Welcome to the heart of campus! The iconic campus clock sits in a central location here at UWRF – you can get virtually anywhere on campus in just five minutes! The beautiful setting makes it the perfect backdrop for everything from your first campus tour photo to your senior pictures! University Center

The University Center, or UC as we call it, is where life happens here on campus! Start your day with breakfast at the dining hall, pop into the Involvement Center to take part in a club meeting, meet up with friends, study or collaborate with classmates. Have lunch or dinner at Riverside Commons or one of our quick serve options, grab a caffeine boost before classes and take in all the amenities the UC has to offer. In the evenings, join us in the Falcon’s Nest for everything from live bands to guest speakers, comedians, open mic nights and so much more.

University Center - Lower Level

Hungry? Head to the lower level of the UC! You can sit and eat with friends at our all you care to eat option in Riverside Commons. There you’ll find homestyle entrees, salads, sandwiches, pizza, international options and so much more. Or, if you need to grab and go, check out one of our quick serve options that are just a few steps – and one card swipe – away!

West End Residence Halls

College can be one of the best experiences of your life and much of the excitement comes from that first experience living away from home. First and second-year students live in university residence halls where you’ll quickly discover all the advantages of living on campus. You’ll be close to classes, minutes away from dining options and in a safe, supportive environment. The west side of campus is also just a quick walk from Main Street and downtown River Falls! Four of our residence halls are here – Johnson, May, Prucha (PROO-kah) and Stratton.

Wyman Education Building

UWRF is known nationwide for our education, social work and communication sciences and disorders programs. These programs are based in the Wyman Education Building. As a student, you’re going to get hands-on experience right from the start! Our education students learn from experienced classroom teachers and experience school placements and on-site learning opportunities throughout their college careers. We’ve even got an on-campus Speech-Language Hearing Clinic and university preschool where students can gain both incredible hands-on experience and classroom credit.

Agriculture Science Building

Many programs in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences – or CAFES as we call it – call the Agriculture Science Building home. CAFES programs are among the best in the nation and include programs in animal and dairy science, conservation, food science, horticulture, environmental planning, engineering and more. Hands-on learning is a crucial piece of the UWRF experience and Ag Sci houses some incredible opportunities to do just that. Immersive learning experiences happen every day in our dairy, fruit and vegetable and meat processing labs, the greenhouse, the tissue culture lab, our two campus farms and agricultural engineering annex. Whether you’re interested in learning to process cheese, rebuild tractor engines or propagate fruits and veggies, you’ll graduate with first-hand experience in your field.

Rodli Hall

As a Falcon, Rodli (ROD-Lee) Hall is your one stop shop for help. What’s here? Rodli is home to the Financial Aid office, the Disability Resource Center, our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging office, Student Health and Counseling, a tutoring center, our scholars and honors programs, a food pantry for students and so much more! Rodli is also an amazing place to get together with friends to study or socialize, you can even head up to the second floor to sit by the fireplace and enjoy the view. Oh, and the Admissions Office is here too – so stop by and see us when you’re ready to visit or apply!

Falcon Center

The Falcon Center sits on the south edge of campus and houses a 15,000 square-foot fitness center, classrooms, gyms, the ice rink, an indoor climbing center, a state-of-the-art performance lab and multipurpose studios. It’s home to our Health and Human Performance Department where students benefit from active learning classrooms, an exercise physiology lab and other dynamic learning spaces. Campus Recreation also calls the Falcon Center home and rents out everything from bicycles to camping equipment to snowshoes, stand up paddleboards and so much more. And if you’re a sports fan, our NCAA Division Three teams compete in 18 varsity sports (soon to be 20 in fall 2024). The best part is students who are enrolled in at least eight credits receive FREE access to the Falcon Center, meaning you get access to all the perks at no extra cost!

Kleinpell Fine Arts Building

The College of Arts and Sciences comes alive within the walls of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building, also known as KFA on campus. Throughout the year you’ll find everything from choral concerts, band performances, theatre productions and more happening here. Abbott Concert Hall and the Blanche Davis Theatre both call KFA home and you can attend – or even be part of – music and theatre performances as a student! Interested in the screen arts? We’ve got TV Production studios right here in KFA along with a host of well-equipped art studios, including a ceramics studio, painting studio, photography area, three printmaking studios and one of the country’s oldest glassblowing programs.

Centennial Science Hall

UWRF is nationally known for our science programs. Interested in chemistry, physics or psychology? Then you’ll spend time in Centennial Science Hall doing research, participating in labs, collaborating with faculty and more. Our interactive classrooms help you experience your classwork in hands-on ways, allowing you to build your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Like many of our other buildings, faculty offices are right across the hall from classrooms and labs, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities for meaningful interactions with your teachers. We’re further developing our commitment to research, innovation and the STEM areas with our newest building, SciTech. Construction on SciTech began during the summer of 2023 and we can’t wait to celebrate the grand opening!

East End Residence Halls

There are six residence halls on the east end of campus which offer a variety of living arrangements depending on your year in school. Crabtree, Grimm, McMillan and Parker offer more traditional residence hall living while South Fork Suites and Ames Suites are nearby and offer suite-style living options. All the halls put you close to your classes and dining options and offer safe and supportive environments. You’re also going to find nature right at your doorstep as we have green space, walking trails and basketball and volleyball courts for you to enjoy!

Ames Suites

Ames Suites is a residence hall for students who are sophomores or above. Like the name says, in Ames you’ll be in a suite-style community with pods, shared kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms. Our campus is one of the most residential in the UW System and Ames is a fantastic option for safe, convenient, comfy living while at UWRF.

Campus Lab Farm

The Campus Farm covers approximately 130 acres and is home to our equine operations. It includes a mare and colt barn, classrooms, breeding facilities and indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Here, Falcons learn about equine reproduction, horsemanship, and management techniques. The farm also includes a rodeo arena where the UWRF rodeo team hosts the oldest college rodeo in Wisconsin. Held every fall, the rodeo is a unique campus event that you’ll be sure to want to see. The best part is it’s all within walking distance of main campus!

Chalmer Davee Library

Whether you’re looking for a quiet study space, tech help or research assistance, Chalmer Davee Library is the place to go. The library has a ton of study spaces and designated quiet areas so you can get your study on. We’ve also got an expert staff that’s ready to help you with library reference and research materials. The campus tech support team is called DoTS and they’re located in the lower level of the library, meaning help is close by when you need it. The library is also home to one of our more unique offerings – the Esports arena. With both varsity and recreational offerings, the esports arena is full of state-of-the-art gaming equipment so you can up your game.

South Hall

It’s pretty ironic that our oldest building on campus is home to some of our most innovative and cutting-edge thinkers and doers! South Hall is home to our School of Business and Economics programs including accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and more. Incredible things happen in and outside of the classroom in South Hall. Falcons develops practical skills in our trading room, our sales lab and our state-of-the-art maker space. And we know that business is all about building relationships, that’s why we make those dynamics come alive in South Hall. Students regularly meet with and learn from business and industry leaders from our local community and the greater western Wisconsin and Minneapolis St. Paul metro areas.

North Hall

Home to the mathematics, marketing communications and journalism programs, North Hall is one of the most historic buildings on campus. The Student Voice newspaper is produced right here in North Hall and we’ve even got our own radio station, WRFW, on the third floor. The station is part of the statewide Wisconsin Public Radio network and is an amazing place to strengthen your communication skills – you can even host your own radio show! North Hall is also where you’ll find registration and transcript-related information in the Registrar’s Office (and rumor has it, Freddy Falcon lives in North Hall!).

Mann Valley Farm

Mann Valley Farm is just two and a half miles northwest of campus, spans over 475 acres and is home to our dairy, beef, sheep and swine operations. Students in our College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, also known as “cafes” around campus, get unrivaled hands-on experience as part of their education. You can conduct research and do classwork here, work with real animals and even get a job on the farm! And that’s not all. UWRF also partners with industry leaders like Case IH (EYE-H) and Winfield Solutions so you’re going to be working and learning on the latest farm machinery and technology.

Downtown River Falls

Campus is located in the heart of River Falls, a community of just 15,000 people that is full of shops, entertainment and outdoor recreation opportunities. We have grocery store and medical clinic options, lots of local restaurants and even a historic movie theatre within a quick walk of campus. We’re in one of the fastest growing and most scenic parts of Wisconsin, meaning you’ll have plenty to do right in our backyard. Explore local events like Bacon Bash, Arts Fest or River Falls Days, kayak down the Kinnickinnick River, grab a pole and hit up one of the hidden gem fishing spots near campus or get out and explore the dozens of local and state parks surrounding us. And if you don’t mind a drive, the incredible Minneapolis St. Paul metro area is only 30 minutes away, meaning you’ve got loads of things to see and do just a short distance from campus!

Amphitheater/Path to Falcon Center

Head over to the Falcon Center and you’ll find yourself immersed in the beauty of campus. The paved paths along the Kinnickinnic River provide easy access to our outdoor amphitheater, our expansive intramural sport spaces, our athletic facilities and picnic areas. The pathway also meets up with our campus walking trails so you can enjoy a stroll or bike ride on a nice weather day!

A landmark as you enter campus, Falcons pass through the campus gateway each day as they head to classes or the UC. It makes a great photo backdrop, especially when the flowers are in bloom!
