The 272,000-square-foot Health and Learning Center houses medical and counseling services, a Health Promotion department, state-of-the-art classrooms, and an expansive recreational facility. It’s just one of many unique resources available to graduate students, along with services such as a dedicated Career Development office, Veteran and Military Services, the Office of Inclusion, and Academic Success Centers. NAU began as a teachers’ college in 1899, opening its doors to 23 students, two faculty members, and two copies of Webster’s International Dictionary bound in sheepskin. More than 120 years later, the number of students has increased, but the tradition of teaching excellence lives on.
