Welcome to Lyon College, founded in 1872! Here, you'll discover many of the things that make us unique, like our Scottish Heritage program, our pet-friendly campus, and much more. We start our tour at the Lyon Business and Economics building. When you step inside, look up at the ceiling to see the "Arkansas College" stained glass mural. Arkansas College was changed to Lyon College in 1994. Go to the Lyon Terrace for a beautiful view of your hometown for the next four years! Nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, Batesville offers all kinds of outdoor adventures, plus a bustling downtown historic district with shops and restaurants.

The Alphin Fine Arts Building is the oldest building on campus and features some of the students' favorite, traditional classrooms. At Lyon, your average class size will be about 16 students with a 12 to 1 student to faculty ratio. The front of Alphin hosts humanities courses such as languages and literature. Humanities students typically major in Spanish, French, English, or communications studies. Alphin is also home to the Kresge Gallery, which features artwork from students, faculty, and visiting artists year round! The art program offers classes in printmaking, ceramics, and even a community mural course!

Brown Chapel holds a special place in every Lyon grad's heart. Here, you will matriculate as a freshman and attend your baccalaureate ceremony as a senior. Each year, students celebrate Founders' Day in the chapel with their classmates, and at the end of the year, students are recgonized for their academic talent during the annual honors convocation. Brown Chapel is home to the music department, religion and philosophy courses, and, the second largest pipe organ in the state. Students can take courses to learn how to play the organ and many other instruments. A Presbyterian college, we also reserve the 11 am hour on Thursdays for chapel.

Welcome to the heart of campus, Couch Garden. From here, you can see the Mabee Simpson Library, the Derby Science Building, and the back of Brown Chapel. This is where many events for the annual Scots Fest are held, when the college celebrates its Scottish Heritage with bagpipes and kilts! Couch Garden is also where we hold our beautiful commencement every May. When you graduate from Lyon College, you will walk across the Brown Chapel stage to receive your diploma, surrounded by your friends, family, and professors who supported you the past four years. This is one of the many things about Lyon that graduates appreciate, and you will, too!

The Derby Science Building is home to all science and mathematics courses, including biology, chemistry, psychology, computer science, and physics. All lab science courses are capped at 24 students to ensure each student can receive one-on-one instruction from their professors. Since the college is undergraduate only, students can expect all their courses to be taught by professors, not graduate students, and starting your freshman year, you will have the chance to participate in undergraduate research!

Like video games? Want to play competitively? The Lyon College Esports Program is a varsity program affiliated with the National Association of Collegiate Esports. Our Esports players have their own gaming room geared with the essentials to be esports champions, such as Alienware stations, nintendo switches, gaming chairs, and of course, super fast, wired internet connectivity. Esports scholarships are also available!

Home of the Fighting Scots, Lyon College Athletics pushes its student-athletes to be champions on and off the field. We are members of the NAIA American Midwest Conference and Sooner Athletic Conference. We offer men's and women's basketball, football, competitive cheer and dance, baseball, softball, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf, track and field, cross country, and men's and women's wrestling. Athletic scholarships are available, in addition to academic scholarships. Go Scots Go!

Commonly known as "Ed's," Edwards Commons is home to dining services and Student Life. The Patterson Dining Room features a variety of cuisine options from Pizza and Pasta selections to the Vegan and Vegetarian Kitchen. Students' favorite serving station is Brenda's Bakery, where everyone's favorite chef, Brenda, makes delicious treats fresh everyday. Go downstairs to the Lyon Den for lunch to-go or a late night snack. While you're downstairs, you can hang out in the game room or watch a movie in Maxfield. Student Life services are also here, like the Health and Wellness Center. We provide all the services and activities needed for your home away from home.

Bryan Lake is one of the many outdoor recreational areas on campus. Students can hammock, walk their dog, ride their bike or just enjoy the view. The lake is stocked annually, so you can go fishing, too! This is also home to one of Lyon's favorite traditions: the freshman raft race. Each year, first year students make cardboard boats with their teammates and race across Bryan Lake. Another beloved tradition is the seniors' Scot Walk. After baccalaureate, seniors gather around Bryan Lake in candlelight as they pass on the flame to the next class.

Lyon offers a variety of residence hall and apartment options, designed to immerse you in the tight-knit Lyon community. Wilson Residence Hall features amenities most common in our residence halls: double rooms with private bathrooms, study rooms, community kitchen spaces, and a laundry room. We also offer the only pet-friendly residence halls in the state. That's right, you can bring your pet with you to college!

Welcome to the Morrow Academic Center, also known as the MAC! Here, you can find academic services like tutoring, peer academic coaching, and supplemental instruction. All services are free and aim to help you achieve. Our MAC staff are here to help. When you stop by, you can also grab a coffee at the Salty Dog coffee shop.
