Welcome to City Heights! Opened in the fall of 2021, City Heights is CU Denver’s state-of-the-art, student housing, dining, and Living, Learning, and Creating Community, located right in the heart of campus and only steps away from Denver’s vibrant downtown. City Heights’ gathering areas, dining options, academic support offices, and student success services are designed to support all CU Denver students. Students can enjoy an exceptional, on-campus residential experience in the City Heights Residence Hall. Accommodating over 550 new students, this housing, dining, and learning complex provides students an alternative to finding a rental in downtown Denver. Students get to live and study in the heart of campus, only seconds away from classrooms, support services, and the very best city activities and cultural centers. Residents can choose either a double or triple room with moveable furniture, storage, and a personal workspace. The common areas and shared amenities on the residential floors provide a sense of place and pride in this home away from home.

Whether or not you live in the City Heights residences, this dining facility is the perfect place to have a nutritious and delicious meal with friends. To dine on campus regularly, meal plans are available for students to enjoy rotating food stations that feature many different cuisines—including a massive Mongolian grill, salad bar, and ice cream station—as well as seasonal samples from local chefs and restaurants. In addition to residence hall dining, students can choose from a variety of restaurants, cafes, food trucks, and other vendors on campus.

Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center

The Lola and Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center was completed in 2018 and is the gym and recreation center for CU Denver students. This main floor space features large study rooms with TVs and lounge furniture – all reservable by students. For recreation activities beyond campus, The Outdoor Adventure desk provides a variety of rentable outdoor gear at a very low cost so you can explore all that Colorado offers. The Outdoor Adventure office also hosts a variety of exciting trips throughout the year for CU Denver students, so get out and start your adventure.

The wellness center has state-of-the art workout spaces and group fitness rooms, as well as three full-size indoor gym courts, a 38-foot-tall climbing and bouldering wall, and a six-lane pool with 25-yard lap lanes and a spa hot tub. In addition to physical wellness, our staff prioritizes personal wellness and mental health. Here, you'll also find a video gaming lounge, a food pantry, and special nap rooms so students can take a quick rest during the day or before exams.
Tivoli Quad

The largest greenspace on campus, the Tivoli Quad is one of CU Denver students' favorite spots. Here, you can relax and enjoy the views of the Tivoli Student Union, downtown Denver, and the Rocky Mountains. It's the perfect place to spread out a blanket for studying, enjoy lunch with a friend, or toss a frisbee in between classes. The Tivoli Quad is host to several CU Denver traditions like New Student Convocation, Festivals, Movie Nights – and of course, our graduation ceremony. There are plenty of green spaces on campus for you and friends to enjoy during one of Denver's 300 days of sunshine.
Tivoli Student Union

Originally built in 1870 as a brewery, the Tivoli Student Union now serves as a landmark and hub for Auraria campus life and services. This building is home to many essential resources including the bookstore, campus ID station, multiple conference, meeting, and hangout spaces, a popular coffee shop, food court, and more. You can still find old brewery artifacts on display throughout the historic building. In 2015, the Tivoli Brewery re-opened to the public and is a popular hangout spot. You'll also find offices for student life, student government, the LGBTQ+ student resource center, the counseling center, and the Phoenix Center – our support center for survivors of interpersonal violence.

This area is home to our Student Life and Student Government offices. CU Denver hosts over 130 student-led organizations on campus focused on shared interests such as sports, arts, politics, activism, and faith.
