North Campus

Hayes Hall, a campus icon and a National Historic Landmark, is home to UB's School of Architecture and Planning. Here in Hayes, and across UB, our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art-technology to make engaging in meaningful class discussions easy - even in large lecture halls. The Oscar A. Silverman Library in *Capen* Hall is a discovery and academic support hub. Capen is a convenient one-stop shop for essential student services, like getting your UB card and getting answers about financial aid. Need to pay tuition or get a transcript? It's all here. Other offices in Capen include Tutoring and Academic Support Services, which offers free tutoring to all undergraduate students, along with academic coaching and peer-assisted learning, and the Office of Accessibility Resources that supports students with disabilities to ensure equitable access for everyone. Each undergraduate has an academic advisor who specializes in their major, program or scholarly community. Academic support staff and peer mentors ensure your journey is smooth from day one.

Health and Wellness & Campus Safety

This new Student Health facility is conveniently located just a few minutes from both North and South Campuses, with shuttle service running every 20 minutes. Here, we provide confidential, high-quality medical services for things like illness and injuries, ongoing medical problems, sexual and reproductive health, and more. UB Student Wellness also includes Counseling Services and Health Promotion, which, collectively, facilitate the wellbeing and success of our diverse student body by providing medical, mental health, prevention and health promotion programs and services.  Our team works with students to create a personalized health and wellness plan to ensure they are able to succeed in and outside of the classroom.

Getting around UB is quick, easy, and free! Whether you're on the North, South, or Downtown Campus, our Stampede buses and shuttles make it easy to get to class, visit friends, or shop at select destinations nearby. Our campuses are also connected to NFTA bus routes and MetroRail, so the city is just a short ride away. No car? No problem! You can bike around campus too—UB offers free fix-it stations and two free tune-up days each year. We even offer a bike share program through ReddyBike. With transportation options that make it easy to get where you need to go, you'll never miss out on anything at UB.

UB's green spaces, which include a recreational lake and a 65-acre living woods, are perfect for outdoor activities year-round. Whether you enjoy hiking, biking or playing sports, there's always something to do. Buffalo experiences four beautiful seasons, from vibrant summers full of festivals to snowy winters ideal for skiing. On North Campus, you'll find plenty of outdoor recreational spaces, such as tennis courts, walking trails and Lake LaSalle, where students often kayak or canoe beside the iconic columns at Baird Point. North Campus also hosts traditions like Oozefest—UB's famous mud volleyball tournament that brings students together for some messy fun!

We're standing at UB's GRoW Home, an ultra-energy-efficient demonstration house located on the edge of the Solar Strand on North Campus. Built by UB students, faculty, and staff for a national competition, the GRoW Home now serves as a clean energy education center. UB is committed to sustainability with initiatives that reduce our environmental impact and promote climate action. Our campuses feature solar panels, energy-efficient buildings, and green spaces.
