Connect4Climate and Earth Day Network have been invited by the Vatican to organize a People’s March for the Earth in Rome to showcase global citizen’s undivided support of Pope Francis, and to help bring his message of peace to the attention of all global leaders. The march will take place on November 8, in Rome, in support of the Vicariate of Rome's “Day for the Custody of Creation” celebration. Join us!

On September 24th, Pope Francis addressed the U.S. Congress. Tens of thousands of us flooded the National Mall with a show of support as Pope Francis called for urgent action on economic and climate justice.

This was an historic moment. Pope Francis visited the United States for the first time, to address the Congress. No pope has ever addressed Congress before. Thousands of people gathered at the National Mall, in Washington D.C., to listen the words of the Holy Father.

Angry Birds challenged players of the world to champion the environment and fight climate change in Champions for Earth, a special tournament on Angry Birds Friends with Don Cheadle, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Connect4Climate global climate leaders Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, and the Korean pop sensation VIXX. We are pleased to announce that the game, designed to raise awareness of climate change and support the Earth Day Network's Canopy Project, allowed us to plant 150k trees in Africa.

All across Manhattan, a number of climate-related events took place to direct the discussion towards an ambitious and binding agreement at the UNFCCC COP21 meeting in December in Paris. At the same time, the Sustainable Development Goals were a key topic of discussion in New York. On September 26, the United Nations adopted the ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
