Welcome to Claflin University - the oldest Historically Black College and University in South Carolina! Many of our buildings are a part of the National Register of Historic Places including Tingley Memorial Hall. In Tingley Hall you will find our administrative offices including the President's Office, the Provost's Office, Admission's Office and the Registrar's Office.
Before we get started, let me explain the many ways you can explore our beautiful space.

Grace T. Kennedy Business and Communications Building

Kennedy Business and Communications Building where you'll find the classrooms and offices for the School of Business, the Department of English and Foreign Languages, and the Department of Mass Communications, as well as the mass communications studio and Mac lab.
Bowen Hall

The Music Center/ W.V. Middleton Fine Arts Center

If you want to hear the University's choir or band or would like to see one of the stage plays, stop by the Music Center and W.V. Middleton Fine Arts Center. This building contains an auditorium with a seating capacity of more than 750 people, classrooms, seminar rooms, dressing and practice rooms, and several well equipped offices.
James S. Thomas Science Center

Hubert V. Manning Library

Need time for research - come to the Hubert V. Manning Library! The library maintains and circulates current holdings of approximately 140,000 books, bound periodicals, microfilm, and audio and video recordings. The library subscribes to more than 330 periodical publications and 24 newspapers, and manages extensive multimedia resources.

The Arthur Rose Museum

The Arthur Rose Art Museum showcases the artwork of students, faculty, staff as well as alumni and friends of the University. Constructed in 1898, it initially served as a college library and is featured in an exhibity at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Complex

The Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Complex provides holistic health, nutrition, and lifelong wellness education to the Claflin University campus community and area residents. The James and Dorothy Z. Elmore Chapel

Considered to be the faith hub of the campus, the James and Dorothy Z. Elmore Chapel not only serves as a place of worship services or weddings, it is the educational building for those students who are studying religion and philosophy as well as humanities and social sciences.

Student Residential Center

The Student Residential Center consists of four state-of-the-art residence halls: North Hall, South Hall, East Hall and West Hall. The Student Residential Center accommodates 300 students. The quad apartment-styled suites consist of
four single-occupancy bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a common living space and a dining area. Each suite is technologically equipped with Internet, telephone and cable television connections. Also included are a series of computer study rooms for students and comfortable accommodations for residence hall managers.
