Hello, my name is Vee and I study environmental science. Harborwalk is the heart of our 63-acre campus. It’s a traditional gathering spot for students where we celebrate events such as homecoming, Week of Welcome and Get on Board Day, where students learn about clubs. It’s right outside of our University Student Center where you’ll find 727 Eats, which offers a variety of grab-and-go options such as fresh produce, salads and snack items. The USC is also home to local restaurant row where minority and women owned businesses bring their concepts to campus on a rotating basis.

Hello, my name is Aidan and I study environmental science. The University Student Center, which we call the USC, is the living room of the campus, featuring many lounge spaces for students to relax, eat and study. Open in 2012, the 81,000 square foot facility also contains ballrooms, meeting rooms, outdoor verandas and space for events and meetings. There is also a 1000-gallon fish tank, that is home to twelve different species of marine life, many of whom were rescued or donated from other aquariums. The USC connects to Ibis Hall, one of three residence halls here on campus, which overlooks Downtown St. Petersburg.

The Ibis is a residence hall at USF St. Petersburg. The newest facility is called Osprey –named to honor the rich variety of bird life that inhabit our shorelines. In addition to their convenient location, our residence halls offer a variety of amenities from digital cable to an ethernet connection in every room. Our residence halls also offer 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance services and laundry facilities.

Hi, my name is Drake and I study biology. There are three residence halls on the St. Petersburg campus, all named to honor the rich variety of bird life that inhabit our shoreline. Welcome to our newest residence hall, Osprey Suites, which opened in 2020 and features breathtaking views of the St. Petersburg skyline and the downtown waterfront. In addition to their convenient location, our residence halls offer a variety of amenities from digital cable to an ethernet connection in every room. Our residence halls also offer 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance services and laundry facilities.

Lynn Pippenger Hall is one of only a few university buildings nationwide named after and by a woman. It houses the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance, under the USF Muma College of Business. Built in 2017, the building’s unique features include the unique three-story Ellen Cotton atrium, a 200-seat auditorium, the Consumer Insight and Sales Lab, the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership and the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Center. The school offers small classes, high-quality experiential learning, and a variety of opportunities for community engagement. The continuous enrichment of students is made possible by the support from the community at-large, local business partners, advisory board members and dedicated alumni.

The Nelson Poynter Library connects students to a variety of information sources, diverse perspectives and fosters an inclusive, creative and collaborative space on campus. The library offers 24/7 access to more than a million electronic resources and more than 200,000 print books. Students can also check out laptops, flash drives, headphones, phone chargers and calculators. Our library’s 60-yard courtyard features outdoor study space and Peace Bull, an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes of dreams of humanity, and a gathering space for the campus community.

The waterfront is the heart of our campus and what makes our location truly special. It’s not uncommon to see dolphins and manatees as well as a variety of bird life. Students can study or relax in hammocks overlooking the water, and kayaks and paddleboards are available to check out from our boathouse. The waterfront is also the location of our annual cardboard boat race, where students build their own vessels and compete against one another in this fun and memorable campus tradition.

The Science and Technology building, or STG, is one of the many academic buildings on the St. Petersburg campus. It houses classroom space as well as teaching laboratories and faculty research labs. At USF, many undergraduates get the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research projects and even get published in scholarly journals. The STG is also a LEED-certified green building, the first at USF to attain this rigorous sustainability standard.

The Student Life Center is the center for involvement on campus, serving as a physical home to many of our more than 80 student organizations and student life departments. Offices located within the Student Life Center include Student Life and Engagement, Student Government, The Crow’s Nest, Harborside Activities Board, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Wellness Center and Disability Services. The Student Life Center also houses our fitness center which has cardio, strength and free weight zones, as well as a multipurpose studio.

No Campus would be complete without a place for students to hang out, grab a cup of coffee or a delicious meal. The Campus Grind is a coffee bar featuring a wide variety of coffee creations as well as teas, sandwiches, salads and more. It’s open for breakfast and lunch. Looking for something to eat later in the day? Right next door, the Tavern at Bayboro has burgers, wraps, wings and one of the best grouper sandwiches in Florida. Plus, the Tavern often has live music and open mic nights.
