Hi my name is Livy. War eagle and congratulations. Taking this virtual tour of Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is the first step in a journey that will prepare you to enter the real world, and to change that world in ways that graduates of few other engineering programs can. Yes, we are a little biased, but once you take a look around you'll see we have good reason to be! We have recently completed construction of the state-of-the-art Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center in order to provide the best student-centered engineering experience in America. We have world-class faculty members on the forefront of research ranging from cutting-edge approaches to cybersecurity to technology that will one day take astronauts to Mars. Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center

Hi my name is Noah and welcome to the brand new Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center. This expansive, 94,000 square foot facility is located in the heart of the College of Engineering's campus and features classrooms, private and group study spaces, as well as labs and a state-of-the-art makerspace available for all engineering students to design, build and test their projects. As a prospective student you will start your journey here in our Office of K-12 Outreach, Recruitment and Scholarship. Our friendly staff will be with you every step of the way to make sure you are prepared for your journey at Auburn University.
Broun Hall – Electrical and Computer Engineering

Hi, I'm Ryan. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, located in the newly renovated Broun Hall, is all about making better electronics and computer systems. Our graduates are in high-demand in tech hubs around the world, doing everything from generating and distributing electrical power, designing advanced medical imaging and diagnostic equipment, creating communication systems to connect the world, and building next-generation robotic systems. We have degree tracks in electrical engineering, computer engineering and wireless engineering. Students can also get involved outside the classroom in the IEEE Auburn University Student Branch or work as a research assistant in the Alabama Micro/Nano Science and Technology Center or the MRI Research Center.

The stately 75,000 square foot facility boasts unrivaled research and instruction in Thermal Sciences, Design and Manufacturing, System Dynamics and Controls, and Mechanics. Be sure to check out War Eagle Motorsports, Auburn's organization for international Formula SAE and Formula Student competitions, or stop by the amazing Biomechanical Engineering Laboratory, which has recently revolutionized athletic injury prevention through 3-D printed orthotics.

Hi, I'm Ashley. The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is home to a group of engineers dedicated to designing and improving processes to make work more efficient and safer. Whether shortening a rollercoaster line, streamlining an operating room, distributing products worldwide or manufacturing superior automobiles, Auburn industrial and systems engineers are up for the challenge. Our students receive hands-on experiential learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, preparing them for today's job market. With industrial engineering jobs in demand, our students and graduates are highly recruited for internships, co-ops and full-time positions by major companies, such as Honda, Exxon Mobil, BMW and Disney. We are proud to count wireless telecommunications pioneer Samuel Ginn and Apple CEO Tim Cook among our graduates.
Shelby Center East – Computer Science and Software Engineering

Hi my name is Devon. Shelby Center East is home to the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. The department is one of the fastest growing departments on campus, with more than 1,400 students. CSSE students are in high demand upon graduation, commanding average starting salaries of more than $70,000. While students learn the latest technologies and techniques in the classroom, they put those skills to use in student groups like the Association of Computing Machinery and the Ethical Hacking Club. The department's faculty is also at the forefront of research in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Hi, I'm Alex. Looking at it now, you might not know that this beautiful facility is nearly 100 years old. Yet thanks to a recent $18 million renovation, the Gavin Engineering Research Laboratory provides students with fantastic experience with the most modern advancements in fabrication technology. It houses the Center for Polymer and Advanced Composites, the Nuclear Power Generations Systems Program, and the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence, which has quickly turned Auburn into the nation's go-to-destination for 3-D printing.

Hello my name is Tyler… One of the most iconic spots on the Auburn University campus, Samford Hall has been an enduring symbol of Auburn for well over a century. Built in 1888, Samford is one of a handful of Auburn buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it houses the university's central administration, including the president's office. The Samford Lawn is also a popular study spot for students, who enjoy soaking up the sun while preparing for tests and completing homework. Just a minute's walk from Samford Hall is Toomer's Corner. Toomer's is THE gathering spot for Auburn fans after a big win. But don't forget the toilet paper! Rolling the beloved Toomer's oak trees is a time-honored tradition practiced by generations of Auburn fans. And while you're at Toomer's Corner, don't forget to pop over to Toomer's Drugs for a refreshing glass of its world-famous lemonade.
