Rensselaer is home to 23 varsity athletic programs, and more than 50 club and intramural programs. Around 75% of students participate in athletics, and our student athletes work hard both on the field and in the classroom. The concourse level of the stadium provides a great view of the city of Troy and many of our athletic facilities—Houston Field House, Harkness Track and Field, and East Campus Stadium. Located just to the north of Harkness is Renwyck Field, home to our women's lacrosse program. Both Harkness and Renwyck are turf fields often used for club and intramural sports as well. East Campus Stadium

ECAV Stadium, a multipurpose lighted stadium with field turf and seating for 5,200, is home to our varsity men's and women's soccer, men's lacrosse, and football teams, in addition to various club and intramural sports. It is also utilized for concerts, convocations, and Commencement. With lights, dedicated locker rooms for 10 teams, the stadium also features a classroom, a VIP suite, a two-level press box and a state-of-the-art video board.

Sports Medicine/Strength and Conditioning Center

ECAV features a fully equipped 4,800-square-foot strength and conditioning center connects to a professional-caliber sports medicine suite. The Sports Medicine Center gives student-athletes a state-of-the-art facility to recover and rehabilitate from the daily grind of competition. In addition to new treatment beds and taping stations, the center also features cardiovascular equipment, hot/cold baths, and a hydrotherapy pool. Next door, the Strength & Conditioning facility is a state-of-the-art facility with top-of-the-line equipment.

East Campus Arena

Home to the Rensselaer men's and women's basketball programs, the East Campus Arena features a gymnasium with seating for 1,200, along with an auxiliary gym used for practice, intramurals, club sports, concerts, campus events, and open court time for students. ECAV also features numerous meeting spaces used for team meetings, study halls, and receptions.

Houston Field House

Home to our Division I men's and women's ice hockey programs, the Houston Field House features seating for 4,800 fans, six locker rooms, administrative offices, and meeting spaces. Since opening in 1949, the building has undergone a number of renovations including new locker rooms with spacious lounges and study areas, a new equipment room, athletic training suite, and video room. It is also utilized for campus events, concerts, and community events. Our men's team has won two national championships, with many alumni moving on to the NHL. The student sections in the stands are always crowded—one of the most popular campus events each year is the "Big Red Freakout!"
