The Student Union is a social mecca of campus, providing a host of popular hangouts and services under one roof. It's home to several prominent student-focused destinations including the office of the Alumni Association, the Center for Student Involvement, and the Cross Cultural Center. It's also home to banking, computer and copy facilities, Xtreme Fitness Center, The Pit rec lounge, Café L.A., and other onsite dining options.

The University Bookstore, operated by Barnes and Noble, is located in the Golden Eagle. Here you can pick up books for class and downtime, as well as supplies and tools to organize your life. You can also shop for Cal State apparel, gifts, fitness gear, laptops and other technology.

The Golden Eagle, conveniently located in the heart of campus, serves as a one-stop for the University community. The three-floor, two-structure facility is your destination for quick meals, drinks, snacks and restaurant dining. It's also where you'll find textbooks, general reading books, gifts and gear at the University Bookstore; where you might attend a banquet hall event or meeting; where you can use a computer and make copies, and where you can pick up your CalState One Card, which serves both as an I.D. card and a debit card for a variety of expenditures on campus.

Administration

The Administration building is a destination both for Cal State L.A.'s leadership – including the University's President and the Vice President and Provost of Academic Affairs – but also a destination for students. You might come to the Admin building to discuss your enrollment or class registration. You might also come by to pay your tuition or manage your student loans.

Engineering & Technology

The recently-renovated Engineering & Technology Building provides the departments within with state-of-the-art learning and research environments, including a new Environmental Design Laboratory. Inside, students prepare for careers in Engineering, Aviation, Graphic Communications, Industrial Technology, and Computer Hardware and Software.

Fine Arts

Welcome to the Fine Arts at Cal State L.A. In addition to having one of the city's preeminent fine arts complexes right here on campus, the Department of Fine Arts has its own instructional and gallery spaces. Inside these walls, students hone their skills in a range of creative disciplines, from animation and graphic design to fashion & textiles and studio arts. On the more academic side, students can also take courses and pursue degrees in Art Education and Art History. The facility houses studios, classrooms, offices and two computer labs. The Fine Arts Gallery gives students a dedicated venue to exhibit their own work.

King Hall

King Hall is home to the Charter College of Education, where the next generation of educators and counselors pursue degrees ranging from Urban Learning to Marriage and Family Therapy. The Hall features eight computer classrooms, lecture halls, faculty offices and centers. Dolcini's Café, one of the most popular quick bite and beverage spots on campus, is located just outside the Hall.

Library

At the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library, students can access more than a million books as well as thousands of digital items, microforms, periodicals and other reference materials. The library also provides students with both research and self-service computers, and an array of study options from Wireless Study Areas to Graduate Cubicles. The Music & Media Center on North Library's third floor offers a collection of sound recordings, print music, and videos. You can explore items here at the Library or choose from a selection of DVD's to borrow.

Music

The Music Building is home to the University's Music Department. Here, vocalists and instrumentalists have opportunities to improve their technique, practice and perform at a variety of venues. In addition to classrooms, the facility features practice rooms, rehearsal studios and halls, and targeted instruction and computer labs. There are several performance ensembles within the department to take part in, including Jazz and Latin Music ensembles, Orchestras and Operas. Many larger-scale performances are held at the acclaimed Luckman Theatre, and at prominent venues all over the world.

Luckman Theater

The Luckman Theatre boasts one of the largest stages in L.A., making it a popular venue for both the Cal State L.A. community and the general public. Here, and inside some of the other buildings in the Luckman Fine Arts Complex, you can catch world-class entertainment in the form of theater, film, dance and visual art. The Theatre seats more than 1,100 guests and is widely known as home of the Luckman Jazz Orchestra, which attracts some of the top guest vocalists and musicians in the Jazz world.
