Lenfest Lobby

Our newly renovated Lenfest Lobby is your welcome to campus and it shows off our Phoenix Pride from floor to ceiling. The space features several new seating areas perfect for catching up with friends before class or doing some last minute studying. You'll also often find clubs and other student groups meeting in this space.

Jensen Dining Hall

The Jensen Dining Hall offers continuous food service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, which makes it super convenient for our students to grab a bite to eat in between class and extra-curricular activities. Jensen is sure to have something you'll love, from homemade pizza, to deli sandwiches and specialty made-to-order stations, you won't go hungry. And, for folks with food allergies - no worries. We've got you covered. Oh, and make sure to keep an eye out for pierogi, mac and cheese and stirfry station days. These are campus favs and often have a line out the door, so ger here early!

Residence Halls

Wilson has a total of 7 residence halls; McElwain, Davison, South, Riddle, Prentis, Disert and Rosenkrans. Each hall includes lounge and kitchen areas, free 24/7 laundry facilities, and communal TVs, computers and printers. Students have the option of mutually selecting their roommate(s) or they are matched using our housing survey. All residence halls are within a 5 minute walk to the dining hall and Lenfest Commons, and less than 10 minutes from the main academic buildings.

Laird Hall

Laird Hall features a stage area that is ideal for guest speakers, community events, cultural performances, and in case of rain–an indoor venue for Commencement. Additionally Laird houses the recently renovated Patterson Boardroom and lounge which serves as a state-of-the-art classroom and is where our Board of Trustees meet to help strategically lead the College.

Student Spaces

Lower Lenfest houses several renovated gathering spaces, each with a distinct feel and special amenities. Most notably is the Student Center, which offers a game room atmosphere with pool, ping pong, air hockey and foosball tables, as well as several large TVs with gaming systems. Other spaces include the student-led transformation of Sarah's Coffeehouse, turning it into a laidback, cozy nook complete with a small stage for slam poetry nights and other intimate performances. Our student government spearheaded the task of refreshing the general seating areas on this floor - that's why there is such a cool vibe.

Nursing Resource Center

It's all about hands-on experience for our students in the Nursing Resource Center. With the help of human simulators, also known as high-fidelity mannequins, students pursuing a nursing major can practice giving IV fluids, checking heart and lung sounds, inserting a catheter, even responding to a cardiac arrest or helping to deliver a baby. The center is just one of the many ways our program teaches the practical skills of nursing as well as how to manage the emotional needs of patients and their families.

Conococheague Creek

The Conococheague Creek, or as we call it the Con, flows through campus and offers a picturesque setting when looking for a nature retreat. The creek is open to the community during fishing season and is also a learning resource for several Wilson classes, with many using it as a key source for research activities and data gathering. The Con can be crossed by vehicle or on foot to access the Equestrian Center, Fulton Farm and the soccer and softball fields.

The Equestrian Center spans over 20 acres, with 2 indoor arenas equipped with shadow less lighting and sand/rubber mix footing, 3 barns with 70 stalls, and fenced paddocks and pastures. The center is home to 3 intercollegiate equestrian teams; dressage, hunt seat and western, all are welcome to join, not just equestrian majors. This facility is a real gem for our equine-related majors. Boarding plans are available for students who wish to bring their horse to campus for the academic year.

Athletics

The College cheers on 11 NCAA Division III teams competing in the Colonial States Athletics Conferences; softball, baseball, women's field hockey and lacrosse, men's golf, and men's and women's basketball, soccer and volleyball. Facilities include the Gannett Memorial Fieldhouse, Kris' Meadow where the softball and soccer fields are located, Henninger Field–home to the baseball team and the field hockey and lacrosse field located at the northeast corner of campus. Phoenix Pride is alive and strong on campus ... Goooo Phoenix!

Fulton Farm

The Fulton Farm is our nationally ranked 50-acre farmstead which includes a 7 acre USDA certified organic and certified naturally grown vegetable garden with passive-solar greenhouses and display gardens. The farm has a community composting facility, recycling area and a community-supported agricultural program, that supplies most of the fresh produced served by our dining hall. You'll find many of our students working at the farm at some point during their four years with us, learning about the environment and sustainability.

Hankey Center

The Hankey Center is a research center focused on women's history and the history of Wilson College. It is also home to the C. Elizabeth Boyd Archives – the college archives. Researchers use these materials to understand how education and societal roles for women have changed over time. Many Wilson alumnae have been trailblazers, pursuing careers in medicine, law, and business; others were pioneers in women's suffrage and service in the military. Current students come to the Hankey Center to do research for a variety of courses including First Year Seminar, Sociology, and History. The center also houses a collection of ancient antiquities in the Barron Blewett Hunnicutt Classics Gallery.

Veterinary Education Center

The Veterinary Education Center is our newest facility on campus featuring 9,000 square-feet dedicated to our veterinary nursing students and their learning needs. The VEC includes 2 surgical suites, a dedicated dental room, recovery and isolation rooms as well as kennels and an indoor run for dogs, a cat room, lounge and a clinical practice area. This space prepares students for a rewarding career in many animal care professions. Wilson is definitely an animal-friendly campus with the VEC home to several dogs, cats, birds and other furry friends that live on campus year-round.

Lortz Hall encompasses all things fine arts with studio art spaces, a photography lab and ceramics studio. Lortz is also home to the Bogigian Gallery which exhibits student, faculty and staff artwork as well as shows featuring visiting artists and the annual juried high school student art exhibition.

Brooks Science Center

The Brooks Science Center is the primary academic building for those majors with an emphasis in science or math. It features 11 lab suites, 2 computer labs, a greenhouse, a museum of natural history and the largest auditorium on campus. You'll be hard-pressed not to have a class or three in this impressive building chocked full of technology and great research space. It's often home to many prospective student events like open houses and other academic events.

The Academic Quad, recently renamed the Mistick Quad, in honor of former president Dr. Barbara K. Mistick who oversaw the revitalization of the space. The Mistick Quad lies at the heart of campus and joins 4 principle academic buildings - the John Stewart Memorial Library, Warfield Hall, Brooks Science Center and Lortz Hall. Here you'll find a sprawling green courtyard, rambling walkways, and on beautiful days, often a game of frisbee or other outdoor recreational activities.

John Stewart Memorial Library

The John Stewart Memorial Library was reopened in the fall of 2015 after extensive, multi-million dollar renovations to the original building as well as the construction of a new three-story addition that features the College Store, an art gallery, our learning commons, our own coffee shop, featuring Starbucks products, and an outdoor plaza that's perfect for creative performances, special events or studying. The library also houses the Academic Success Center, our IT Help Desk, and a Writing Lab, plus a commuter student lounge, numerous study rooms, conference rooms and classroom spaces.

Appenzellar-Buchanan Dance Studio

The Appenzellar-Buchanan Dance Studio is where dance minors, Master of Fine Arts students and Orchesis members spend hours developing and articulating their artistic visions as choreographers and performers. Orchesis is a student-led dance group that introduces students to the broadest opportunities possible for active participation in the various forms of dance. Students work with visiting artists; attend performances in other venues; study in New York City; engage in choreographic projects; work in the community to educate and develop an audience for dance; gain experience in lighting, sound and costume design – all technical aspects of performance.
