Welcome to Oregon State University! We are standing in the Memorial Union Quad, the heart of campus. More than 35,000 students from all over the United States and 100 different countries, call this university home. Our campus is located in Corvallis, Oregon, ranked as the Top College Town in the Pacific Northwest! As we go through campus today, you will surely see why students love it here at Oregon's Research University! Before we get started, let me explain the many ways you can explore our beautiful space. -You can click on the forward facing arrow to start walking around. Memorial Union (MU)

Oregon State is one of only three universities that holds land, sea, sun, and space research grant designations. This means unique research, internship, and learning opportunities for you! Three of these four grants, land, space and sea, are displayed in mural form which you can find as you look down the stairs. As you can see above you, we have many flags hanging that represent our international student population including flags of the 9 Oregon Tribal Nations. Behind me, we have the Memorial Union Lounge, otherwise known as the "living room of campus". Here students spend their time, studying, socializing, or even napping.

Student Experience Center (SEC)

We are now standing inside of the Student Experience Center. This building was built as a space designed specifically for student involvement. It provides a home to numerous student groups and resources. At Oregon State we have over 400 clubs to join, from our Orange Media Network, to our Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life, as well as our Associated Students of OSU. These all provide lots of opportunities for leadership, engagement, and involvement.

In this space, we have four academic buildings, including our Valley Library, Community Hall, home to our Music Program, where students can express themselves through music, and Kidder Hall home to our College of Science, where 90% of students participate in undergraduate research. In Strand Agriculture Hall, we have the College of Agricultural Sciences. As a Land Grant institution, this college provides numerous opportunities for their students, which is part of the reason we are ranked among the Top 10 in the world in Agriculture and Forestry.

Community Hall

Community Hall is our oldest building on campus, dating back to when the university was founded in 1868. With its picturesque clock tower, Community Hall is the anchor of the only college campus in Oregon listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As home to our Music Program, students can join any of our bands or ensembles, even if they are not a music major or minor. As you walk by, you can hear students practicing through open windows throughout the school year.

O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory

We are standing in the great basin of the world's largest tsumani wave lab! Universities from around the world test physical structures, wave energy bouys, and more in this controlled environment that can mimic extreme wave heights. Engineering students and faculty are doing world-class research here, which is helping mitigate beach erosion, improve tsunami warning systems, and design safer bridges, piers, breakwaters and more. Oregon State's exceptional STEM programs encompass areas like our 14 different engineering disciplines, our Pre-Medicine Program, and countless opportunities for research.

Kelley Engineering Center (KEC)

The Kelley Engineering Center is one of many engineering buildings we have on campus. Kelley is home to Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. It is also where our Robotics Club has their very own Mars Rover on display. Our students have the opportunity to join student clubs and organizations like the Mars Rover, our Formula racing club, and other student groups. It is also home to our annual Engineering Expo which features interactive design project displays created and hosted by more than 1,200 senior engineering students. Project topics cover the breadth of engineering challenges, including robotics, clean water, nuclear energy, and much more.

Linus Pauling Science Center (LPSC)

Here we are inside the Linus Pauling Science Center. This $62.5 million, 105,000-square-foot facility houses the Linus Pauling Institute and chemists from the College of Science.Named after Linus Pauling, a 1922 OSU graduate and the only person to win two unshared Nobel Prizes, it is home to the OSU Electron Microscope Facility which includes one of the most sensitive carbon-detecting spectrometers in the world. The center also contains classroom and laboratory space for undergraduates, graduate students and researchers studying chemistry, biochemistry and the life sciences.The Center also boasts Ava's Café, which is named in honor of Linus Pauling's wife, a human rights activist.

Learning lnnovation Center (LInC) Classroom

The Learning Innovation Center (known as 'the Link') is a four-story building, which has 15 classrooms. This building introduces new styles of learning spaces that support collaboration and student participation, including Parliament and "In-The-Round" classroom designs. This building is also home to the Honors College where the opportunities offered are designed to equip students with the experiences, connections, and achievements to help them stand out both professionally and in their communities. These classrooms allow students to learn in a variety of academic settings. Each atmosphere will change the way students engage and they will encourage students to participate along with other students.

OSU Cultural Centers

We are standing in the Ina Haws cultural center for indigenous students, the first distinct cultural center at OSU. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive community at OSU that is committed to social justice and cultural enrichment. Our seven Cultural Resource Centers help in that initiative. They provide a sense of community, celebration, and traditions that encourage students to become dynamic role models with innovative approaches to create social change. Through the addition of these facilities, we are continuing to fulfill this promise. I encourage you to visit each of the centers during this stop.

Austin Hall Business

Austin Hall is the academic home base for the College of Business in Corvallis. The $50 million, 100,000-square-foot building has 700 classroom seats, 23 computer- and big-screen-equipped project rooms, a 250-seat auditorium, a café, and advising and career success offices. It is an all-hours destination for students, offering open, comfortable and welcoming places that foster discussion and collaboration. It is an environment tailored to providing a 21st century business education.Trader Bing's café is named after E-Trade founder and OSU alumnus Bernie 'Bing' Newcomb.

Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx)

The Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts or PRAx is a 49,000 square-foot performing and visual arts destination on the campus of Oregon State University. In four indoor and two outdoor venues we present concerts, exhibitions and performances by internationally touring artists and by OSU student ensembles. Beyond the building, PRAx acts as the hub of an arts and humanities network at OSU.

Student Legacy Park

Welcome to Student Legacy Park, home to our Intramural Fields. Students can participate in over 40 Intramural leagues and tournaments every year! In this area, you can also see our Indoor Tennis Facility, outdoor track, basketball court, and tennis courts. Sometimes you may even have a Physical Activity Course outside! Students get to choose which course they want to take for credit. We offer everything from yoga and relaxation to cardio kickboxing and scuba diving.

Dixon Recreation Center

Welcome to Dixon Recreation Center! This is one of one of our main recreation centers on campus with cardio rooms, weight rooms, two gyms, six racquetball courts, three squash courts, multipurpose rooms, a 42ft tall climbing wall, indoor track, lap pool, a dive well, hot tub, and three sand volleyball courts. Dixon is home to the Adventure Leadership Institute which provides students the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor and leadership activities and includes our Equipment Rental and Bike Shop. You can find fun, friendly competition in more than 50 intramural sports. Students can also compete against other schools in one of 40 club sports.

Reser Stadium (Football)

As a part of Beaver Nation, our students are always cheering on the Beavs at sporting events! Oregon State fields 16 NCAA Division I teams. We are in Reser Stadium, home to Beaver Football. Students get front row seats in the Beaver Dam -- directly behind the Beavers' bench. And does it get LOUD! Next door is the legendary Gill Coliseum where you can watch basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, and volleyball, and nearby is Goss Stadium (home to the 3 time National Champions) where baseball has been played for over 100 years!

Goss Stadium at Coleman Field is located near the center of campus and is home to the 3 time NCAA Baseball National Champions. Coleman Field is the oldest continuous ballpark in the nation, and baseball has been played here since 1907. In fact, the location of homeplate has never changed even as stadium upgrades have been added over time.

International Living Learning Center (ILLC)

Welcome to the International Living-Learning Center! This multi-purpose residence hall building houses approximately 310 residents. The ILLC also houses the INTO OSU offices, classrooms and faculty offices making it a true living-learning community. Furthermore, it is home to a general-purpose auditorium, a coffee shop, and Cascadia Market: an on-campus convenience store featuring a variety of grocery items, international specialty foods, household items and grab-and-go meals. The ILLC is one of many buildings on-campus that has a spirituality space and a foot-wash facility in its bathroom. This space is for any student looking for a quiet, private space for prayers, meditation or self-reflection.

There are 16 residence halls at OSU. This ILLC room is one example where the rooms have a Suite-Style Restroom which connects between this room and an adjoining room. For students looking for a bit more privacy, there are a limited number of Double rooms with Private Restrooms and Single rooms with Private Restrooms. Each floor in the ILLC also has a full-sized kitchen available to residents and cooking equipment for students to check out! The ILLC is home to the Global Village Living-Learning community and is the ideal environment for students looking to gain an immersive, multicultural experience.

McDonald Dunn Research Forest

Oregon State University has eight research forests, totaling about 15,000 acres of land. The McDonald-Dunn Research Forest is a short 15-minute drive from campus. It consists of approximately 11,250 acres of predominantly forested land on the western edge of the Willamette Valley in Oregon, and on the eastern foothills of the Coast Range. In this forest, students can engage in active-learning and hands-on research.Students and community members often use its trails for recreational use by foot, mountain bike, or horseback.

Gladys Valley Marine Studies Complex | Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC)

Welcome to Newport, Oregon, home to the Hatfield Marine Science Center! OSU has the #3 Oceanography program in the world and a top-ten program in the world for Marine and Freshwater Biology thanks in part to this incredible facility here. We also have three research vessels that call Hatfiled home. As a leading marine laboratory in the Pacific Northwest, this center provides students access to address important issues of economic, scientific, and aesthetic value in marine and coastal systems. The Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building has an Innovation Lab, a 250-seat auditorium, and other classroom space.
