Cadet Gym

Our Cadet Gym features state-of-the-art training spaces to fit almost any athletic interest. We're standing in our Cadet Fitness Center, which includes a rock-climbing wall, weight room overlooked and overlooking cardio loft. There are water polo, swimming and diving pools, an indoor rifle range and indoor tennis courts, along with separate facilities for gymnastics, cheerleading, wrestling, fencing, boxing, aerobic fitness, weightlifting, volleyball and combatives. Cadets also have access to our Falcon Fuel stations, where they can fuel up with nutritional foods before, during and after their workouts to improve their performance and recovery.

Welcome to the Human Performance Laboratory. Here, Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition and Physical Therapy experts use the current best scientific evidence to optimize athletic performance, reduce injury and enhance wellness. The staff conducts cutting-edge physiological, vision and body composition testing services to establish and implement specialized training and education programs for cadets and coaches. The Human Performance Lab's mission is to enhance athletic performance while developing leaders of character who are equipped with the knowledge and habits to optimize their health and performance as individuals and leaders.

Boxing Gym

Step inside the ring at the boxing gym, where we require both male and female cadets to train as part of their combatives education. This type of training develops what we call a warrior ethos, which is critical for success in the profession of arms. The boxing gym is also home to our intercollegiate boxing team, which includes male and female teams competing in 11 different weight classes.

Cadet Field House

Come check out the Cadet Field House, which is a giant indoor sports complex that includes our Cadet Ice Arena and Clune Arena, as well as a six-lane indoor track and a synthetic turf field used for physical fitness testing and inclement-weather practice. During Air Force Falcons games, make sure to swing by our concession stands and team store.

Cadet Ice Arena

If you like getting close to the action, make sure to attend a Air Force Falcon Hockey game at the Cadet Ice Arena. No seat is more than 15 rows from the ice! Located inside the Cadet Field House, this arena is open to the public and seats 5,858 people. It's often used by youth hockey and skating teams and hosts open skate hours as well as seasonal activities.

Clune Arena

Welcome to Clune Arena. This multi-purpose sports complex has been home to Air Force Falcon men's and women's basketball since 1968. Located inside the Cadet Field House, this arena also hosts the Academy's annual Wing Boxing Open Championships and wrestling events.

Natatorium

Let's dive into the Natatorium! As one of two pools at the Academy, our natatorium features 3, 5, 7.5 and 10-meter diving boards with unique spectator gallery seating. Modeled after the pools used for Olympic competitions, this is where our swimming and diving teams practice and compete. This pool is also used for water survival training, which is an intense three-week course that requires every cadet to complete water survival scenarios including jumping from the 5 to 10 meter platforms.

Indoor Rifle Range

You've never seen an Indoor Rifle Range like this. Our 16-point, 50-foot facility features modern electronic targets with the capability to accommodate air rifle or small-bore rifle competitions. It's primarily used by the Air Force Academy Rifle Team and offers a laser system that allows our coaches to view how steady a cadet's rifle is while in position. If you join us for a match, there is a spectator area and multiple TV's used to display competitor targets.

Falcon Athletic Center

Located between the Cadet Gym and the Cadet Field House is the Falcon Athletic Center. We're standing inside the 23 thousand square foot weight room where our intercollegiate athletes do much of their training. With a ton of multi-station platforms, dumbbell platforms and a 60-yard long track, it's no wonder we're such a strong competitor across our Division I sports. The large number of platforms allow our teams to synchronize exercises when training to build coordination and collaboration.

Holaday Athletic Center

Here at the Academy, we don't let the Colorado winters or Rocky Mountain lightning get in the way of our intercollegiate or intramural athletics. The 94 thousand square foot Holaday Athletic Center is one of the nation's premier indoor athletic training venues. It features a regulation-sized field that's perfect for sports such as football, lacrosse and soccer.

You're standing at the North Overlook of the athletic fields, where you can see the diverse fields and facilities that our cadets use to train and compete. At the Academy, competition is entrenched in our culture. Physical education classes are part of our curriculum and cadets are required to participate in intramural, club or intercollegiate sports. From football and hockey to fencing and boxing, the Air Force Fighting Falcons have a rich tradition of excellence and success. We're home to 27 different men's and women's Division I NCAA teams.
