Antelope Valley College began hosting classes in the late 1920s as an extension of Antelope Valley Joint Union High School in Lancaster, California. Now an accredited community college since 1952, AVC offers an array of versatile and convenient collegiate programming. The Student Services Building can be found on the southeast end of campus. If you are interested in visiting Antelope Valley College, you can begin here, at the enclosed Information & Welcome Center. The building also houses the Offices of Admission, Student Counseling, Campus Activities, and the Career and Transfer Centers.

Located just south of central campus, the Student Center is a frequently visited hub of campus life. You can come here to have a bite in the enclosed cafeteria, or pick up books, office supplies, or lab materials in the Maurader Bookstore. The Center is also responsible for protecting students and their property by way of the building's Departments of Security and Lost & Found.

The Antelope Valley Fine Arts Quad can be found on the west side of campus, adjacent to the Performing Arts Theatre. This is a great place to come peruse one of the job fairs, scholarship convocations, or other events hosted here regularly. The Quad is a popular place to relax or connect with friends, especially as a result of its proximity to AVC's popular and active theatre program.

Antelope Valley College's Performing Arts Theatre hosts a diverse schedule of orchestral programming and musical competitions, open to the AVC community. Plans for this building were developed over the course of 20 years, making it one of the most hugely anticipated and well thought-out facilities on campus. In addition to its rich performance calendar, the building most importantly serves as an instructional center for the Departments of Dance, Music, and Theatre Arts.

The AVC Learning Center is a technically-advanced and versatile academic support system, built to help guide students with varying academic needs. Whether you could benefit from a computer and printing lab, media enriched language instruction, or some extra tutoring in reading, writing, or math, the Learning Center has a customizable program that will work for you. The building also hosts a number of vibrant workshops, including those for time management, essay composition, test preparation, and more.

The Business Education Building is a new 3-story structure, built to foster both a hands-on and theoretical understanding of the global business world. Students in the department have access to the newest learning facilities, including modern computer labs. Whether you are interested in taking a singular workshop, getting certified for a specific program, or taking a number of fundamental business courses, the Business Education Building has a regimen that will suit your goals.

All actively enrolled students can take advantage of AVC Library's resources. In addition to hosting a large collection of printed volumes and periodicals, the library also offers numerous workshops on study techniques, and library science credit classes. If you need a little help beginning a research project, you can ask any related questions online via the "Ask A Librarian" forum, and one of the helpful library staff members will reply personally with suggestions.

The LSI Building contains offices, classrooms and labs for the Departments of Language Arts, and Social & Behavioral Sciences. The latter offers a mix of classes, including basic fundamental survey courses, or more specific topics of study, such as gender, child psychology, and counseling. The Language Arts Department covers a wide variety of subjects in the humanities field, including communication, creative writing, deaf studies, English, journalism, and a number of foreign language studies.
