Crites Hall

Memorial Hall

Memorial Hall houses the art, music, and theatre programs. Events for the public, such as musical performances, plays, art gallery openings, and many other cultural activities can be found here. Memorial Hall also hosts Ivy Day, a honors program that dates back to the 1920s.

Work Hall/Wing

Edna Work Hall is one of CSC's residence halls. Featuring large rooms throughout, Edna Work Hall, and the adjoining Wing, is a relaxing home away from home. The Wing houses freshmen, and rooms feature built-in shelves and storage. The Hall houses upperclassmen, and rooms are arranged in suites, with shared living rooms and kitchenettes, plus private bathrooms. A common area features a pool table and other recreation activities, plus a study space.

Old Admin

Old Admin is the oldest building on campus and is the center of the Liberal Arts school. The communication, education, justice studies, and social science programs are housed in Old Admin. English, creative writing, and humanities are also based in Old Admin. The building is home to "The Eagle," CSC's award-winning student newspaper, as well as a mock courtroom and forensics lab.

The south end of campus features a network of trails culminating in one of CSC's landmarks, C-Hill. Get a sense of the western Nebraska landscape as you explore rocky hills and the wooded area around Briggs Pond, southwest of campus. In addition to the local trails around campus, you can find many places to explore in the area around Chadron, including Chadron State Park, Fort Robinson State Park, and the Nebraska National Forest.

Chicoine Center

The Chicoine Center, part of CSC's sports complex, is home to the Eagles basketball and volleyball teams, plus wrestling events, and houses the CSC athletic offices and locker rooms. A full service training room is available for student-athletes and there's also a weight room. At the Chicoine Center, fans enjoy a loud gameday experience, with comfortable seating and a big screen to watch the action. Graduation ceremonies also take place in the Chicoine Center.

Sports Complex

CSC's Sports Complex includes the Chicoine Center, an athletic center with two gymnasiums, locker rooms, meeting rooms, a weight room and offices, a softball field, an outdoor track, and Don Beebe Stadium, which is the home of the Eagles football team. The facility features a turf field and big screen for replays, with plenty of seating for fans to have a great gameday experience. Games played under the lights are special events, and every game features a fun atmosphere.

Nelson Physical Activity Center

The Nelson Physical Activity Center is home to the health, physical education, and recreation program, in addition to workout space for students, employees, and the public. The NPAC features an arena with an indoor track and three courts, weight room, cardio room, public locker rooms, and racquetball courts. Many student intramural events take place in the NPAC.

King Library

King Library, located centrally on campus, is a learning commons for students to study and research. The library includes the IT help desk, and a full set of student services, including tutoring, career advice, structured study groups, and creative workspaces. Transitional Studies, the Office of Academic Success, and Career and Internship Services are also located in the library.

Student Center

When you want to hang out on campus, the Student Center is the place to be. The student lounge area, The Pit, features regularly scheduled activities such as pool and hoop shoot tournaments, video games, and plenty of space to relax. The Student Center also contains a buffet-style dining room, and a made-to-order grille.

Residence Hall Complex

Kent Hall, Andrews Hall, and High Rise make up the central student housing complex in the heart of the CSC campus. The Hub connects the three halls, and includes space for student activities. A convenience store for late-night snacking is located in the High Rise lobby. Each residence hall includes additional gathering spaces for students. The outdoor activity space south of the residence halls has a basketball court, sand volleyball, and space to kick back and relax in a hammock.

Kent Hall

Kent Hall houses freshmen, while Andrews Hall and High Rise house upperclassmen. These residence halls are located close to the Student Center and are within easy walking distance of many of the academic buildings.

Math and Science Building

The Math Science Center of Innovative Learning is home to the wide variety of pre-professional health programs, physical and life science programs, and mathematical science program. Students wishing to enter the health care field get their start here, with dedicated faculty and facilities, including state-of-the art technology and labs, as well as a human cadaver lab. In addition to classroom and lab spaces, the COIL features several museums: the High Plains Herbarium, a teaching collection that houses plants specimens, the Eleanor Barbour Cook Museum of Geology, and the Veath Family Planetarium.

Burkhiser Complex

The Burkhiser Complex houses the business program and family and consumer sciences program. Students gain the knowledge they need for business service and leadership, while FCS students learn to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities through child care, design and merchandising, nutrition and wellness, and health and human services. Burkhiser also houses a large collection of animal mounts that agriculture and rangeland management faculty use as teaching aids.

Rangeland Complex

The Rangeland Complex, home to the college's large rangeland program includes classroom and laboratory spaces, and an arena for rodeo practice and livestock classes. Located high on the east end of campus, the Rangeland Complex overlooks CSC and Chadron beyond, providing stunning views throughout the year.

Eagle Ridge

Eagle Ridge is the newest student housing on campus, and features unique architecture in a quiet setting. Eagle Ridge features apartment-style suites: Up to four students per suite enjoy private sleeping quarters and share a bathroom, living room, and kitchenette. Eagle Ridge is a great place for groups of friends to live together on campus.

Downtown Chadron

*hadron, known as the Magic City, blossomed in pioneer days after the railroad arrived. Homesteaders who originally settled about five miles farther west packed up and moved all their homes, businesses, and possessions in one day in 1885 after the Fremont, Elkhorn, and Missouri Valley Railroad announced its intentions to build its depot and town to the east. A self-guided walking tour takes visitors downtown to more than 40 sites that display the architectural features that earned the district its spot on the National Register.

Chadron Area Aquatics and Wellness Center

The Chadron Area Aquatics & Wellness Center is a state of the art facility that offers activities all year long, from water fitness classes to swimming lessons and open swim times. The center features an indoor six-lane lap pool with 1-meter diving board, a therapy pool, and men's and women's changing rooms complete with restrooms, lockers, and shower facilities. The center is open year-round and features a 15-foot slide, children's slide, dump buckets, and a splash pad with a zero-entry to the pool.
