Hello and welcome to Dean College. Founded in 1865, Dean College is located in the suburban town of Franklin, Massachusetts. Less than an hour outside of Boston, Dean gives you that small town feel with plenty of big opportunities. And with about 1,200 students from all over the country and around the world, I guarantee that you will never get lost in a crowd. Whether you study in our school of the Arts, Dance, Business, or Liberal Arts, you will be challenged, supported, and well prepared to enter the workforce with skills gained through our Dean Career Advantage. Here at the center of campus you can see many of our academic buildings including the iconic Dean Hall, focal point of the college. This is the building that started it all in 1865 and generations of students have passed through its doors. While the students are constantly changing, Dean Hall has always been here and always will. Even after your departure from Dean, you will continue to be a part of the history. Today this building is home to a mix of faculty, administration and student uses including residence halls, Student Financial Planning, the Center for Business, Entertainment and Sport Management, our campus safety headquarters, our student-run radio station, and the digital studios.

Our state of the art Library Learning Commons is equipped with everything you need to learn in your own way. The first floor is home to the Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics, and Presentation Excellence, providing free tutoring and subject-based support. On the second floor, next to the Bulldog Beanery, is the Morton Family Learning Center. Here you'll find unique open study spaces, and can coordinate any needed accommodations through Accessibility Services. The third floor houses our Academic Coaches, and is the center for our Arch Learning Community, a comprehensive program for students with diagnosed learning differences. Students learn important executive skills in this building to carry with them into the work force after earning their degree. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to making students as well-rounded and prepared as possible for their future careers.

The Performing Arts Studio is just one space used and loved by our dance and theatre students, in addition to our Main Stage. Its dance rehearsal spaces are equipped with floor to ceiling mirrors, ballet barres, and sprung marley flooring. The second floor of the building is home to a 100-seat black box theatre that doubles as a rehearsal space. Our performing arts majors receive conservatory-level training rooted in a liberal arts foundation while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance or Theatre, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Dean is also one of few schools in the country with a dedicated athletic trainer for dance and theatre students.

Welcome to the Campus Center, the "hub" of campus and student life! Here you'll find everything from our fitness center to our bookstore, mailroom, two performance spaces, a variety of classrooms, staff offices, and the atrium, a frequent hang-out spot for students between classes. Our advising center is home to your Success and Career Advisor, who will help you navigate your degree and career path through the Dean Career Advantage, playing a key role in preparing you for life after college. This building is also home to our Student Activities and Leadership Development office, who oversee our clubs and organizations, and host many events and activities per year!

Here on Lower Campus, you can see just a few of our thirteen residence halls. Dean offers several types of living spaces including traditional, house style, suite style, and fully furnished condos for upperclassmen. Most students choose to live on campus: upwards of 90%! That's because at Dean, students are guaranteed housing for all four years, so you'll never have to worry. No matter where you live on campus, you will always be a part of a close, supportive community.

Our all you can eat, buffet style Smith Dining Center is the main eatery on campus. No need to count swipes, your dining plan will be unlimited! There is a pizza, burger and French fry station, an international station, a make your own salad bar, customizable deli station, and rotating hot plate stations with plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and allergy-friendly options. Not to mention a delicious assortment of desserts! Also in the campus center is Boomer's, our late night, pub style dining option, complete with lounge areas, gaming stations, and pool tables. Stop by the Bulldog Beanery in the library between classes for a Starbucks coffee or grab-and-go snack!

Pieri Gym is home to our NCAA Division III Bulldog Athletics. When the John Jackson Court is not being used for our Men's and Women's basketball and volleyball games, you can find intramural sports and other student events in this space. Our athletes also frequent both the athletic training room and fitness center in this building, specifically designed and open for them. Through the back doors of the gym is Grant Field, a synthetic turf field used by our outdoor teams for practice and competition. Just off campus is Longley Athletic Complex, home to our football, baseball, softball, and soccer teams. The Dean community has a strong sense of school spirit. Will we find you sporting your Bulldog gear on the field, on the court, or in the stands?

If you are looking for something to do off campus, you don't have to go very far. Downtown Franklin, which is right next to campus, has something for everyone including restaurants, shops, and the commuter rail, which brings you into Boston. There are also lots of opportunities for community service activities, part time jobs, and internships. Dean is the exclusive academic partner of the Kraft Sports and Entertainment Group, bringing more opportunity for internships and learning outside of the classroom. Take a short trip down the highway to do some shopping at the Wrentham Premium Outlets or Patriots Place, or catch a game at Gillette Stadium!
