the ARC is more than just a building full of books: it is the perfect combination of cutting edge innovations, optimal study areas, and welcoming social spaces. The first floor hosts a Starbucks, several multimedia collaboration stations, open study areas, and our collection of periodicals, movies, and games. The second floor is where you'll find the stacks, private study spaces, and cozy reading nooks. On the third floor, you'll find offices and space for free private and group tutoring.

The Commons is one of the most iconic locations on campus. From campus-wide devotionals, concerts, and carnivals to social club and student organization functions, its amphitheater is a place where excitement and memories are made. With campus-wide wi-fi, on a quiet day, it is a great place to grab some fresh air while you study for an exam or catch some rays while you write a research paper.

Bucy Clock Tower

The Bucy Clock Tower, which can be seen from anywhere on campus, includes an archway and the cornerstone from historic Milan-Sitka. The bell, also from Milan-Sitka, rings at the beginning of each day, before chapel, and at the end of the academic day. Surrounding the base of the tower are quotes from each of the former University Presidents. A campus favorite is from late president, N. B. Hardeman, "No man is wholly and symmetrically educated until he is trained in body, mind, and spirit."

Loyd Auditorium

Loyd Auditorium is the home to a daily campus-wide chapel service. Throughout the year, alumni, students, and friends of the University flock to Loyd Auditorium for one of the many events hosted here. Seating more than 2,700 guests, and with events ranging from graduation and Makin' Music in the spring to the annual homecoming play and concerts in the fall to winter's Benefit Dinner and Lectureship, Loyd is one of the most often-visited locations on campus.

One of two historic houses on campus, the Joy Simon McDaniel House is home to the FHU Honors College and study Abroad. The house is the point location for the annual Honors Scholarship Competition, wherein students with exceptional ACT or SAT scores join on campus to compete for the opportunity to receive a free education at FHU. Aspiring world-travelers meet at the Joy Simon McDaniel house to plan their study abroad adventures.

It's great to be a Lion! The Brewer Sports Center main gymnasium seats nearly 3,000 fans and Smith-Kirk court is where all Lion basketball and volleyball games are held. The Center's walking track, weight room, racquetball courts, as well as the auxiliary and main gym are available for use by athletes and students alike. The Sports Center is also where intramural basketball and volleyball games are held. Whether you're a collegiate athlete or an aspiring intramural champion, the Brewer Sports Center will play an exciting role in your FHU experience.

Welcome to Carnes Field, home of the Lion Baseball team! In addition to baseball, FHU has several other teams competing in the NAIA Division 1, American Midwest Conference. Completed in 2012, the Anderson Science Center is the first phase of a planned 40,000 square foot academic facility. State-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories within the Center were specifically designed according to the needs of individual classes and majors. This building houses the biology and chemistry programs and provides faculty and students with ample research space. The Anderson Science Center is sister to the Associates Science Center for nursing, pre-engineering, math and computer science students.

Home to the College of Business, Brown-Kopel is the largest academic facility on campus. Ayers Auditorium, located on the first floor, is a frequent venue for visiting speakers and large student presentations. While B.K. is known as the "business building," its classrooms are also frequently used for some of the University's most popular courses due to their size and built-in technology.

Welcome to the headquarters of the FirstBank Investment Team. This classroom was outfitted through the real earnings of a team of eight to ten finance and accounting students. The team invests a real $1 million into the stock market each year; and their annual gains have outperformed the NASDAQ and S&P 500 since 2009! The FirstBank Investment Team is just one of many opportunities that Freed-Hardeman students have to gain real-world experience. The Gardner Center is the first place you'll go when you visit FHU for your on-campus visit. Also called the Welcome Center, prospective students will find reserved parking in the front of the building and the Offices of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, and Admissions located inside. The Gardner Center is also home to the Office of University Advancement College of Biblical Studies and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. You'll also find WFHU The Lion 91.5 FM, a 10,500 watt student-run full-service radio station providing unbeatable hands-on experience for broadcast and journalism majors.

Wallace-Gano Dining Hall

Wallace-Gano Dining Hall is the premiere dining facility on campus. Have breakfast before a big test, follow the chapel crowd to lunch, or grab a satisfying dinner before your evening intramural game. With flexible hours, Gano is open and ready to serve you with its all-you-can-eat and grab-and-go options. Don't forget about a student favorite at Gano: the famous soft-serve ice cream machine! On the lower level of the dining hall, you'll find the student center and Lion's Pride. Lion's Pride is a quick-dining option that offers sandwiches, salads, and a full-service grill.

Old Main

One of the most beloved buildings on campus, Old Main is also the oldest building on FHU's campus. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places, the original administrative building was designed by architect Hubert T. McGee, who also designed Elvis's Pink Palace. Old Main was originally built at a cost of $35,000 and was recently renovated at a cost of more than $5.5 million. Sing in Old Chapel Hall, study in one of the building's beautiful classrooms, or meet with your faculty advisor in a third floor office... however you use Old Main, it's history will become a part of yours.

A truly unique space on campus, the Blackbox Theatre provides the perfect location for campus productions and events. From student-produced plays to intimate concerts and classes, this space is utilized in almost unlimited ways.

What's better for an art student than a classroom where you're encouraged to write, draw, or paint on the walls? Completed in 2011, the Bulliner Clayton Visual Arts Center is an artist's dream come true. The Art Center houses one of the largest printmaking presses available, a 20-monitor Mac lab for digital design courses, a photography darkroom, painting and drawing studios, and private senior workspaces. The Troy Plunk Art Gallery provides the perfect space for faculty and students to showcase their creations.

Also known as privileged housing, Tyler and Woods-East Apartments are reserved for senior-level students. Each apartment is shared by four men or four women, and each unit boasts its own kitchen, dining space, living room, four individual bedrooms, and two full baths.
