School of Education

Welcome to the School of Education. We offer cutting-edge, engaging teacher preparation, innovative undergraduate degrees, and Colorado's top-ranked graduate education programs. Our campus home offers interactive classrooms and small class sizes to create a close-knit community of learners and colleagues. The walls feature community-created art, including mosaic sculptures of scholars and activists who have helped expand opportunities for CU Boulder students from diverse backgrounds. Doctoral student workspaces are next to the faculty offices and research centers to promote opportunities for collaboration and learning. And our many bright, community spaces nurture lasting relationships between all members of our community.

Leeds School of Business

We've now arrived at the Leeds School of Business. Nationally ranked, the school of business was established in 1906, making it one of the oldest business schools in the country. Leeds offers a rich curriculum with an overarching commitment to entrepreneurship and sustainability education and includes divisions in accounting, finance, management and entrepreneurship, marketing, and real estate.

College of Engineering and Applied Science

The Engineering Center is one of five buildings making up the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. It features classrooms, computing facilities, faculty offices, and research laboratories. Highly ranked nationally and globally, the college offers 14 undergraduate majors and more than 35 graduate programs. Students are involved in hands-on design, high-tech research, and an opportunities to put engineering theory into practice. The Engineering Center is home to the *BOLD* Center, a nationally recognized program promoting a diverse environment in engineering, as well as the nation's largest geotechnical centrifuge, low-turbulence wind tunnels, spectrometers, electron and other microscopes, clean rooms, 3D printers, a structural analysis facility, and two cafes.

Aerospace Engineering

The Aerospace Engineering Sciences Building is a dedicated home for world-class learning and research. Completed in 2019, it contains unique laboratory facilities, collaborative research environments, and immersive educational opportunities. CU Boulder is the place for aerospace. It is the top university recipient of NASA research awards and has produced 18 astronauts. Our students and faculty are pushing the limits of aeronautics and astronautics research, designing next generation uncrewed aircraft, expanding the possibilities of remote sensing, and building space instruments and satellites for orbit around Earth and beyond.

Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community (SEEC)

As part of the College of Arts and Sciences, students in the natural sciences learn from leading faculty in the life sciences, physical sciences, and the earth and environmental sciences. Arts and sciences faculty members include Nobel laureates, MacArthur "genius grant" winners, National Medal of Science winners, Fulbright faculty, and American Association for the Advancement of Science fellows. The college's natural sciences programs are nationally and internationally ranked in undergraduate and graduate education, bringing world-class research and scholarship to our students, both in and out of the classroom.

Biotechnology

The Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building is a world-class teaching and research center, home to a diverse array of chemical and biological engineers and scientists, medical researchers and others. Faculty, students and staff from multiple disciplines work to address a variety of health and bioscience challenges including cancer, aging, cardiovascular and inherited diseases, vaccine and pharmaceutical development, and tissue engineering. It is also home to researchers developing renewable and sustainable energy solutions, cutting-edge materials research, nanotechnology and more. The building is home to the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, the Department of Biochemistry, and the BioFrontiers Institute, a cross-disciplinary research and education center.

College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI)

The College of Media, Communication and Information, known as *CMCI*, offers six undergraduate major programs and multiple minor, certificate and graduate-level programs. Students and faculty work together across departments to investigate social issues and solve problems. Classes are often project-based and several programs offer credit for internships, giving students real-world experience and a marketable portfolio. The college has classrooms and creative spaces throughout campus, including podcasting booths, an immersive media lab and a speaking lab. CMCI is also home to *Radio1190*, Colorado's largest college radio station; a student broadcast studio where NewsTeam Boulder and Buff Sports Live are filmed; and The Bold student media outlet.

ATLAS

Inside this next stop, you'll find students exploring ideas through radical creativity and invention. The ATLAS Institute and its programs support cross-disciplinary interactions aimed at transforming ideas into reality through research, experimentation and critical thinking. Special features include a 150-seat auditorium, a performance and recording space, the Blow Things Up Lab hackerspace, and a production studio. One of ATLAS' most well-known programs is the Creative Technology & Design Program which offers a major, minor and graduate degrees. Within the Roser ATLAS Center, you’ll also find the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Cinema Studies & Moving Image Arts, which is among the top film programs in the nation.

College of Arts and Sciences - Hale Social Sciences

The Hale Science Building, named for the university's second president, Horace M. Hale, is one of the university's oldest buildings and houses the Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Anthropology is a part of our social sciences division. Along with anthropology, majors in the social sciences encompass ethnic studies, economics, political science, international affairs, linguistics, sociology, speech language and hearing sciences, and women and gender studies. Many of our social science programs are highly ranked in the nation and the world. Our faculty take collaborative, trans-disciplinary approaches to their fields. By doing so, the faculty generate new knowledge and innovations that are in turn taught right here to our students.

College of Arts and Sciences - Visual Arts Center (VAC)

We've now arrived at the Visual Arts Complex, one of the largest art facilities in the country. The VAC has a two-building design that is connected by a third-floor breezeway and pedestrian mall. The west building serves as a studio, and the east building houses the CU Art Museum. The museum has a permanent collection of more than 5,000 works of art and includes two permanent collection galleries and two changing exhibition galleries. Public and student art is featured in the buildings.

Program in Environmental Design (ENVD)

The Program in Environmental Design provides students with the knowledge to design and create the built environment. Environmental design students are addressing global environmental concerns by integrating environmental preservation with built environment planning and design. Environmental Design provides a unique, interdisciplinary approach to design education, integrating hands-on, experiential learning with design theory. Students learn from and collaborate with licensed design professionals to create design solutions at scales from products to cities. The Bachelor of Environmental Design degree at the University of Colorado Boulder provides a pre-professional education with majors in architecture, environmental product design, landscape architecture and sustainable planning and urban design.

College of Music

Since 1920, the College of Music has offered a range of programs for undergraduates and graduates, integrating advanced musical training with professionally oriented experiences and the resources of a leading research university. Our music faculty are award-winning professional performers, published scholars and composers, and dedicated pedagogues. College of Music faculty are committed to helping students develop their talents and succeed in their musical endeavors. The college's *Imig* Music Building houses recital halls, large ensemble rehearsal rooms, a choral room, faculty studios, classrooms, offices, practice rooms, a recording studio and more. Students have access to a music library and the American Music Research Center; plus our wellness program and the Entrepreneurship Center for Music.
